what a movie, what a song. A really wonderful and magical selection for this touching film. Who wouldn't fall in love with a man like Redford coming to a godforsaken town to represent all that is great about "getting away,"
would love to hear the full version. I remember this song, sometimes I think of it, with the little girl walking down the tracks with her sisters old gown and her ragged doll. This House condemed. great song!!!!Thank you
I've been looking for this song. I never forgot this ever since I saw the movie when I was younger. Then I heard it played over the radio once, that's when I remember again this song. So I asked somebody to look for it and the version he found was by Astrud Gilberto, so thanks.
Ahhhh, I just love this song. I also loved the movie. One of Natalie Wood's finest in my opinion, She was so beautiful. Really displayed what a wonderfully talented actress she was, Young Robert Redford didn't look too shabby himself I must say, Thank you so much for putting up this song and video. I love the way you went to different scenes and captured her beautiful eyes, I am a singer, and I would love to locate the instrumental track for this song. Do you know where I can find it?
I have the whole song, I only posted the first half because I wanted to make a short tribute video. If any of you would like the whole song, please tell me and I'll work on getting it up!
The song is the main theme of the movie "This property is condemned" with Natalie Wood and Robert Redford from 1966. Look the following youtube-adress:

You can here the song in the first minutes and inthe the last minutes of the movie.
In October 1987 I was in Curitiba, Brazil listenning to the radio. Sunddly I heard this wonderful music. Next day I asked to all my friends about this song. I memorized all words at once but I could never her it again. Noboby new. I have look it for the last 20 years! And today (Juin 2006) Here I`ve found in google! What a poetry wrote this lyric!
I've sang this song for years. My sisters and I all sang it to our babies after seeing the movie "this property is condemned". in August of 2005 my nephew was killed at the age of 17 and I was asked to sing it with his guitar at his memorial service. my sisters, nieces and even his mom sang and we had red roses and yellow balloons..it was his favorite that we sang all together..there are 5 sisters besides my sisters and I was so happy that the nieces helped. don't think I could do it myself.
It's a Beautiful song. When I go I'd like to have someone play, "Ripple" by the Grateful Dead. It's on the 'American Beauty' album. You can find it on utube.. I'm sorry for your loss.
That IS the whole song! It's by the "Gunter Kallman Chorus with Orchestra and Bells." Pretty isn't it? I first heard it back in NJ on a WOR radio show, "Rambling with Gambling".
If you ever find this song on a music box or know of somebody who could do it, please let me know. I have sang this song for years without any music. I thought I was the only person in the world that had ever heard of this song, '''My email address is lovemyfaith@hotmail,com
I would love to have this in a music box for my granddaughters, I sing this song for them all the time, It would be so SPECIAL,
Thanks alot. How do we get these uploaders to always give credit to the video artist and the audio artist so us new people to the artists will know plus credit will be given to the artists. You Tube has millions of uploads a day and can't enforce that I know.

7lloyd777, what is posted here is less than half of the song. I know, because I have the entire recording.

Yes indeed you are of course 100% correct. I got a 45rpm from eBay the other day and listened to it in it's entirety. Nice song!

I've got an Ed Ames version that I really like. It sounds more folky and is a bit faster.
