I think it is useless to use 5 combo points on SnD it takes a lot of time to get 5 combo points. I always use SnD with 1 combo point and when it wears off i just use one sinister strike SnD and back on eviscarate. It saves you alot of time, energy and you don't get any penalty by doing that. Tell me if I'm wrong about this but this is the way I do it.

@Morfinclownen depends on what ur doing, aoe or single target. Assasination is pro single target dps, but combat is way way WAY better for aoe. sure u can spam fan of knives in assasination spec but it wont be the even half the dps u get in combat when u got the caps and stuff

and saying that blade furry changed "unfortunelty" is way off

its a huge upgrade because it stays on as long as u want which is awesome for trash mobs

when i go in dungeons with a big mob pull use blade furry and killing spree and u will be pulling 14k dps minimum and never use and dont use adrenalin rush unless ur low on energy or unless ur useing blade furry...

Well Sense the patch Blade Flurry Is a turn off and on .

I find combat 900909999 Times better than assasination With mobs. Cause once you tricks the tank and pop blade flurry and killing spree Its like an instant 13k dps.

If you read deadly poison it says applys blah blah blah when this reaches 5 stacks it causes your poison from your other weapon to apply thus making instant hitting a lot faster than deadly. using 2 instant would not be as good as you dont get that help off of deadly. :) so thats the reason why you were told to put instant in main hand and deadly in off hand :P

sorry to gripe but i cant see atall how you are only doing about 5.3k my combat rogue is currently just elegable cata heroics and is kickin out about 8.5k DPS, some boss fights such as Rajh in Halls of origination it will rise to about 9-10k depending if we have BL or hero.

I know it won't make a huge difference overall, but why did you use instant poison over wounding poison. The loss of potent poisons to stack deadly quickly and the higher proc rate of wounding makes it the superior poison to use to get a higher dps even though it has a lower actual damage than instant.

You say to stay away from mastery but remember that Combat Rogues' mastery directly affects the Combat Potency talent. Try not to think of it for just the dps of the extra offhand swings themselves.

@Wilvan1809 Unfortunately, the proc rate is so low that you aren't gaining any noticable amounts of energy from the mastery. Those 35 procs generate 7 procs of potency, which means 105 energy. Each mastery point (179 mastery rating) gives you 1.25% extra MG proc chance. That means you are spending 179 mastery rating to gain 10 energy every 269 main hand swings. No thanks.

@symillickg Yeah, they need to buff the hell out of Rupture and the mastery. That will both bring Combat in line with other DPS specs, and make the rotation a tad more interesting. For the record, most dps specs have been revamped to be very interesting to play, even stuff like Frost Mage, Marks Hunter, Ret Pally, etc.

If u get glyph of revealing strike and glyph of rupture it far more out dps's eviscerate, also you want to pop ur cooldowns when u get ur deep insight for max damage, ur supposed to use wound poison... test it, it does a higher percentage, and lastly y did u ambush? opening with SS is much better. Im not in beta but i know the changes, i sustain 12k on dummies as combat atm at 80 and pull 21k on saurfang
