Also i believe everyone on that Zeo team could make a later appearance in any future series because they still have their zeonisers intact. I have a theory that the Zeo powers, which are supposed to be growing in power all the time, still weren't strong enough to rescue Lerigot, so Zordon sped up the process and augmented them with makeshift Zords using car parts to develop the turbo powers.
Though for this to work, you have to assume that Kat instinctively shouted the Zeo morphing call when she fell, that the zeonisers weren't scrapped or reused and that this was the reason they went all screwy when she tried to use them.
@MeBeMat According to a former writer of the series, in the original script, Divatox was supposed to destroy the zeo powers. Also, Billy was supposed to cameo and give them their new turbo powers. He was to tell them that he developed them from the zeo powers and that is why he kept randomly disappearing back in zeo. Sadly, the script was too long and both of those KEY plot points got dropped.

This was all made back before Fast and the Furious taught everybody that Turbo only makes cars faster, it doesn't give you Ranger powers :P
Having said that, I watched this when it was in the theater, and 2:57 was the start of like 45 seconds of the most epic thing I had seen since Star Wars :P
To all the haters, you need to go do some research before anyone bashes Power Rangers Turbo. Apparently, for the issue of Rocky and Justin, I've read that Steve Cardenas (aka Rocky) was written out of the series starting with this movie because of some conflicts he had with the production crew.

So by Zordon's words, the Turbo Megazord is more powerful than all of the MMPR and the Zeo Megazords. However in the series, the Phantom Ranger gives the new Rangers the Rescue Zords which he describes more powerful than any Zord before them, that the new Rangers have ever seen. The problem I'm having is this. The new Rangers who got the Rescue Zords, the only other Zords they've seen was the Turbo Zords.
So basically which is the most powerful megazord ever: Turbo or Rescue?

@nazareth53 Yeah. Now, why they switched to the Turbo powers to start with was to get onto the island. The purpose of the Turbo Zords was to have Zords that could fit on the boat so they could bring them to the island. As for why they didn't switch back, my theory is that the Morphing Grid wouldn't allow it because Divatox wasn't in the same league as Rita and Zedd or the Machine Empire.

The first Power Rangers Movie's effects aren't exactly awe-inspiring, but at least you know those are movie effects, not like Turbo's "big-screen television episode." The first film was clearly superior to this because of the time, effort, and money those people put into making that film look better than Tubo's TV show film.

MMPR The Movie: The only morphed fight is lacking in the martial arts that are PR's stock-in-trade, and is so badly lit you can barely see what the hell is happening. The CGI Zords are utterly unconvincing. The Ape is a mess, and the Megazord looks completely wrong. It doesn't even get to fight properly.
Turbo movie: Morphed fights visible and awesome. Megazord gets to kill monster & actually looks like it's there
@ZeldaTheSwordsman Damn retard, I wouldn't refer to this as a movie but more like a 90 min. long episode to start the Turbo series as the first MMPR film was nowhere as childish as this. MMPR effects were cheesy but not as poor as this. The zord-fight lasted, literally, but a few seconds which was a complete turn off. Nothing's worse than an 11-year-old's voice as a grown man's. Plus The plot wasn't too swell, the action wasn't as good, and overall the movie was low-budget compared to the first.

@markymark8326 The Turbo Movie was what it needed to be, as best as they could produce given some unexpected snags (David Yost walking, Steve Cardenas' injury). The fights feel much less half-assed in this movie thanks to not being last-minute rush jobs. Especially the morphed fights. How can you say the first film had better effects? We could barely see the Rangers in the one morphed battle they had, and they hardly did any stunts like that. How can you say that's better?

@ZeldaTheSwordsman And the Megazord fight sucked. Yes, it was longer, but that just made it more painful. The Zords didn't look like they were really there thanks to poor shadowing and overdone gloss, the Ape blatantly cheats during the transformation, the Megazord's head was wrong, for some dumb reason it was wielding the Shogun Megazord's sword when the Ninja Megazord's supposed to be a puncher, and worst of all the thing jobs almost instantly. @ZeldaTheSwordsman Plus, the first movie commits the sin of Fred. The stupid kid who steals the function and time that should rightfully belong to Bulk and Skull. That gets it several negative points. Other complaints: Zordon looks like crap, the Command Center set looks... off, Mordant.
The Turbo Megazord's fight may have been short, but it was the Megazord who won it, and both participants looked real.
Oh, and the real kicker? This is the higher-budget movie.

@msalmodovar1 The series it was derived from, Carranger, was actually a comedic Super Sentai series in Japan. They actually spent their time fighting for traffic safety and stuff, and the whole series was considered a parody. So, naturally, the action sequences wouldn't make sense to us, nor would the villans. They were meant to be funny when they were created, but when Saban made the movie, it was designed to be more serious. Hence, the whole series was just terrible.
Hear Hear! While the MMPR Movie's costumes had a sort of neat charm to them for being clearly more "American" the Zords were awful. To a kid, sure, that was amazing, but they aged HORRIBLY. I can still look at the costumes from the Sentai and appreciate how well they were made and they hold up just fine.
@TheTrueLegend Yea the actual costumes tend to fare well through the passage of time, and really all Ranger suits are variations of the originals, and they are distinctive among all the Rangers. If the original Rangers suddenly show up to kick ass, everybody and their mom know exactly who they are, no introduction needed. Like in "Once a Ranger", the first few pop up and say something stupid. Then Adam comes in, kicks ass, and doesn't say a word..there's just no need :P
If you ask me, this movie was a crock of shit. However if anyone has seen the original script, they'd only blame the editing job. the script included many unused scenes and an explanation of where the zeo powers went.

@Martialart07 The only thing that can save the FAILED writing is that the Zeo powers eventually got too powerful for them to control and would have started to kill them like they did Jason when he was Gold Ranger. The Zeo powers were created for non humans and the Gold Ranger powers were superior to the core 5 so it made sense that Jason would be the first to suffer the effects despite getting his powers last. Eventually the rangers would have suffered the same fate hence Turbo was needed.

So by Zordon's words, the Turbo Megazord is more powerful than all of the MMPR and the Zeo Megazords. However in the series, the Phantom Ranger gives the new Rangers the Rescue Zords which he describes more powerful than any Zord before them, that the new Rangers have ever seen. The problem I'm having is this. The new Rangers who got the Rescue Zords, the only other Zords they've seen was the Turbo Zords.
So basically which is the most powerful megazord ever: Turbo or Rescue?

Sure, the 5 are given new powers & wheels but the action feels old & I understand Divatox wants to be corny & shit because after all its power rangers & this is a movie made for kids & the villain can't be too scary but c'mon is this the best they can come up with? She acts more like Paris Hilton & the movie expects us to view her as a threat. Even Team Rocket are better villains than this. Then there's a kid who morphs into the size of an adult, wtf. @nazareth53 Yeah. Now, why they switched to the Turbo powers to start with was to get onto the island. The purpose of the Turbo Zords was to have Zords that could fit on the boat so they could bring them to the island. As for why they didn't switch back, my theory is that the Morphing Grid wouldn't allow it because Divatox wasn't in the same league as Rita and Zedd or the Machine Empire.

hated how in this movie the suits were spandex rather than the first movie's armor-like suits & the Zords were also costumes rather than those
computer-generated animation.
No matter what, I'd always go with Kimberly as the pink ranger who I still
have the hots for. Imo, I think Kat never really deserved Kim's pink-ranger morpher.

The first Power Rangers Movie's effects aren't exactly awe-inspiring, but at least you know those are movie effects, not like Turbo's "big-screen television episode." The first film was clearly superior to this because of the time, effort, and money those people put into making that film look better than Tubo's TV show film.

MMPR The Movie: The only morphed fight is lacking in the martial arts that are PR's stock-in-trade, and is so badly lit you can barely see what the hell is happening. The CGI Zords are utterly unconvincing. The Ape is a mess, and the Megazord looks completely wrong. It doesn't even get to fight properly.
Turbo movie: Morphed fights visible and awesome. Megazord gets to kill monster & actually looks like it's there

@ZeldaTheSwordsman Damn retard, I wouldn't refer to this as a movie but more like a 90 min. long episode to start the Turbo series as the first MMPR film was nowhere as childish as this. MMPR effects were cheesy but not as poor as this. The zord-fight lasted, literally, but a few seconds which was a complete turn off. Nothing's worse than an 11-year-old's voice as a grown man's. Plus The plot wasn't too swell, the action wasn't as good, and overall the movie was low-budget compared to the first.

@markymark8326 The Turbo Movie was what it needed to be, as best as they could produce given some unexpected snags (David Yost walking, Steve Cardenas' injury). The fights feel much less half-assed in this movie thanks to not being last-minute rush jobs. Especially the morphed fights. How can you say the first film had better effects? We could barely see the Rangers in the one morphed battle they had, and they hardly did any stunts like that. How can you say that's better?

The Zords didn't look like they were really there thanks to poor shadowing and overdone gloss, the Ape blatantly cheats during the transformation, the Megazord's head was wrong, for some dumb reason it was wielding the Shogun Megazord's sword when the Ninja Megazord's supposed to be a puncher, and worst of all the thing jobs almost instantly. It's the comet that wins.

@ZeldaTheSwordsman Plus, the first movie commits the sin of Fred. The stupid kid who steals the function and time that should rightfully belong to Bulk and Skull. That gets it several negative points. Other complaints: Zordon looks like crap, the Command Center set looks... off, Mordant.
The Turbo Megazord's fight may have been short, but it was the Megazord who won it, and both participants looked real.
Oh, and the real kicker? This is the higher-budget movie.

@msalmodovar1 The series it was derived from, Carranger, was actually a comedic Super Sentai series in Japan. They actually spent their time fighting for traffic safety and stuff, and the whole series was considered a parody. So, naturally, the action sequences wouldn't make sense to us, nor would the villans. They were meant to be funny when they were created, but when Saban made the movie, it was designed to be more serious. Hence, the whole series was just terrible.

Hear Hear! While the MMPR Movie's costumes had a sort of neat charm to them for being clearly more "American" the Zords were awful. To a kid, sure, that was amazing, but they aged HORRIBLY. I can still look at the costumes from the Sentai and appreciate how well they were made and they hold up just fine.

@TheTrueLegend Yea the actual costumes tend to fare well through the passage of time, and really all Ranger suits are variations of the originals, and they are distinctive among all the Rangers. If the original Rangers suddenly show up to kick ass, everybody and their mom know exactly who they are, no introduction needed. Like in "Once a Ranger", the first few pop up and say something stupid. Then Adam comes in, kicks ass, and doesn't say a word..there's just no need :P

@Martialart07 The only thing that can save the FAILED writing is that the Zeo powers eventually got too powerful for them to control and would have started to kill them like they did Jason when he was Gold Ranger. The Zeo powers were created for non humans and the Gold Ranger powers were superior to the core 5 so it made sense that Jason would be the first to suffer the effects despite getting his powers last. Eventually the rangers would have suffered the same fate hence Turbo was needed.
