  • they behave like football peasants

  • haha thats one way to shut them the fuck up

  • Thats funny coz its Otago vs Harbour and Nick is from North Harbour...that was probably a bunch of his mates yelling out

  • @sharpnup yes but North Harbour Staium is also Counties Manukau home ground

  • @AnDyStAiN99 Counties dont play at North Harbour Stadium... While Growers Stadium (The old Pukekohe Stadium) was been redeveloped. Counties were based at Mount Smart Stadium.

  • @sharpnup yeah but at this time when the the video was filmed it was there home ground

  • HARM....fucking...LESS

  • Who else is the 239,000th viewer?

  • Great Rugby in those days

  • Is it just me...Or do those posts look fucking massive?!

  • Australia sucks.

  • I swear it says please observe silence during penalties and conversions on the tickets

  • @assassinsorigami who cares?? trying to distract the opposite teams goal kicker is the fun of it... it tests how good they are...

  • @circusgal44 Personally I think it's bad sportsmanship, but that would be a different rugby culture from yours? I suppose it comes down to what you expect. Teams in Ireland are usually quite good at being silent for the kicker, but apparently French kickers, when they go to Thomond Park to play Munster for example in the Heineken Cup are freaked out by the you-could-hear-a-pin-drop silences that greet them. Munster fans think they're being respectful, but the French players find it off-putting!

  • @bustedwinger haha thats true.. however if a goal kicker cant focus on his job regardless of noise around what good is he??

  • Yes, it's North Harbour, Evans's province in the previous season (when he destroyed Otago).

  • what's funny about this? stupid cunts

  • it's rugby, not football. we dont do this in our game

  • it's rugby, not football. we dont do this in our game

  • Millllllllllerrrrr

  • fairly loose with the term "funny"

  • I think the silence in Ireland (Landsdowne Road?) would be more disturbing than that..

  • i dont get it

  • not funny

  • You wouldnt get that in Thomond park

  • @PK16M You fecking do, and worse... the abuse Sexton was getting when Leinster were sticking it to your lot down there again proved your fairweather fans have feck all tradition.

  • @PK16M You would get the shite kicked out of ya haha

  • didn't disturb the kicker that much then!

  • Evans was my favourites npc player. Too bad the team were beaten regularly.

  • FLAAAAAAAAAAAANNNDEERRRRRSS!

  • what a bunch of dickss. lol

  • classic!! rugby is our national game and noone bothers to watch it except pissed up uni students!!!

  • quins player! :D LEGEND!

  • The silence can be seen in lots of places, everyone "shhsh"ing each other might be a Munster thing though, which highlights the silence...

  • Wales is the worst

  • its true about the munster thing

  • fuck ur a gay cunt ur probs some little skinny faggot who plays cricket so dont try and bad mouth newzealand rugby u gay roo rooting koala hugging faggot, go shuv an echidna up ur ass fagg!

  • Well that sums it up nicely, thank you.

(my God they cross bred them with Arabs now...Superferals!)

  • The game was an NPC match in New Zealand between North Harbour and Otago, Nick Evans grew up in the area and played for North Harbour the previous season, so some of the local University students were just reminding him of that.

  • wats so funny. bit crrap really arseholes

  • lolofied, still harsh though i dont like it when people do that

  • my dad and i met nick evans after a recent quins match and we asked about hhis kicking and the pressure. he said that he actually prefers lots of noise as opposed to silence because when its silent it feels like everyone is watching him intensely. but i guess he meant a constant loud noise rather than an unrhytmic chant that is meant to put him off. so those yobs didnt do him any favours anyway.... but good for him for landing that kick :) CMON QUINS

  • should not go to thomand park then ya can hear a pin drop

  • No, that never happened. You heard that story of Silence putting the kicker off because it was hyped up during the most recent super 14.. Dont make up stories to impress us.

  • actually the silence is a munster thing that they brought back to the super 14 after NZ played munster for the anniversary. its been big in europe for years before the super 14

  • True.

  • its scary in the rds too. 1 person shouts and you get 20 people around them tellin them to shut the fuck up

  • story of silence? i promise you i'm not lying, we were in a friend's box and he wasn't playing in that match

  • @ patergaskin

clearly dnt watch much rugby do ya

its a munster thing and has been for years

  • Watch the attitude boy. We know it started in Munster, but some other user left a comment saying that him and his Dad met Nick Evans who secretly confessed to them that silence is more off-putting than noise during penalties.

It was hyped up during the Super 14 once the Kiwi franchises started doing the same thing, which is where the other user heard it in the first place.

  • this reminds me of The Simpsons where Mr Burns has the baseball team and the crowd are all chanting Daryl, Daryl :)

  • @macylightfoot or like the one where he's like,,

    "FLAAAAAAAAAAAANNDDEEEEEEEEEERRRRRSSSSSSSS"

  • HOW GAY WAS THAT

  • gay

  • ha he still nailed it over, good lad

  • fuc=k sake that was so damn funny no it wasnt ya fanny i was being sarcastic

  • thats wasnt funny in the slightest ye fucking morons

  • I play in France and one team's supporters booed our kickers attempted conversion in the final minute. Fair play if it meant the game perhaps but they were thirty points to the good. If only for the fact that the French do it it should be outlawed, I don't think any player would put a kicker off like this but you can't control who comes and watches a game. The sportsmanship in rugby is what makes it an enjoyable game to many, lose that and you risk more than just losing 2 or 3 points.

  • It's all part of the game.

    Rugby isn't golf remember.

  • Its not soccer either!

  • Shit those are bloody skycrapers of goalposts!! saves touch judges' trouble to decide when it's so highup lol

  • lol they are bloody massive

  • its always the welsh that do that

  • u cheecky prick

  • im welsh

  • That's rugby, its a mens game, if you can't take it don't play it.

  • wrong, rugby is a gentleman's game. pro sports players or not, there is a thing called sportsmanship which extends to those watching the match.

it shouldn't be something to put up with otherwise you get what happens in football and the disgraceful behaviour of players 'sledging' in cricket. bunch of wankers.

although, it's no surprise that you're antipodean.

  • Wow, it just shows how passionate we are about the game, this has been happening overhere for years, no way is it disgraceful behaviour, if you are a good enough kicker, you'll block all of that out of your head, they're professinal players, they get played a shitload of money, so I think its alright that the crowd can boo them everyone in a while.

  • Well actually we're not that passionate, but still!

  • there was a big thing here in soccer about the level of personal abuse that players take from the fans. a bit of a case of you wouldn't do it in the street so why should they have to take it. same goes for a scottish linesman who offered a fan to have a square go with him in the touchline after he got abuse.

considering the bullshit in football, rugby should be setting a trend in sportsmanship. i understand that they should be good enough to take it, i just don't think it's right they have to

  • It happens everywhere these days though, in the Southern Hemisphere we have always booed the kicker, we havn't been told its disrespectful or anything, in basketball people boo when they take a freethrow, I don't think its just rugby.

    I see your point tho.

  • that was funny

  • thats a disgrace , us munster fans are well known for havin respect when the oppesite team are kickin , pack of gbshites

  • I agree. Ive been watching the sixnations and how the welsh treated that new italian kicker was shameful and disgusting. That sort of thing should be left to the footballers

  • thanks for agreeing !

  • and how quiet was croker when paterson was kicking! even the commentator talked about it

  • Hu said i was there ? it was a disgrace indeed

  • I think its stupid what they do at Munster.

I noticed how you're all quiet for the kicker but when there's a big up'n'under the Munster fans do that lame oooooooooooOOOOOOOOO AHH! when the fullback is attempting to catch the ball. Quite the hipocrits.

Just let the crowd do what they want. These are pro sportsmen if they can't handle jeering from the crowd then they shouldn't be in this buisness.

Munster should be the exception not the norm.

  • When the full back catches the ball its not as important there aren't points riding on the kick

Always have silence for the kicker

  • that was shit!

  • what are they shouting ?

  • EVAAAAAAAAAAANSSSSSSSS his name is nick evans

  • Thanks =)

  • actually Otago v harbour mate

  • That's Otago vs Auckland

  • france 4-ever

  • hahaha they rock

  • European and French clubs are raping NZ rugby of their best players right now :(

  • European and French........ European AND French :S

You do know France is in Europe right ?

  • Sorry, really meant to say BRITISH and French clubs are raping NZ rugby right now.

  • yep it is a shame but the good thing is that they are getting replaced by younger maybe better players:)

  • I Read that nick evans is quitting the highlandes :-(

  • who cares mccalister is better

shame he is going overseas though

  • McCalister is the worst All Blacks player in the History of the AB'S
