Sentimentalism, is out of place here.

To libetrate those who exploit is licensing

The British while giving us independence did recognize that Malaya/Malaysia was a soverign Malay state headed by the Malay sultanates.

The Contsitution was then constructed revolving around these fundamentals, that Malaysia was and is a Malay soverign state headed by the Malay Sultantes.

The question of what Malaya/Malaysia is therefore is not in doubt.

He doesnt deserve to be a 'minister of education' that supposed to be a Nation Teacher, but he waving the 'keris' from time to time, if he is in UK/USA he will be step down immediately without any question!!!!, he has influencing the race hatre among the race in malaysia, including Chinese/indian. And sadly, our so called moderate PM didnt do anythg about it, and will allow him to do again, so do u trust our sincerity of the leadership?????

can't "read more", because there aren't many books available on this topic. The latest book written by Dr Kua Kia Soong proposed a theory according to Dr Kua's study; but this is just 1 book, you can't conclude anything from just 1 book. An incident as complicated as May 13, cannot be the result of just one reason. you will know this if you read more about world history, history of other historical events.

what made you said she doesn't understand the Malaysian Chinese feeling? Who are Malaysian Chinese? what makes you think that every individual of this group of people ("Malaysian Chinese") wants the same thing? It is easy to subdivide human beings into different groups and assume everyone in a particular group wants the same thing. (by the way, i believe, according to your definition, i can be categorized as Malaysian Chinese; but i agree with Yasmin Ahmad. You see, we don't want the same thing)

Yes, we dont want the same thg, as we from different culture/religion, but the fundamental right about equality of education, job opputunities should not be made a different by now, No any race will have privillage after another on the education, cos all human born with functional 'brain' and arm and leg, just matter to make use of it!!!

(I'm buddhist and i speak mandarin as my mother tongue.say it here, so that you know my "identity"). Malaysia's problem, many people simplified as "racial problem"; in reality it's way more complicated than that. it involves ethnicity, religion, economy, social classes, government (trying to justify the need of single-ethnic party) etc etc.

On surface, "malay government takes away opportunities of chinese to enter universities", in reality, 40% of university students are non-malay, which is EQUAL to the proportion of non-malay in malaysia. so, speakinng of EQUALITY, this is EQUALITY.

so, the "privilege" of certain ethnic group, is on paper only. Now the biggest problem we have is NOT whether dasar ekonomi baru is fair or unfair. The problem is: there are certain people in power(Hishammuddin, for example), trying to use ethnic-sentiment, for their own political gains. everything returns to politics. We, as citizens, should not fall into the trap created by those bureaucrats. (as my mom said, Hishammuddin is a disgrace to his father, who was a much better person/politician)
