Yah, I was thinking, coyotes, really? Coyotes can be a pest on farms, sometimes to young children wandering on their own if they're really starving (though they usually stay clear of people - they're pretty small).
Bears mostly avoid people too, especially smaller black bears like that. They'd usually only attack if they were cornered. Cougars on the other hand are hunters that are more than capable of stalking a lone person down a path and pouncing without been seen until it's too late.
i see them all the time in the properties. i was talking with another homeowner up there and he said some of his neighbours actually leave trash out so they can get pictures when the bears arrive. how lame is that?
wow! i hope i get some bears in my yard when i move to canada, in england the most terrifyingly ferocious animal is the pigeon, actually.. ducks can be pretty mean too.
