  • its exactly same or below sea level thats crazy

  • In The Netherlands we have "dijken" which are strong and protect the lower lands, but sometimes if there is a dry period, the dijk is weaker than the water, and then the water comes through..

  • New Orleans was built on Cypress Swamp..Metaire Kenner and New Orleans was all Cypress Swamp before they drained it..

  • This MUST be a fake photoshop job. Literally hundreds of CONspiracy-Theorists have proven again & again, using their Master Doctorate of Professional Professors of Secret Levee Demolition Science degrees, it's IMPOSSIBLE for water higher than a levee to over-top it. With only an itty-bitty Masters, I'm not qualified to understand the highly complicated data they use to show this fact. Something about levees built by COE breaks, not over-tops, even with water 10 feet higher than the top of levee.

  • @SaltLife750 LOL!! People from England are mad? 'we claimed America as our own, and tookAmerica from the Indians that resisted' Wow, thats a history to be proud of my friend.

Try reading some English history. A country that looks after its own people.

  • I feel really bad for New Orleans. I learn this in science. I might take a trip there one day....when you know there are no signs of floods.

  • @TheKiki1499 You can come now since hurricane season is about to start and you don't want to be here when it's hurricane season because then... there's flooding!

  • Those Levee's are a fucking joke.

  • Next time call the Dutch :-)

  • @Snowwie88

The Fins should be on speed-dial, too...

  • @Snowwie88 In the long run the Dutch won't be able to stop flooding either. It is not just sea water but also water from the rivers Rhein and Meuse that will get them swimming in the end. 17.000.000 people of which 10.000.000 living below sea level.

  • That wall should be at least 2 feet higher and 3 feet thicker it's tiny I could punch threw that thing

  • That's not a levee, that's a T-wall supported by battered piles. Levees are made out of soil. T-walls are designed to overtop so that they don't absorb the extra energy from waves. Levees are better because they can deform and absorb the dynamic energy of a barge or something large impacting them. However they take up more of a foot print.

  • Okay, so what you have here is some storm surge, the levees are designed to have the water spill over the top... just not too much. And no most of new orleans is NOT above sea level... almost all of it is at least a little if not a lot below sea level. Same with Metairie, Kenner, and Chalmette. Only the areas immediately near the River are above. I live there, and i couldn't tell you why those how in the world a wall that looks less than a foot thick can hold back that water??

  • Americans are dumb-shits! They wouldnt know a joke even if it washed up half of new-orleans!!

  • @MaximusOwnz Um. Americans held charities and gave money to those in need. The country was united as they tried to raise money for NO... Just because george bush was a bad pres doesnt mean the whole country is stupid. Fucking brit piece of shit

  • @MaximusOwnz id pay money to see you protect against a 15 ft. tidle surge any better... americans are not dumb shits... we are responsible for ending and settling every major world related war EVER... other countries kiss americas ass for our help, and japan still cant see right from the nuclear fallout and the ungodly rain of fire we laid upon them for their betrayal... so, id like to ask you, say that one more time while my finger sits on this button that will end you without hesitation...

  • @MaximusOwnz babbled about, "Americans are dumb-shits! They wouldnt know a joke even if it washed up half of new-orleans!!"

As ignorant as the majority of you mid-pubescent hatemongers are, you just might be partially onto something there. It's true Americans sometimes don't get the punch-line of the grade school jokes which are a staple of your conversational skills. We tend to concentrate more on stuff like proper capitalization (New Orleans) & correct punctuation (There's no hyphen in it).

  • Mrobamanator WTF is the saits? You mean the saints? Saints kick ass mother fucker so fuck u. Go suck obamas dick.

  • Watch my video. It's about earth shift. Continental drift: One huge continent became 2 continents, then 5 (or 6) and then?

    watch?v=j7I_eFoIk64

  • boring...I wanted to see the wall break.

  • @caesiume well drive a car through your house

  • @caesiume well drive a car through your house

  • they should've made that wall much more bigger so then THAT doesn't happen... lolz ;D

  • They shouldve made it an inch higher

  • lmao! i know right! thats the whole reason for the entire flood lol!

  • sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. thats what a levee looks like......inriguing

  • i was bout 2 say dha say thing. it look like a freeway wall

  • hey its lil wayne's infinity pool!

  • oops *LEVEES!

  • This looks just rediculous...Ummm here's an idea...just to be safe...these levies should always be at a height 3 times higher than recommended...ya know? just in case a category 5 HURRICANE hits....sheesh...i mean, how expensive can it be to build onto these levee,...if that means protecting the lives of us American citizens?...we spend money on building wayyy more dumber (or unimportant) things...come on America!

  • How about not building cities below sea level?

  • AlbertaGamer, How about not building cities were it snows, have earthquakes, tornadoes, heat waves, forest fires, dust storms, overflowing rivers, volcanos, wild animals, and yankees?

  • @AlbertaGamer most of New Orleands is abolve sea level includeing the lower9

  • @thadd05 No, that is not really accurate. Most of New Orleans was built in drained marshland that by its very nature would be at sea level or below. LiDAR elevation surveys confirm that significant portions of the city, in particular those that flooded during Katrina, lie below the mean sea level.

  • We the people can only protect ourselves... but we choose to let others run our lives... they dumbed us down worst than sheep I believe...

put people on the moon but cant build a levee an extra 3 times higher... lol thats our Government for ya... killing Americans means less spending...

its money over people these days... its mindboggling...

Only God can truly help you

  • levees protect new orleans which is 2 ft. above sea level at its highest in the french quarter from the mississippi which is 9 ft above sea level and the pontchatrain

  • atleast the shit didnt break and fuck us up like last time..

    proud new orleans resident

  • i heard the army or something blow it up to save rich neighborhoods huh? thats messed up

  • u don't know what the fuck you talking about, mexicant the rich neighbor hoods got it worse than the fucking 9th ward but whitey on da roof don't make for good tv ratings

  • completely wrong and just a stupid conspiracy theory. This is what happens when you have a CAT 5 hurricane and a city UNDER sea level

  • @bengals101 most of New orleans is abolve see level

  • FLOOD ME BABY! FLOOD ME ALL THE WAY!!

  • A small ass wall that aint worth a shit cuz it's too low............

  • i feel stupid for asking but whats a levee

  • levee is a dam

  • A levee is basically a flood wall. They run along big bodies of water. Because here in Louisiana, there is A LOT of water. And it's most likely close on the cities. So that's how they keep the water from wiping out our cities. They have levees in other places but they usually have different names and built differently.

  • water is more powerful than cement and concrete

  • lil wayne run !! :(

  • how big are the levees?

  • wall protection from 15 to 20 feet high around the City of New Orleans

  • They are usually bigger than that. About 20. But that levee is so short because that water is way below that. But the hurricane makes the water heights rise significantly!

    ~PROUD LOUISIANA RESIDENT~

  • at least the levees held this time

  • some one blew up da levies at katrina cough inside job cough

  • really? I don't know. That is a crap load of water and a small wall. They coulda built em a little higher. Next year will probably be worse. Thanks global warming!

  • That levee is short because that water is WAY below that levee. Sorta like a bridge. Now the levee on the rivers and stuff like that are MUCH higher.

    ~PROUD LOUISIANA RESIDENT~

  • ok but next time a hurricane comes and the sea levels are rising I'm worried it might overflow.

  • WOW not impressed with the new system at all! This storm was very weak compared to Katrina. 3-5 level strom will bust these I would bet money on it. They say built to last 100yrs HUMMM they should have been much taller and thicker.

  • They should have made it about 2 more feet taller. The water is just BARLEY making it over it. At least this time the people left the city. God bless em

  • wow there alot of stupid comment here how bout actually riding out a hurricane and see if u can swim against it if ur nto going to do it then shut up

  • wasnt the point of surfing dip shit they act like water hurts us water provides life and i know it also takes it away but come on stop being so scared

  • holy old shit
