I love Cosair's very much as I do all WWII Planes. The distinctive "whistling" noise of this is what I love which is why the Japanese named it "whistling death."
Tha a/c was originally a F4U-5NL bought by the Argentine Navy, then bought by a french collector who restored the bird and converted it to F4U-7 specifications...Good to see it flying again!
it was a plane that during world war 2 scored almost as many kills as the hellcat and in my opinion outclassed the p-51 and even p-38 in almost all aspects including speed, firepower, and manouverablility. it was the first prop plane that proved they still had roles in combat cause it could hit speeds in excess of 500 mph.
Ol' Hose Nose flies again! Pretty bird.

This airplane is beautifully restored and is from Flotille 14F, which flew in support of French Union troops at Dien Bien Phu.

Just remember, if it were not for America and Britain they would be speaking German in Paris now.
