About the whole hiatus thing. Yes The CW does what I have called "the holiday hiatus" it is a two month period of time ( usually the last 2 weeks of nov through the first 2 of january) where it is reruns that starts for both supernatural and VD after this week. oh and immortalangel06 it isn't really any earlier this year just by one day and that changes every year.

Yes, Vampire Diaries along with Supernatural will be going on a holiday hiatus until probably Jan 14, 2010. The reason is because they aired the shows early so they have to end it early for 2009. If not they will run out of episode to aired next year :P

alaric isnt a vampire in the book he is a vampire hunter and he tries to help damon and stefan but then he ends up moviing away and in the book Elena has another bff and her name is merideth and she ends up falling in love with alaric. the people wrote the script for the show are doing the opposite of the books. like in the book katherine didnt die in the church she faked her death so daman and stefan would get along and she comes back later but damon and stefan and elena kill her for real.
