When I first went to London I stopped putting my wallet in my back pocket and have since kept it in my front, so much safer that way. And it doesn't make you look like you have a big bum!

Brussells is awful for this sort of thing. The policde are so laisse faire and the penalties, even upon conviction, so light that there is no deterrent present.
If you get fined €1000 for pickpocketing, but have stolen 10 wallets already that day and netted €50 from each then it only takes two days of crime to pay off any fines you get.
Lock them up for 10 years, THAT would be a deterrent.

I think that anybody suggesting that foreign people are more likely to steal is terrible. However, it's not only the people posting prejudice rubbish on this site, the BBC only ever seem to use foreign pictures when they publish e-fits on Crime Watch UK. Im surprised that the Liberal people of UK hav'nt said anything actually, it's been like this for about 20 years now.
