I got a questioin..... When I opened up ProTools and looked under the plug-ins I don't see Reason at all. I thought Rewire was a part of Reason 5. But evidently... I'm missing something. What should I do ?
@fingerwaves Your issue may be resolved by uninstalling both programs, and then reinstalling them. I have not heard of this issue yet, but PT has been having some strange unexplainable issues lately. I for instance can't load a session on my iMac when Im using my firebox, but on my Macbook Pro, it works fine. I think avid may have made some programing errors with Pro Tools 9. I hope the uninstalling works for you. Sorry I could not be of more help.
ok, i really need some help, i have a Interface Digidesign 96 Io Pro Tools Hd, Reason is installed and runnin, same as pro tools 8, but the Reason don't appear in the instrument session of the pluggins or any other session, some people said to download ReWire 1.7 2, i did but for some reason it's not installing, i think reason it's not openning because i dont heave this digi rewire, really need some help...
@chaulindapepa Im sorry I don't have any information in regards to your issue. If you are running Pro Tools HD, I would re-install all of the drivers. That may work for HD, since it pulls most of its memory from the processing cards. If that does not work you should consult the avid forums to see if some one has posted a more accurate answer.
@GTrizza Using rewire allows you to intergrate another program to be used at the same time. It all comes down to how you produce. If you only use one program then you can do that. But if you want to use Reason for example to lay down some drum tracks, and you like the Redrum, or Kong interface more than any other drum programer, then this tool is for you.

Thanks. Question: When I have Reason 4.0 (in Rewire mode) and Pro Tools 7.4 open at the same time, I want to control an instrument with my Axiom 61in either program. Now, when I play the keyboard it triggers both the NN-19 in Reason and the B4 instrument in Pro Tools. How do I separate them. Thanks!
Reason should open up when you open Pro Tools. If it doesn't then you have to click on one of the insturment tracks and open the rewire patch. but if you creat wav tracks and Set the BUS in to the bus out of the insturment tracks then you can REC the beat from reason into Pro Tools. and then you can make all the insturment tracks inactive. there are videos on how to do this.
If you have a vdeo card that supports two screens then you set that up by right clicking on the desktop, go to prsonalize, Display settings, you should see a window with to two screens on it, click on the second one and two boxes wil light up click extend to monitor then save the settings. when you open any program now you just have to move it to that screen. for pro tools you have to minimize it and drag it out for reason click and drag it over.
You have to use the quantize in protools if you show all inputs in the Mix window then you can click the button im going to point at it in the video. as for the long notes make sure that the instument is set right in reason. Im going to look into it more for you though.

What happen if you have to close pro tools and reopen it at a later date, do u still have to open reason by the same occasion?
