The term "Arab" refers to culture, which is the Bedouin culture of the Arabian peninsula. The Bedouins are Caucasian as are all of the traditional peoples of North Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia and Somalia are of Caucasion descent. "Negroes" come from Sub Saharan Africa.

The reason they want the colored people to scatter out is because they're strong voting potential in the western cape. We saw this reflected in the ANC's new affirmative action policy that will use national figures for AA instead of regional figures. This will mean that even if there are 5 coloureds to 1 black people ratio in western cape. In order to be AA compliant, they have to employ via national ratio of 7 black to 1 coloured. over 2 million jobs will be on the line if it is passed.

There is a very similar argument in Canada. There are those who insensitively assert that "there are too many French people in Quebec" & ALSO assert that the Quebecois should "spread out" across Canada. It is also quite a marginal view though such as the one mentioned here. The way I see it is that the SA government is as threatened by the Coloured stronghold of the Western Cape the same way the Canadian government is threatened by the Quebecois stronghold of Quebec.

This term was give to people with Malaysian, Indian, Chinese, African and White Ancestory in South Africa during Apartheid. Colored were given certain priviledges but were not white enough to be considered equal to whites. They were also separated and given their own townships and interracial relationships were forbidden to prevent further mixing of races. Google for it

Very informative. South African Blacks are very insecure and I am not surprised that they have hatred on Coloreds, Indians, other Asians and Blacks from other African countries. Jimmy Manyi has never said that there was an oversupply of coloured in the Cape. Kuli Roberts said that and everyone involved in the debate are commenting about Kuli Roberts remarks. It's not the ANC gorvenment that has said those things. PEOPLE READ , READ then make up your mind. She is an African journalist that is in an interracial relationship and has coloured children herself. She ran a weekly column called B!tch3s Brew on a local news paper that got cancelled after the colored community complained over her remarks. She was fired and her column was canceled. She also apologized publicly. This article has started a big debate in South Africa.
