  • wait...Did I watched all your videos already!?

    noooooo!

  • I used to go to a babysitter a long time ago, and she had an NES with a ton of games ad one of them was this game. No one there could get very far, but one girl who every now and the would come over could beat this game easily, this was back before you could look it up on the internet or look at a guide. She was annoying but was a genius when it came to videogames, I remember watching her play the Dragon Warrior/Quest games and she knew every thing about them. I to this day can't beat it.

  • Great Review RobMan!

Inspired me to get a copy myself ;)

  • This game needs a remake/sequel...big time!

  • is there a sequel

  • 5:05 change to Jose lol just some random mexican dude.

  • So Rob, were you able to solve the ridiculous globe puzzle without a walkthrough?

  • Too bad games like this are scoffed at in this day and age thanks to Gamefaqs and cheats. Back then you didn't have these type of resources and it made the experience that more amazing when you figured it out. Telling your friends that you did it was an accomplishment and the feeling was that of quite an adventure.

  • The knitted triforce from New Game Stuff Episode 6 is up on the shelf, but that was posted after this was!

  • Great to see RobertManual with his own episode. You two are truely awesome!

  • WOW that game is mind rape

  • Goom? :)

  • This was so cool and entertaining.. I like your talks and topics.

True, many games back in the days had obscure puzzles..

  • What an obscure game, I am really surprised at its gameplay mechanics, but I will be honest, when Rob went into the explanation of the orb puzzle, I think I may want to avoid this game (unless I use a walkthrough as suggested) LOL :)

  • I remember seeing this game in Nintendo Power back in the day.... I always thought it looked neat but never tried it!! Magic of Sheherezade (spelling??) is another game like that for me.

  • Wish episodes were a lil more frequent lol.....big fan of it

  • Nice change having Rob do a full review. He's gotten pretty damn good at this.

I remember renting this game because it was the only one I hadn't played back in the day. I could not even pass the start lol.

  • AWESOME ROB MAN! - thow im not sure if im gonna buy the game now - theres noooooo way ive got the patience for it! - thanks for the review!

  • More Robman reviews! Top notch as always guys!

  • @TeamMountainGaming

it's not johnny in this review, it's robman

  • Pretty cool. I had never even heard of this game before.

  • What a unique game to review! I always thought I was one of the only people who thought this game was a classic. Great job Rob!

  • When you mentioned "Silver head", I immediately thought of "Legends of the Hidden Temple" haha.

  • Great review, keep em' coming.

  • the musics kinda quite

  • @TeamMountainGaming

LOL this is a lesson that you should watch the whole vid before commenting.

  • @wiiner11 i did watch the entire thing before i commented, i just had the volume kinda low so it was hard to hear the music :P HCG always plays the best music in the background- always very 90's-ish arcade-y, i love it!

  • @HappyConsoleGamer OH! haha i didnt hear it the first time! love ya johnny and rob! (in the most man-to-man way possible)

  • PLEASE SELL ME THE HYLIAN SHIELDIN THE BACKGROUND

  • I have this game and I loved it. I never got the chance to beat it, but maybe I should. The tomb exploring was a positive for me, but the simplistic fight system was a half and half for me."You can only fight the next monster, after you level up."

  • johnny will you have my babies

  • Sounds like regrettable fun

  • Not many shows can pull off a host switch and still feel like the sub'ed show; But, it is always nice to see that bald head. :D

  • @Quirkification all jokes aside, why don't johnny and rob make a video showing themselves (with pics of course) talking about their gaming memories? they already do it but it is just talking. they should include visuals like the street (google maps should have it), their childhood friends and family in pics, and of course objects that they held dear as kids. this would make for an amazing episode!

  • Love when robman is on the show

  • I remember how hard this game was. I test games on emulators before I buy them as far as retro games go. I played this and could get past one of the puzzles, so I quit! But it is great. I'll definitely pick it up one day!

  • Great video Robman. Never heard of this game before.

  • Great review Robman!

Despite enjoying many dungeon style games (Dungeon Masters, Shadowgates, Stonekeep etc). I could never really get into this game. Owning just the cart may have been the reason since I never knew there was a map with clues.

  • If this game was remade, I'd check it out [if it's a good remake]!

  • Nice review, Rob.

More info about the Asteka series can be found from:

    hardcoregaming101 . net / asteka / asteka . htm

  • Great review Robman

  • Love your passion Robman.

  • Awesome video Rob, you and Johnny keep up the great work.

  • Man, I'm glad this vid came up on my sub box. i fucking love these videos! but for a sec i was like "Holy shit!I mustve missed an episode!" but nvm...overall love this vid :D

  • I loved how you just had to "figure it out on your own" in the 8 bit days:)

  • How could anyone dislike ANY of Happy Console Gamer vids?!?!?

  • VIVA MEXICO CABROOONEES!

  • @TheGamerGForever VIVA HIJO DE LA CHINGADA!

  • 3 Words: Megaman Legends 3DS

  • Oh yea, try to finish AD&D hilsfar lol

  • Great review! I played it back in 1989! Don't think I beat it though, I might have

  • Awesome review:D That puzzle sounds absolutely brutal@_@ Good ole Falcom though:D It's always really interesting to see some of their other lesser known titles see releases outside of Japan. Keep up the excellent work:D Have a good day!

  • Good review, robman!! I've never heard of that game before!!

  • It's a good look at retro games that maybe kind of obscure to everyone else instead of the super popular typical ones that are always shown, good stuff.

  • :-o this game hurts my brain

  • How the fudge did you figure that out? Wtf? With the egg , flute, brick and a stop watch.

  • For awesome retro game videos and more, go to my channel and subscribe for updates on when I upload,

    Thanks,

    TheRagingGamerTV

  • Yessssss

  • Excellent episode robman, i will give that game a try, need to purchase it first tough.

  • I have to be honest this sounds like a terrible game. Even for the time it was released. But, still a good review of a game I had never heard of till now.

  • Robman, the Man.

  • Thanks Robman. I will have to try and hunt this one down.

  • Back in the day was a wedsneday.

  • Awesome review, man! :D

  • Hm, the INFAMOUS Falcom, eh? I thought they overall had a pretty good reputation. They made some very good games like the Ys series, Dragon Slayer series and my favorite MegaCD game Popful Mail!

I'm just kidding, I suppose he just mispronounced the word famous.

But just for the sake of clarity:

    Famous means well known.

Infamous also means well known BUT well known for having done bad things.

Bit of a differance if you ask me.

Other than that, great review of a game I've never played!

  • @warylv He prolly meant they are infamous for making games that have challenging puzzles or are somewhat difficult. Since many actually find that a bad thing.

  • @FailedElectrician

Well, maybe your'e right... I don't know. English is really only my second language so maybe I misinterpreted his tone of voice when he said it or something?

  • @warylv I don't know either Lol... For all I know you could be right. Just trying to give Robman a bit more credit. But yeah. Cause Robman is Awesome.

  • can i get a pazner dragoon seris review

  • @gqunit69

Yeah, would have been awesome with a review of the Panzer Dragoon series if he has has the games :)

  • The names of the monsters reminded me of El Pollo Diablo XD

  • Fantastic review! Still after years of watching retro video game reviewers online there are still hidden gems to be found!

  • Here's another forgotten gem: Little Samson

  • 4:20 to 5:20 reminds me of star tropics with the submarine code had to go find it out by calling the tip infoline.

You had to be a genius to figure that puzzle out without any help.No wonder why johnny sold it to you.

  • @jedizombie420 What you trying to say? Johnny wasn't pro enough to figure it out? Lol.

  • Good stuff Rob Man, nice review. I am trying to get Mega Man/Rock Man Power & Fighter for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. It is the handheld version of the arcade cabinet you have. HAHA I'm going for the scaled down version. Interested to play an all Mega Man boss fight game! AS IF THEY AREN'T HARD ENOUGH ALREADY LOL!

  • I MUST buy this game!!!!!!

  • Just beat last window on the ds and was so glad to be able to jump onto google when I got really stuck on one puzzle, some gaming puzzles used to be so frustrating back in the day and even though it used to be rewarding to do it all yourself I like havin online help when I need it. No more leavin games tht are to difficult. Great video Robman :)

  • I often complain that modern games guide players through far too much with endless tutorials, sign posting of important locations and linear design where you can't fail to do the right thing, but this game looks like it goes too far in the opposite direction.

Still, at least it's not Heroes of the Lance.

  • Cool, I didn't know this was developed by Falcom. I remember seeing the box at the video rental store but never checked it out. Not sure that I have the patience I once had to make it through a game like that though. Great review!

  • great review, not gonna lie that game looks like no fun

  • Awesome retrospective. RPGs aren't my thing, but if I see this game anywhere, I'll probable pick it up.

  • Please Do a review of ''TOMBI/TOMBA'' for the ps1

  • cool! love the art, old anime style and all. This game seems pretty well made for the time. Still, I can't play games that expect me to solve terribly obscure mysteries with almost no clues hahaha

  • cool, love these old anime styles!

  • Yay! Great review Robman!

  • This game looks great, never seen it in the uk, I will have to see if I can find it on ebay

  • Amazing review of course! But listen Robman, YOU NEED ypur own channel dude. Please, just think about it. Look forward to more from the both of you.

  • Waw, I love Maya & Aztec stuff !!

  • Son of a bitch you sold out!!! 30 second ads

this is still the best channel on youtube

  • Happy Console Gamer Channel shouldn't have a dislike button. This game reviews are truly AWESOME!

  • Yes I agree. Reviews from both are the best way to go.

  • It's funny how Rob and Johnny's accent are so similar, and they talk in exactly the same way :)

  • sounds fucking impossible.

    but fuck yeah!

    ROB MAN!!!

  • ROBMAN!!!

  • Abut haha

  • Time better spent playing any Beat Em Up ever made.

  • Pre-Demon's Souls difficulty

  • Great review dude.

  • Really nice review man! Very straightforwarded and clear. Congrats!! Keep it up!

  • That was bizarre, I was expecting John, for a very brief second I thought he'd shaved his head, great vid' non the less.

    How's that movie comming along?

  • Holy crap that sounds insanely difficult, sounds like not the type of game for me. D:

Great review though, Rob should do more reviews he kicks ass.

  • Good review, doesn't sound like much of a gem though XD

  • Robman=WIN!

  • Oooh the Master Sword!!:D

  • Great review Rob. I can't say I've ever played this game, but it looks really interesting!

  • favorite youtube channel, but need more vids! XD

  • RobMan = Awesome

  • Always wondered what this was like.. used to see this in video game mags back in the day... nice!

  • This one passed by me back in the day. Thanks for the informative review Rob!

  • I remember this one, but barely.

  • Cool review, I liked hearing all the details about the game

  • I never heard of this game before, great recap! Also, nice Video Games Live shirt I went to see VGL a couple days ago.

  • Cool review Robman I definitely enjoyed it. Looks like a fun game and Shadowgate was the first thing that came to mind for me. I will have to look for this game and give it a try. But I will be using a walkthrough for sure.

  • It sounds like a good game for James AVGN to review.

  • the only thing i like about this game is the Map - its amazing looking ( considering the tmeline)..its nice to you robman to do a solo review

  • I vaguely remember hearing about this game. But wow, I can't get over that puzzle you walked us through. Totally insane! lol

    Great review! :)

  • Fantastic review. Robman and Johnny both speak in a way that don't bore you. That's how I'm able to not only watch these reviews and videos, but be genuinely interested in what you guys are talkin about. Great stuff!

  • I can't believe how good you guys are.

  • Cool video man, I'd never heard of that game before.

  • Thanks for sharing this one. Never heard of it. Good job Robman :)

  • you have some of the best videos that remind me of childhood :-)

    Thanks!

  • This is one of those games I got in a trade..didn't even play it yet since I'd never heard of it, but from what I can see, it looks pretty good!

  • You two put so much time and editing into your videos man! i loved this review thanks for taking the time to star in it Rob :)

  • i never play games that don't support game genie!

  • @AlirazaVideoGames I would refer to them as games the Game Genie does not support not that the game does not support the Game Genie.

  • @AxiomofDiscord well this game is less about damage taken and leveling up than it is about puzzle solving. it somewhat reminds me a bit of chrono trigger...maybe because of the prehistoric era and going back and forth to solve one storyline or part...time to pull out chrono trigger DS! :D

  • Oh man! This game was amazing. The atmosphere, the spooky characters....

It had an interface that borrowed from ICOM, traditional RPG's, and those cool point clickers like Secret of Monkey Island. It was woven together nicely!

    Nice story and music too.

Jose was a dick, too. FIne review, dude.

  • Excellent review :) i never heard of this game before

  • Nice video, guys!

  • excellent review

  • wow hard game!

  • Really excellent review Robman.

    PLEASE listen to this suggestion...

I would WAY rather videos like this, just talking with footage of the game instead of FX driven, story line stuff. I would prefer if you and Jonny did shorter, more simple videos like this rather than wait for a more scripted, flashy episode, anyway, much love, keep em coming!

  • This game it's pretty similar to Sweet Home (Famicom),but, look's even better :D

  • I'm really feeling Robman joining the reviews! It'll def bring more variety and for goodness of the viewers, more content :)

  • @eladbrit Yeah, he's great. I like him and Johnny equally.

  • @eladbrit Yeah I was so confussed and then I was like oh shit robman doing the whole damn review.

  • Outstanding review gents. Rob Man, you're presentation style does it again!! Great stuff!

  • well done robman

  • exellent review, i dont think i would have worked that game out when i was a kid, great vid.

  • cmon robman, review that goddamn megaman x series so we can all be satisfied...:D

  • I remember this game very well and it made me pull my hair out because it was dang hard. I never finished either lol.

  • I thought his name was Horsey not Jose!

Obscure Bombcast Refrences FTW! Seriously tho' probs one of the funniest ever Bombcast moments and everytime i hear someone say Jose i start Laughing

Great Review and love Robman getting his own Episode.

  • Great Episode Johnny!

  • Rob man is thee shit

  • that game looks pretty sweet, I'm gonna keep an eye out for it :)

  • Nice to see you Rob Man. Very good video! :)

  • This was one of those games I always seen at the video rental stores, but never had the pleasure of playing. It is definitely something I'm interested in adding to the nes collection since it is an anime style game. Thanks for letting me know that Rob.

  • great job rob - hope to see you solo it a bit more...thats not to say I don't have a man-crush on johnny...but that's also not to say I don't have a crush on Rob...wait a second...perhaps a menage a trois?

    lol keep up the excellence

  • Shining force is better and is also on the genesis

  • Talkin about Skillz these guys got lots of, pretty sweet review, I never heard about this game before and I also like 8-bit oldschool games

  • Rob that was "Mega" man :-D

I guess that was a lame joke. Nice to see a solo vid.

Well Done and keep em coming

  • Very awesome, solid video from Rob! Great stuff! Keep up the fantastic work!

  • Good to see you RobMan!

  • Awesome looking game never saw it before really awesome review.

  • good stuff!

  • Graphics look sweet, wonders if it's gonna be on vc

  • @battlestarnomore nothing comes on the VC since the launch of it...too little, too late

  • @starwarsnerd95 Yeah, sure do.

Do you have any cutting and/or editing skills or is it all Johnny?

  • More solo-vids for Rob, Yay!

Another game that Europe missed out on. Might be why I've never heard of it.

Maybe the puzzles are a bit on the easy side but otherwise it seems cool :P

  • Will you guys be doing something about Portal 2 or Mortal Kombat? That would be great if you did!

  • I had a game like this on Gameboy. I think it was a North American RPG. Might have been Dungeons and Dragons.

  • This game looks impossible! LOL. Great job ROB MAN!

  • This didn't appear in my sub-box for some reason but anyway great video!

  • nice game and review very old school & specific XD

  • It seems like Rob Man broke into Johnny's house for some reason.

  • @thorbahn3 yeah he broke into his best friends house like some hood.

  • @thorbahn3 LOL. Good one!

  • whats the next video for 117 :)

do you know the reference? LOL
