The reason Eric lost I think was his lack of warp gates. In my opinion, 3 gates is great for a 40-60% saturated base, but when you have two bases mostly saturated, how can you just sit there and collect money? No, if he had produced more units he certainly would have had a good chance at taking the game. By the time he got close to saturation on his second base, he should already have built another 3-5 warp gates. Even if he can't afford stalkers due to lack of gas, he can build "fodderlots".

immortals arent the counter to colosi a colosus has 2 attacks (20 damage from 1 burst of a colosus...) the way to counter colosi is...phoenix, mass stalkers (blink recommended,) currupters, infesters, vikings ect.

@Donny1543 Phoenix are way to slow to produce to get enough. Plus, they fall so quickly to stalkers that they really wouldn't work against the colossi, I don't think. He really needed to abuse the blink ability more and get under them, and snipe them out. This would turn the tide already, since Azz's income would be dwindled a great deal. Colossi are incredibly expensive.

wow azz used a build similar to what i like to use in warcraft 3 roc. something like raiders or abominations infront and heavy ranged in the back. i think it came down to the fact that during the first exp kill eric should have tried to tough out the zelots and take that colousus down. after that he just didnt have the econamy.

@blakebjb Commentary isnt meant to be educational as much as it is exciting or entertaining - there are educational commentaries and good commentators will weave in tips and tricks into their replays, but overall commentary is supposed to be fun and exciting :D

Eric had could have easily won. He had immortals out during the first push, which are effective against Azz's colossi and stalkers. But he failed at focusing the colossi, retreating unnecessarily and had horrible pylon placement. He boxed himself in his natural while his opponent's long range colossi could fire away without fear of retaliation. pity :(

The reason why Eric lost is because that wall of pylons forced his stalkers to line up right in front of the Colossus - the problem being that Colossi apply splash damage horizontally, allowing them to make full use of their splash. Also, the stalkers couldn't move forward to snipe the Colossi when they retreat. That wall of pylons was a terrible idea.

it all came down to the battle happened at 3:10

you look carefully the pylon actually helping Azz to block the attact from stalker and abuse the long range, one of the immortal also stuck there.

Zelot block the other side of the chock and stalker and clocuss have free shoot at all the unite.

If eric have put some stalker on the high ground and not put the pylon block himself in, he can win the game as the expandsion kick in.
