@19GirlBad I find it funny that even though kodoman66 spelt Del Shannon's name wrong, you who claim not to know who he is, spelt his name right! Anyway,. he was a singer. Look him up. You are on the net, after all. =P
One of the greatest songs ever written and performed, a recording much greater than the sum of its parts. I was only a little kid when this first came out, but I remember it well and it brings back a lot a great memories.
This song is a ticket back to the mid 60's and mixing it up in the back seat of the Chevy or the Ford making out down by the beach or back in the woods with the radio playing softly and some Bali Hi wine or vodka to set the mood for a pair of teenagers out for a bit of fun. There were no iPods or cell phones or drugs and it was all about what could be done in the front or back seat of a car to some slow music! That was a good time!
these are two bad muthas! my mom and dad would play this record back in the day and i thought they were bruthas, because of the name and the voices. very surprised when i saw the album cover. sad that Hatfield would choose to end his life.
This is my favorite song of all time. I remember rollerskating at the skating rink on Sundays in 1965. They would play this song, and everyone would slow skate...man!!! the Memories. Thanx Righteous Brothers!!!!
This is not only one of the greatest songs ever sung but nobody could have sung it better than Righteous Brothers! It is such an incredibly *** passionate*** song that it is simply amazing!
The intensity of feeling the song produces is overwhelming in a nice way --- kinda hypnotic!!!
This is by far the clearest and the best version of this song on YouTube. Thanx a MILLION for posting!!!!!!
@simonpayne12 You're welcome. I'll be 52 at the end of this month. So I was 4/5 years old during that era...and remember seeing the Beatles on Ed Sullivan and remember this song, as well as the some of the old rock show like "Shindig" (which was a Friday night tradition for me and some of my siblings)
Elvis singing this song makes these guys look and probably feel like shit. They didnt even come close to toping him... their voices arent even good anyways? listen to this absolute shit and get back to me after u hear elvis masterpiece. i lose all respect for the r.b.
@slApfeSt00 Are you losing the run on yourself, Elvis was a mediocre singer at best , these are pure class, Elvis should never be in the same room as the Righteous Brothers cos if he was he wudda given up singing!!! forever.
@liamg353 to say Elvis was mediocre at best now thats the most ridiculous comment I have ever read ..it must be a windup.....as good as The Righteous Brothers were and this is one of my favourite songs and I'm certain even in their heyday they (R.B.)would LOL at your crazy comment
@hungryherbie I take it you are an avid Elvis fan, so your judgement may be somewhat impaired, The general concensus is that Elvis was a very good entertainer, but a bad actor and just an o.k. singer, to even contemplate that he was a better singer than either of the Righteous Brothers or indeed thousands of other artists is bordering on lunacy and shows just how little you know about real singing and how much of a fan you are. but hey everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
@liamg353 your right everybody has an opinion but yours i'm afraid not to many would agree with you sir statistics prove T.R.B.had about 6 big hits and Elvis well I don't to embarrass you ....not bad for a ok singer I suppose....but you are entitled to your opinion
@slApfeSt00 Bullshit, nobody tops Rightous Bros.on this song...they own it!. Hey dummy, how come this is the most played song in rock and roll history Huh?. Maybe you should stick to something you know but obviously music ain't it.
@jeffsor47 Yeah people also said that nintendo 64 was as good as it was going to get... The righteous brothers were the first to do what they do and be liked doing it. I guess the girls automatically found them attractive which set off their career. Elvis beat them ... sorry
The Righeous Brothers were at a little place called "STAGE SEVEN" in Phoenix Arizona ,doing a gig in the early sixties when I first saw them. I still enjoy their music. Thanks for posting it and bringing back the memories of my teenage years.
"She's Lost It, Goose....no she hasn't...yeah Goose Sorry but "She's Lost That Lovin' Feelin'...god I hate it when she does that." CAN I GET A THUMBS UP?!
This song by The Righteous Brothers is one of the all time classics it gets top marks and gone straight into my favourites ...excellent sound posted cheers Simon
It's still out their on a "Wave Some Where" I just wish my receptors could Tune in so that I could travel back in time for a while and experience those Days for my self because I Believe There Was More of That Lovin Feelin in those days Because it's pretty much Gone in the here and now. Today's Singers believe that Acting Tough and Good looks Makes the Music, "When It's the Music that makes them Legends.
True true soul. You know Bonnie Raitt once said that Aretha Franklin was the voice of God. I know what she meant by that, and I agree, but add these two to that list...AMAZING.
I'm only 19, and I can honestly say this song is beautiful! Music today lacks what artist had back in the day! Timeless and priceless! The ending always gives me goosebumps
