If anyone lives in ontario this show is going on in Woodstock at the local high school (woodstock collegiate institute) its amazing. december 14-17 at 7:30 15$ at the door. Hope to see you there
im going to be in this show. im going for a 4 hour rehearsal in an hour and 10 minutes. i have been in 45 plays and recitals and have apeared on tv 9 times.
We are supposed to do this next summer but my director for Hello, Dolly! Told me in probably won't get alot of fans cuz it just has pretty music...not alot of action.
"Soprano heavy"??? It's UNISON! And they're all watching the music director. This is funny funny shit. Is Father wearing a silver spaceman suit?? One of the sadder renditions I've seen. I'm sure this chick is the best singer she knows.
I worked in live theater sound production for over a decade and out of the many works I was involved in "Children of Eden" and "Rent" are - for me - the greatest treasures of all. The themes, messages, music are incredible. I was moved by each and every performance.
It disappoints me that "Children of Eden" did see a wider popularity. Could it be its interpretation of the christian message? I think it presented a fresh perspective on the greatest of stories known to mankind.
my school is doing this play now. i have a solo in "the waste land" the first female solo at that :) and then a solo in piece of eight. and generation.
this song is beautiful, i am in mr grace's class! he makes us sing it PERFECTLY and when we dont sing it in pitch, he yells! lol its funny! I LOVE THIS SING! HI . It is cool. PEACE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No fair! Even though this is AMAZING, and probably a community theater or something, you get to have kids in it!! When we did this, all I was was a chicken in "The Naming"
Brilliant. The first Eve I've found on YT who actually acts like the VERY old lady that Eve is. Most on here are far too spritely. Well done. Debbie xx
this is an absolute fabulous version best of any version ive seen to date... weldone & eve is amazing id seriously recommend she take her career further
Its a little soprano heavy. Sometimes. But the tenors and altos should have been louder. But thats just my personal opinion. It was nice though. I didn't feel the cast giving off as much energy as her though. But there were smaller children, and its always harder with them. But good all around. :)
Well yeah. I am not blind. I can see them. All I am saying is maybe the tenors and altos should have rocked it out a little harder and the sopranos mabye to bring down the volume a tad. I just sometimes get a little nitpicky I guess. Sorry. I guess.
We all love to have a big song at the end of a first act. But, in a way I like this done they way these folks have done it. She's going home. She's not going to be with them again. It's sad and I think this reflects this thought. I LOVE the costumes.
i totally agree with you, on the crying thing all three nights of our performance i cried while i was on stage because the person who played eve for us has an amazing voice.
I mean. It's good. Eve sounds great.... and the chorus sounds good, but I actually had the pleasure of seeing the American Premiere at Papermill Playhouse and I don't mean to compare productions because I don't like to do that- but just in general, the last chorus ("Children of Eden, you will reclaim us...") was just so understated. It was still pretty... but I feel like it's supposed to be huge.
Eve was good but the chorus looks dead. No expression, no animation. It's not an "active song" perse but you still have to act people

That one line "I still believe is second chances" is the most powerful line in the show. Because it is the meaning of the entire show.

I'll have to put up a video of my highschool doing this song. It's pretty epic.
the ending vocals were kinda weak, but pretty. Plus, the image of I think father in the background was, outstanding. I love how they did that,

The acapella section is way too bright! It also needs to be more rubato!
ryry16123 2 years ago
It's vibrato. Not rubato.
paklack 2 years ago
@paklak - rubato is the word I was looking for,
ryry16123 2 years ago
@paklack)--->rubato is a musical term referring to the slight speeding up or slowing down of the tempo

It is soprano heavy because the females out-number the males by a wide margain. This play has to rank at the top of my favorites.

i agree i think the last chorus should be huge and powerful and this didnt live up to that. No offense but our production was better.
