  • i am very proud that us palauans have kept our culture alive for thousands of years in the most accurate fashion. i hope that we keep it up. for those wondering, the last dance is a modern dance, having sprung in the japanese era and american eras with the attempt at imitating the military marches of the two powers. the other dances however, are styles that have been preserved for thousands of years. let us continue to keep our culture and heritage alive! long live the motherland!

  • Is kiribati the only micronesians to have a hula in their dancing

  • @teetalovespeace i realize im replying to a very old comment, but i feel it is important that i do because of the nature of the question. yes, kiribati is the only micronesian ethnic group that would have a "hula" form of dance. although it isn't called a hula, it is very similar. the hula is a polynesian form of dance, and because kiribati is indeed very close to polynesia, it is natural that they would have a hula like dance style.

  • wow, kmal klebokel. i miss dancin palauan tradtional dances. uu, i see my sistah bibz.

    cool

    trist

  • If you type "Old Age '87 Series - Part III" there's another Palauan story telling dance that filmed back in 1987. You'll see that it was combined with the dance of Palau's cousin island, Yap.

  • This is beautiful! So awesome to be able watch different cultures. Thanks for the post!
