Chico Himself! I remember seeing this live. At the time, I didn't have the internet so I had no idea that Hall was going to WCW, and I marked out HUGE when he showed up. Good times...
I loved this moment with Hall. His grin at 2:48 is the clear underline to his preceding statement "You people. You know who I am." He knew his level of popularity at that point, and knew how big of a deal this spot was. Certainly the most pivotal point in pro wrestling. Shame he went so far downhill afterwards. He was always one of my favorites.
@jkcp1000 are you refering to TNA?Well if you are I think you like me should be hoping it is successful because as the WWE/WCW there is a need out there and a market still to this day for an alternative.Competition creates creativity just look at the Attitude era The Nwo and even ECW amongst other golden moments during a golden era.To think otherwise is very narrow minded.
Nobody in the north, east, or west ever watched nitro until the top wwf stars went there. I only started watching because I missed Razor Ramon and Diesel and wanted to watch them. Then once the NWO thing started, and Ted Dibiase and Sean Waltman joined up, it became worth watching. WWF was losing all the top guys, only Degeneration X, Mick Foley & Undertaker were left, and Stonecold became the star, and a little later, Rocky Maivia.. So then we all would switch channels back and forth.
That was the big kick off!!First time I watched this was live back in 96 on TNT and I like everyone else was saying the same thing.WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING IN WCW?!!!People were chanting Razor Razor when he came out, lol. The Nash followed about 2 weeks later.Well presented and well sold.TNA you should have been taking notes from both WWE and WCW on how to sell impact players because you had the ball and dropped it several times.Fucking idiots.
By far the most influencial speech in the history of wrestling. I heard people actually called the cops because they thought it was a real hostile takeover lol
Damn this still gives me goosebumps. Just another Monday Nitro becoming probably the single-most pivotal moment in pro wrestling. Awesome stuff. nWo 4 life
Scott Hall is just repeating Vince McMahon. Vince is the one that always said "dubbya see dubbya" on purpose, because back then the only people who watched it were hillbillys, hicks and hayseeds.
I loved that!! I looked forward to hearing Vince say it.
Back then at the same time on wwf, Vince was running a serious of comedy skits with actors playing 'Nacho Man", "The Huckster", and"Scheme Gene"because they all left the wwf for money from wcw, run by billionaire Ted Turner.
Yea Scott going to WCW wasnt going to be creative or satisfying but losing the I.C Title then losing every week to a cross dresser in WWE was creative satisfying and great for the career.Fuckin idiot.
@countbloodula This is ignorant. The last great year for WCW was 98. 99 was the year in which the WCW's decline really occurred. The finger poke of doom, vince russo, ect.
The catch about trying to sound intelligent on the internet is that if you say even one thing WRONG someone is gonna show up and correct your dumb ass.
@countbloodula i agree. 1996 was the last great year for WCW. the nWo angle, though I liked it for the first few months, was old and boring by the end of the year, and it just got dragged on for years like that proverbial dead horse. The following years would have some highlights, but overall it was just a rehash of 1 or 2 strong WCW names against the nWo, time and again, and the wrestling and matches just descended into laziness.
lol his very first word "Hey" just the way he said it only as Hall can

But good Lord, Scott is just terrible on a mic.

@SkilesASMB this is the night that the nitro wars actually started.

@johnnyfive222 I know. As i said, it might be the most important moment in modern wrestling history.
But still, Scott Hall was never the greatest talker.

But also, TNT repeated the show at 11pm, so you could watch all of Raw and then all of Nitro on a time delay.
