  • @Hiyyee I agree with you!

  • You know. I think the shark is just annoyed at the constant annoying heartbeat. D:

  • Morgan Freeman narrator voice:

"The shark seems more interested in the faster heart beat, oh wait a minute...Yes, it seems the shark is coming in for a closer look! Yes, indeed the shark is interested *shark bumps the cage* My oh my, the shark bumped the cage! But the shark is retreating? It appears the man in the cage shit himself...Yes, it's confirmed, the man shit himself and the shark has lost all interest" ....0_0

  • Wait... how the hell did they get those shots of the guy from outside the cage?

  • It makes sense.. if the prey is nervous, they probably know they have something the predator wants..

  • God, seriously? How much money do they waste on this shit

  • nothing is really scary weirdo

  • im runnin ninja pro ill b fine

  • imagine when u did the test and ur heartbeat really interfere the test, i bet the shark will listen to beatbox! oh yeah! come on sharky! Dance! XD

  • i like trains

  • @unipangma trains are the shit

  • @MrAmerica1995 All aboard the Shit Train =w=

  • 5 people have fast heart beat when they go in the water.

  • @abe1002

    noooo

5 people who swam sharks with a slow heart rate got attack by a great white

  • "Stay as calm as you can" Yeah right!!!!

If I was in the water with that shark, my heart would stop all together! O.o

  • isnt's less stroud a survivor guy, since when does he do sharks?

  • "perhaps his sensors are telling him that its not prey after all" yes... that thing playing sound does kinda look like the kind of prey a shark would eat...

  • Alone in the ocean! You see a great white circling you!

"Ah, ok,...gotta stay calm. Think, think! A song, yes,...that will do. Ahm, which one? Ahm,...Frère Jacques! Yes, that will do!

"Frère Jacques, frère Jacques. Dormez-vous? Dormez-vous?"

  • sharks got big mouths and muscle, we got guns and firepower

  • LOL! FUCK that cage this dudes retarded

  • Ok.. Stay clam when a greatwhite is pounding your ass seems easy eh

  • yea eetheman24 but there are also good dive stories on the net too! try the myscubastory website.. type myscubastory into google and its the first one i think !

  • I hate onions...how could you ruin a steak like that!!?

  • lol that "cage" looks like it would tear open like wet tissue

  • All the shows this guy does is sensationalised crap! Discovery must be desperate, National Geo atleast has informative docos. And, with this vid like all his others, he has proved nothing and only regurgitating what is already known.

  • "Oh yeah there is a big one down there". HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

  • you failed sharks are attracted towards eletrical things have you ever wondered why the sharks attack the engine of boat

  • ''Stay as calm as you can''. Fuck That.

  • Lol, he is like. FUCK YOU i dont want your shitty IPOD, I'ma NOM NOM NOM NOM YOU BITCH.

  • he has a heartbeat sensor

  • @ContentComa so true

  • this shark is so big

  • JUST DROP JUSTIN BIEBER IN THERE AND THEY WILL STRAIGHT UP BOUNCE!!!!

  • you should of drop justin bieber in that cage

  • Do not, I repeat, DO NOT stay at the surface of the cage like that for long.

  • @loadquicker Why not??

  • @MAJlNE Well, for one there's sharks in the area. They usually have teeth and like to bite things.

  • Did anyone notice that they sped up the camura to make it look like the shark swam fast to the cage?

  • So in other words if your in a boat and your friend is swimming in the ocean and you see a shark you don't scream at them that there's a shark about to kill them and just let them keep swimming around because they might have a better chance of surviving?

Well I hope you don't teach that to kids in school.

Guess you could calmly ask them to come back in the boat to eat something...hah

  • It's decided! Next time my parents say we're goin' to the beach, i'm hidin' under my bed!!!

  • how can u stay calm if the shark is going to bite you > !

  • i wouldn't be surprised if that shark jumped and took away his head while talking to a camera.

  • staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay calm!! oh OK

  • Keep my heart rate down?! Should I try not to get wet whist I’m at it?

  • how do you stay calm when there's a 15 foot shark in front of you?

  • @legoww2fan4life exactly lol

  • u think the could be attracted to the piss that the guy is surely putting out lol

  • haha ok Ill just stay still and VERY calm when i see a shark approaching me with his mouth wide open ready to sink his teeth in me..Illl remember to do that..JUST SIT STILL. ;)

  • cheah cheah uuhhh!!! i am the funniest rapper EVER! sub and add me as a friend YOUTUBERS. Sincerely, FRG

  • Did he die?

  • @Kory4000 Yes. he died. He is dead.

  • I'd think that sharks would be attracted to heartbeats

cause heartbeat means food, something alive that might be tasty if I was a shark and it gives off electrical currents which they are attracted to.

  • lol ,stay as calm as you can xD

with a great white on your tail? i don't think so, Swimmmm!!!!!

  • the food looks good

  • @Killzorz37 dinner is served. Bon appetit :p

  • @shenzyB :P

  • dumb ass they like the electrical impulse not the sound

  • srsly common fucking sense would have told you, something more slower and relaxed is MUCH MORE quiet and safer then say somethin fast and panicked...that like saying ok lets see which object would u notice/be interested in first, the one thats not moving at all, or the ones thats vibrating and causing noise dosent take a genius to think about this stuff

  • I have never been biten or harmed badly by a shark, but i have been in an attack. I was swimming with my cousin on a holiday in Australia, i never felt anything, i just suddenly noticed some red in the wwater around me, only a bit of red though, when i looked down further, there was a shark circling my legs, i was in the water up to about my neck so my heartbeat could be heard, it was poundingm luckily it was like carpet burn, left deep red cuts and bruises, a scar or 2. xo

  • how about using a shark against another its easy jump on 1 and steer it by using its fin and to make it chew hit it on its head

  • I would of put cocaine in its nostrils.

  • As much as I know, Sharks don't even attack u unless u bother it in some way

  • @ragib12

Or, you know, unless they're hungry and they see you as prey.

  • @ragib12 yea, sometimes its just a case of mistaken identity, we do like like seals in our wetsuits lol

  • i'm in a shark infested relax ...how the hell can you be relaxed lol?

  • @haro254

Yeah, that was some great advice of him. "Try to stay as calm as you can".

Sjeesh, wouldn't have thought of that.

  • the only way to stop these fuckers eating you if your swimming is either to swim in a little plastic pool in a desert 2000 miles from the sea or to go swimming wearing a Bin Laden exploding vest . Youll still die but at least youll not be eaten and youll take the big toothy motherfucker with you . Everything else is bullshit . If its hungry it will eat you . Because its bigger than you and it can .

  • how the shit can you stay calm when you know one of those are around?

  • sharks are very cleaver creatures but dumb in a certain way

  • sharks have sense that we dont its like magenetic feild around their bodies that helps them to navigate, and yes can sense the beat of your heart, if your anxious or calm they know

  • if u see a shark. dont be scared and do not run away.. just try to stay still and the shark might go away.

  • or scream ur longs out it causes an overload to his sensors and wil back off

  • @HamsterClawz Yeah I guess if you see a great white heading your way and you have nothing but your life to loose, it is pretty easy to stay very calm. I mean people regulate their heart-rate all the time right?

  • Is it not as simple as a shark senses something in the water thats abnormal?, ie a cage/toy heartbeat/people/and many more...i think paying attention to what these video's say is wrong....Sharks are wild and unpredictable....Always!......bit like this message lol ;)

  • oh my gosh, it's a good experiment, but really.

WHO is REALLY going to stay calm and keep a steady beat as if they're laying in some happy-go-lucky flowery field on a nice summer day while reading a book, when your really looking into the face of a shark that you KNOW could attack you at any time? XDD

  • @NightmareSkittlesz Yeah plus what do you do if it wants to rub against you in a friendly sort of way to "test" whether this thing is edible. Maybe it is possible to stop bleeding too!!!

  • @NightmareSkittlesz i no who the hell would be like o ok im in shark infested waters no big deal really

  • cause you know slowing down your heart beat is just like flicking a switch...

especially if theres a 7ft shark looking right at you...

  • 'That's a lot easier said than done.' (???) No Shit!

  • This test is SOOO STUPIDD>>. how would knowing if a shark is attracted to fast hearbeat help you.

How is any diver being attacked by a shark gonna stay calm.

This test does nothing but tell us if sharks are excited by rapid heart beat.

  • Animals can sense things. Animals are very powerfull and smart. Sharks are very powerfull creatures.

  • hahaha why does heartbeats make you sick? thats silly! the whole video makes you feel like your gonna have nightmares!

    scary! sCaRy! SCARY!

  • I would shit in my wetsuit in that stupid circular cage. Shit myself. Fuckin crazy! Humans do some crazy shit.

  • how the fuck are you suppose to stay calm when your being attacked by a shark.. eegh.

  • easy! if ur swimming with someone and u feel u gona get attacked by a shark, just make ur partner bleed a little and get as far away from him as possible! this should boost ur chances of not getting attacked!

  • I suffer from a fear of the ocean and couldn't stop laughing at this response..bc if I for whatever reason find myself in the water in the same situation I would totally do this w/o hesitation...LOL..

  • Sharks really do have good seanses. Sharks are attracked to blood. I dought they could hear your heart. But animals can seanse things.

  • Sharks only attack people when they mistake them for their favorite kind of food which is meat.

The National Association of Shark Attacks and Shark Related Snacks (NASASRS) advises against wearing meat colored swimming trunks or meat scented sun tanning lotion.

If attacked by a shark the NASASRS recommends against bleeding as this will attract other sharks.

The NASASRS also recommends always swimming with a partner as this will double your chances of not being eaten

  • @mbm13213 Well I think the sharks are to smart to attack by mistake. New research has found out, that human blood does not attract shark NEAR as much, as fish blood so that doesn't matter. 2 people thing is correct.

  • @Cooiepwns

Another good thing to do is to completely cover yourself in aluminum foil before entering the ocean.

This will trick the shark into thinking you are a robot and attacks on robots make up less than 3% of all shark attacks.

  • lol heartbeats make me feel sick :P

  • if great whites can propel themselves completely out of the water when catching seals, what makes that guy think he's safe in a cage at water level with his head sticking out of it talking to the camera

  • loool that would be funny if the shark jumped up and got him! ;)

  • @WolfishNuckajuh lol i was thinking the exact same thing!

  • @WolfishNuckajuh Just thinking that myself. I would want a cage connected to the boat so I could get back to safety within milliseconds, rather than attached by a crane device.

  • @WolfishNuckajuh thats the funniest thing ive ever heard

  • @WolfishNuckajuh because sharks can't comprehend what's needed to get the human. Plus to the shark it's not worth risking using so much energy for an unknown outcome. Plus sharks don't know what human's are, they're just curious.

  • of course the sharks gonna be fucking interested! people are foreign to them and having a pole with something shiney on it doesnt help...

  • Heartbeats don't attract sharks. If your heart rate is too high it will send them running.

  • i never said anything about heartbeats...i meant if you saw something youve never seen that looks interesting to you..wouldnt you investigate it? of course you would! for some sharks their way of investigating is biting..especialy if the waters mercy

  • Yea i was commenting on the vid lol. It's true though. And these exploratory bites virtually never take flesh. Sure, they hurt like a bitch, but it's not out of intent a shark hurts you. In fact, sharks usually bump the person with their noses and fins first. The biting just occurs if it is interested further and the human isnt fighting back. This makes them think we are okay with the contact. Sharks are far from stupid. Maybe not incredibly intelligent, but their instincts guide them amazingly.

  • Bullshit.

  • The shark hit the cage thinking, "Quit fuckin with me bitch!"

  • @gorgeousaur yep

  • @gorgeousaur no the guy asked him if the shark likes fishdicks :p (south park xD)

  • @shenzyB So you're saying he's been hanging out with Kanye West.

  • @gorgeousaur yh the shark was a gayfish

  • @gorgeousaur Haha yeah looks like it

  • he's either a fool or trying to fool us.

  • Does he think the shark is blind?! It can see the sound is coming from a bag on the end of a stick, he attacked the guy in the cage because he could see he was his bloody lunch!

  • Lol- the shark goes for the cage. He doesn't want the damn rod, he wants the diver!

  • he foiled his own experiment by being in the water himself. his own heartbeat would have messed up the results.

  • lame we need a real science show for adults not this crap

  • it is the vibrations from the sound that attracts the shark not the beat itself. The shark senses it with what you call the latral line it runs the length of the great whites body down the sides you can see it if you look hard enough at a side on image of a great white. these are magnificent creatures that need protecting.

  • Discovery Channel seems to have an audience of 2 year olds. This reminds me a of those children's books for 2 year olds with big pictures of animals in them..

  • this is sensationalist contrived shit....like a shark gives a shit!?! "right away he seems interested" (erm not really,it looks like speeded up film of a bored shark turning to me that didn't give you the responce you were looking for) lol..crap journalism how many proto steve erwin types are gona get eaten now they think they have got "the edge"and means of survival with this pseudo advice? duh! ;you might a well carry your bible and say the lords prayer as well...

  • I do'nt understand why they didn't take the human element out of that test. They should've done it WITHOUT Les being in the water, and without him trying to offer it to the shark. They could've lowered a camera down without someone holding it to get the results. I think this should be redone.

  • i like the part wen the shark was speeding really fast and crashed on the cage. i would be scared really scared btw i knew that sharks r intrested in faster heartbeats Lolsssssssssssss :P

  • The shark is smarter then the guy inside the cage .. it says by his tackle, dont fool me b1tch or i will bite your balls .. j/k :P

  • im not sure whether they attack because of the sound of a persons heartbeat but i know 1 thing 4 sure u cannot stay calm especially if the shark is swimming fast or else ur heart is more than likely to beat really quick because u r scared.

  • m not bad... it shows hes intrested cause he probly dont understand what it is..

  • that test proves nothing more than sharks live in water... pap

  • les stroud is the best

  • Shark: Swim toward the beat shark!

  • For a small test, it proves that they are 'interested' in the heartbeat, not that it attracts them to pray. Dolphins are attracted to human senses in the same way. Distressed humans are more likely to attract attention from a pod of dolphins than someone leisurely swimming.

  • rather inaccurate. could further modify more on the test. nice try duh

  • I agree

  • this test isn't so great you don't have a control.
