  • Eve was good but the chorus looks dead. No expression, no animation. It's not an "active song" perse but you still have to act people

  • If anyone lives in ontario this show is going on in Woodstock at the local high school (woodstock collegiate institute) its amazing. december 14-17 at 7:30 15$ at the door. Hope to see you there

  • That one line "I still believe is second chances" is the most powerful line in the show. Because it is the meaning of the entire show.

  • funny i was in this musical 2 yeas ago and i still rember all the words to all the songs

  • im going to be in this show. im going for a 4 hour rehearsal in an hour and 10 minutes. i have been in 45 plays and recitals and have apeared on tv 9 times.

  • Why is everyone in the ensemble dead? lol

  • We are supposed to do this next summer but my director for Hello, Dolly! Told me in probably won't get alot of fans cuz it just has pretty music...not alot of action.

  • I have auditions for this play in two hours!!! Wish me luck!!!! First audition for me!!!

  • I'm doing children of Eden right now at my company and I'm so happy this song is beautiful. Kudos to this cast for doing it justice

  • "Soprano heavy"??? It's UNISON! And they're all watching the music director. This is funny funny shit. Is Father wearing a silver spaceman suit?? One of the sadder renditions I've seen. I'm sure this chick is the best singer she knows.

  • how dare anyone not like this!!

  • great job, i saw the original in london and you guys would easily have been good enough for the west end stage

  • was that adam and abel in the back at the end in the light

  • i was in this at my church i played a zebra i cried during rehersals and performance of this song its sad

  • I worked in live theater sound production for over a decade and out of the many works I was involved in "Children of Eden" and "Rent" are - for me - the greatest treasures of all. The themes, messages, music are incredible. I was moved by each and every performance.

It disappoints me that "Children of Eden" did see a wider popularity. Could it be its interpretation of the christian message? I think it presented a fresh perspective on the greatest of stories known to mankind.

  • I'll have to put up a video of my highschool doing this song. It's pretty epic.

the ending vocals were kinda weak, but pretty. Plus, the image of I think father in the background was, outstanding. I love how they did that,

  • We're doing this show for our high school. I"m Cain. And I love this song so much. It brings tears to my eyes when I hear it.

  • HEY!, I'm cain too! (musical on march 18-20th at mason senior high) Can you guess where we are headed boy?, because I can't.

hurray for cain 'in' jokes (If you diddnt get it, read the lyrics for your solo)

  • Haha no I got it. Good one.

  • my school is doing this play now. i have a solo in "the waste land" the first female solo at that :) and then a solo in piece of eight. and generation.

  • Stephen Schwartz sure writes some real tear jerkers. This song and "For Good" are my two favorites he's written

  • This is the audition song for our musical

  • The acapella section is way too bright! It also needs to be more rubato!

  • It's vibrato. Not rubato.

  • @paklak - rubato is the word I was looking for,

  • @paklack)--->rubato is a musical term referring to the slight speeding up or slowing down of the tempo

  • True, very good performance though

  • they all have such a great sound together! they blend perfectly!

  • i cried when i first heard this song

  • When I saw this show, I cried so much during this song.

  • my productions company just did this. i love it!!!

  • this song is beautiful, i am in mr grace's class! he makes us sing it PERFECTLY and when we dont sing it in pitch, he yells! lol its funny! I LOVE THIS SING! HI . It is cool. PEACE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • we are singing this in chorus, were 12, mr grace make us sound AMAZING in this song, this song kicks ass

  • No fair! Even though this is AMAZING, and probably a community theater or something, you get to have kids in it!! When we did this, all I was was a chicken in "The Naming"

  • really good to bad you lose the harmoney in the word home

  • this is by far the saddest song of C O Eden

  • i'm da lil girl in orange haha xxxxx

  • wow amazing voice!!

  • Bravo!

  • Brilliant. The first Eve I've found on YT who actually acts like the VERY old lady that Eve is. Most on here are far too spritely. Well done. Debbie xx

  • absolutely amazing eve and video work. we're doing this right now and this is really good!

  • she dose a better job as eve then she dose of mama grace

  • GREAT EVE!!!! :-)

  • BRAVO!!!! i love eve's voice!

  • haha at 3:16 the lady in orange looks hilarious, staring into the camera like that. Good singing

  • Wow. That was beautiful. The Eve in this is really good!!! Bravo!!!

  • this is an absolute fabulous version best of any version ive seen to date... weldone & eve is amazing id seriously recommend she take her career further

  • that lady looked old!!!!

  • and in reality shes not that old

  • Its a little soprano heavy. Sometimes. But the tenors and altos should have been louder. But thats just my personal opinion. It was nice though. I didn't feel the cast giving off as much energy as her though. But there were smaller children, and its always harder with them. But good all around. :)

  • It is soprano heavy because the females out-number the males by a wide margain. This play has to rank at the top of my favorites.

  • Well yeah. I am not blind. I can see them. All I am saying is maybe the tenors and altos should have rocked it out a little harder and the sopranos mabye to bring down the volume a tad. I just sometimes get a little nitpicky I guess. Sorry. I guess.

  • @Jos7h whats wrong with sopranos thier the most talented i wanna see u sing that high

  • I think this is quite good.

  • We all love to have a big song at the end of a first act. But, in a way I like this done they way these folks have done it. She's going home. She's not going to be with them again. It's sad and I think this reflects this thought. I LOVE the costumes.

  • i agree i think the last chorus should be huge and powerful and this didnt live up to that. No offense but our production was better.

  • this is soo good. when i was in this, every single actor ON STAGE was crying.

  • i totally agree with you, on the crying thing all three nights of our performance i cried while i was on stage because the person who played eve for us has an amazing voice.

but this is nothing compared to ours.

  • I mean. It's good. Eve sounds great.... and the chorus sounds good, but I actually had the pleasure of seeing the American Premiere at Papermill Playhouse and I don't mean to compare productions because I don't like to do that- but just in general, the last chorus ("Children of Eden, you will reclaim us...") was just so understated. It was still pretty... but I feel like it's supposed to be huge.

  • I cry EVERY time I hear this song.

  • Wow. Chills.

  • Children of Eden is, by far, my favorite Musical and this looks like a great production. Thanks for posting.

  • For such an old lady, she's gotta a dang strong voice!! :-) Amazing. She can over power the whole cast!

  • shes not old !!!its make up !shes only a younging yet !

  • shes not actually that old at all haha, its just make up!

  • and the make-up artist did a great job!

  • its sounds beautiful, but everyone looks bored. they should be sad that eve is dying

  • Beautiful...

  • This scene makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME.

  • wow

  • I think this is the best version of the song on youtube! Way to go! ^^

  • I beg to differ, look at the version that harvest rain did of thsi song much better voice and production. And everyone doesn't look like fluro nomads

  • That is a great version, but this is just as excellent.

    Great job!

  • It looks like you borrowed costumes from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

  • Wow. Beautiful job. I was in a production of CHILDREN OF EDEN last summer. I was Father. What a great job. Once again, fantastic job!

  • Woah Dang!

  • OMG this looks sooo good!!!! Denise is brilliant in this vid!!

  • Wow ! Don't need to buy the dvd now ! I will just watch it here. Great idea, You should put the links on the webpage.
