  • Great version... lots of souvenirs !!

  • Epic. Period.

  • Way back in 1977 i was a dj in a local bar, this was the best hit of the summer from that year, Leroy Gomez on vocals, i played the full 12 min from this record. A good beer, a wonderfull girl on my side... after this record one minute silence, to turn the record for playing the first song on the "B" side: Gloria. That was my life for many years. Ive got so many memories, nothing i loose from my life, only the girl... Its just a memorie....and the girl? She's now 50+ and still an angel...

  • @tombstone909 I understand you thought it was unnecessary that he shared his opinion but that's life.

  • @jigsaw80puppet And i also guess me replying to some dickheads comment is just life and i guess you replying to me telling me to get over it is just life, your getting no where and getting involved really didnt solve anything. I already knew everything you've said.

  • Heard this for the first time in Quebec,Ca. in Feb. 1978. It was outside and 8 degrees.

As soon as the clapping began everyone stopped what they were doing and clapped to the song. They all knew it. As soon as I got home I found the only place that had it; " Sam Goody". The album is still in great condition. even though, in those years I could have worn it out.

  • But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

  • every Quentin soundtrack has great forgotten gems like this

  • @eahazell Sure, he has an amazing knowledge and taste. I was pretty surprised to hear that Japanese song in the Kill BIll fighting scene between bride and O Ren.

  • @SophyaAgain We find this japanese song into the movie "Lady Snowblood" that have inspired this scene, in fact Kill Bill is an hommage to many movies (martial arts, western spaghettis....)

  • @TheMandyHorrorShow Yes, I saw the movie "Lady Snowblood". The story of Snowblood's life is also O Ren's.

    Tarantino is a great filfmaker.

"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" has been recorded or performed by many artists, and is widely known by the 1965 blues rock hit recording from The Animals. A 1977 disco/Latin rendition by Santa Esmeralda was also a hit.

  • The best!

  • Something is missing in this song, hmmm...

    oh, swordfighting sounds!

  • I find this song mediocre to be honest but 02:38 to 06:32 is simply amazing

  • beautiful track from 70s

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Thenk you for extended version.(It's listening first time, until today I have only listen to standard(short) version.) Middle rap is very very passionately.

  • mooi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-))))

  • Kill Bill *-*

  • Adorei a musica, D+,envolvente.

  • Mir ist es egal wer den Song als erstes gespielt hat! Diese Version von Leroy gemacht find ich die Beste.

  • @tn163ta wrong. nina simone recorded it first in 1964.... the animals in 1965...

  • This tune goes mint with jack daniels :-)

  • In this instance being first or last or best is not what is important (at least to me) for this version I like the Latin styling and the flamenco influences.

This is taken from wikipedia. So I lean towards believing the song was first sung by Nina Simone

  • i got their album! ^^

  • Yes... this is the music from the final battle against O-ren Ishii... the best song of the movie!

  • Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood is a song written by Bennie Benjamin, Gloria Caldwell and Sol Marcus for the singer/pianist Nina Simone, who first recorded it in 1964.

  • Nina Simone was the first one...

  • @movingmountain19 No, it was the animals.

  • kill lucy liu. great fight scene from kill bill 1. tarantino's the best visionary since orson wells.

  • thank's a lot !

  • absolutely class

  • class

  • for all the arguments that are going on here, the song was originally sung by nina simone. it was done as a cover by many other artists

  • The song was originally written for Nina Simone, who recorded it in 1964. After that, many artists have performed the song, of which the 1965 version of The Animals is probably the best known.

  • love it!!!

  • Was dancing to this waaaaaay before Kill Bill 2 was even thought of ;-)

  • anyone know where I can get the 16 min version? Wikipedia isn't henlping

  • THE ORIGINAL IS SANTA ESMERALDA

  • The LONG version - the BEST

  • WUNDERSCHÖN!!!

  • our band is playin this song!!! it sounds beast!!!! but there ait no singin

  • you counting

  • BTW The Animals are the original singers of this song not nina simone

  • @tn163ta Are you sure ? That's what I first thought but a few users kept telling me the song was written for Nina Simone... I don't know who's right/wrong !

  • @leiko0punk From Wikipedia: "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" is a song [...] for the singer/pianist Nina Simone, who first recorded it in 1964. [...] and is widely known by the 1965 blues rock hit recording from The Animals. A 1977 disco/Latin rendition by Santa Esmeralda was also a hit.

  • @leiko0punk Aparently, Nina heard The Animals song and within the same year (or a year later) release her own version... that´s why it´s so confusing...

  • @leiko0punk Don'y worry you're right, Nina Simone had this on her album in 1964 then the animals in 1965

  • @leiko0punk Nina Simone was the original singer for this song. It was written by Bennie Benjamin, Gloria Caldwell and Sol Marcus. The original came out in 1964. The Animals released their version in 1965. This version was originally released by Santa Esmeralda in 1977.

  • @leiko0punk hes aint wrong, it was the animals, and what a awesome band they are

  • @leiko0punk

Yeah, but the animals suck, and don't have a horn section.

  • @leiko0punk Nina Simone (1964), The Animals (1965)

  • @leiko0punk You're right. The song was written for Nina Simone.

  • @leiko0punk

but nina simone says in on of the recordings that the animals landed a big hit with this song before she sings it, so this would indicate that they were the first to record it.

  • @leiko0punk simone first, animals second, theres like 7 years between Simone doing it, then Simone.

  • @leiko0punk Just because the song wasn't written by the person it doesn't mean its not theirs. Tom Jones wrote very few of his songs. Delilah wasn't written by him but i'm sure nobody would say it isn't his song.

  • @tn163ta The original is on Nina Simone's 1964 album "Broadway, Blues, Ballads" and is considered one of her trademark songs. The Animals covered it a year later. There are three Santa Esmeralda versions from 1977: their original 16-minute album version, an 8-minute edit for the 12" single (#1 US Dance), and a 4-minute edit for the 7" single. The Kill Bill version is a newer re-edit with a small amount of remixing.
