  • What is the name of that inverter?

  • @juancarlosruiz1985 Pure Sinewave inverter.

  • Bill Cooke snbcooke@cox.net

My keyboard did bad. As well as fat fingers

  • What is the guage of wiring in that block to the right? I suspect Guage 10 to the block but what about away to the controller? Do you loose any power or amps away from the block to the controller? I have three panels on my roof but I have three controllers. One for each panel. Bill Cooke, snb

  • What charge controller do you use? I like it and want to add it to my system...

  • nice job. thanks for sharing.

  • How many years do batteries last before they need replacing? Car batteries are 5 years from my experience.

  • Nice clean set-up. Good luck with any future expansions.

  • This is the way forward.

  • NIce setup. Are you in the Caribbean like me? Greetings from sunny Jamaica.

  • good!

  • Nice Job! (looks like you live in PR )? Nice sky!

  • Nice video I am on the planning stage of setting up a solar charged battery for my home to power up my refrigerator and probably a couple of lights and my desktop PC please help me how to choose a charge controller and inverter

    1. is my inverter is 1000watts does it mean my charge controller should also handle 1000 watts?

how do i know if my refrigerator and other appliances works w/ a modified sine inverter?

    thanks in advance

    P.S r u in RP?

  • I wish you video was clearer to see your system better. You didn't go into more detail of your equipment. Please post another video.

  • vent the hydrogen dude

  • true that the batteries can pump out 4800w at 12v however the inverter is a 1000kva or around 900w so the maximum it can ever draw in is 900w/12v=75a more likely 85 due to inefficiencies. Under ideal conditions it could operate at max draw for 4.5 hours but since DC-AC inverter cuts off at around ~10.5v I'd say ~3 hours or so. Still not bad to keep just the fridge running for close to a week after a power outrage if not opened too much.

  • what kind of a system would one need to run their home as it runs right now, powering fridges stoves tv's computers lights etc etc,.. same as it is now without having to stop using anything. this is a serious question, and a reply would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

  • @DRUMSKAPE depends on your overall power use, but to be on the safe side you would need 1.5 to 2 times your current monthly electrical spending in panels to compensate for cloudy days and such and a battery bank around 1K amp/hour or larger depending on how many things you plan on using at time like washer, dryer, ac, etc... ideally the closer to 120v the bank and AC converter operate on the more efficient it would be, suffering from much less heat and conversion losses, so 60v>48>36>24>12, etc.

  • @mikelfc2010 (continuing) the DC-AC inverters will need both a off-grid tie to generate a pure sine wave and several cheaper Grid-Tie-Ins(cheaper this way) to increase the house wattage otherwise the inverter breaker will just disconnect when you turn too many things on, 6k watts on 120 is the minimum you wanna have to deal with big things turning on without burning the inverters, also electrical driers need 208v so you would need a 208v converter or a 30 amp draw on the 120v with a transformer

  • I would use a system of 24V and a Grid Tie inverter. That ally and the efficiency has a direct impact on the energy bill.Well I think your government to give incentives for those who inject power into the grid.

Eu usaria um sistema de 24V e um inversor Grid Tie. Isso almentaria a eficiencia e teria impacto direto na conta de energia.Pois acho que seu governo dar incentivos pra quem injetar energia na rede.

  • Nice set-up. I have one comment though, I see you are using a PWM regulator. Have you thought about using a MPPT regulator? You will end up getting aroung 25%(I'm not 100% sure about the exact value) more power out of your panels. By the way, are you in the Philippines? I have an off-grid system of my own and I am planning on posting a video about it soon, just waiting for good sun.

  • romppais (dot) com sells all kinds of wire and cable of all sizes, as well thousands of 6 to 48 volt DC parts and equipment, lighting, covering anything from aotomotive, marine, solor and heavy equipment, as well a large line of AC controlers, brakers and more, use welding cable of minimum 3/0 for all battery cableing, and a 300 amp fuse on the battery +

  • can you tell me what wires i need to go from my 110 watt solar panel to my charge controller. I know nothing about solar power and any information would really be helpful. Also, where would be the best place to purchase these wires. Thank you :)

  • @barnone11967Depends on how you do it. If you combine your panels in parallel at the panels it takes a bigger wire. If you bring each panels wires into the controller as a separate pair, just use wires the same size as they come with.

I would connect them in parallel at the panels and then use 12ga. wire from there to the controller. Keep the distance from panels to controller as short as possible. Use 12ga. from controller to batteries and 4ga. from battery to battery.

  • Thank you for sharing this with me...I am new at this and live in the Philippines.

  • Nice setup, you are going to get some good use out of those AGM batteries. I bet your electric meter is turning a lot slower now! Are you going to grid tie at some point too? Drop by the forums at techluck DOT com
