what is the point of this speach? I wonder how much money and research time and materials are wasted on "trying" to find out how life started. Seems to me that is it alot easier and logical to saw that god created it all. then go spend that money you would spend on darwin research and cloth the homeless and feed the hungry around the world. Makes sense to me.

Easier yes, but not logical- You might as well say life was started by blue haired pixies. It's just as valid and provable as "god". It is the purpose of the Sciences to research, investigate and experiment to discover the how and why of everything. Should Science also not investigate planetary motion, the cause of disease, or a host of other fields that have provided (or helped provide) you with a longer life, better food, a computer, flight, etc? Pesky Science, out there discovering things.

I agree with Jedi98 in theory. Except, I think we should stop spending time building churches, mosques, and synagogues, giving them tax exemption, subsidizing them, and then use all of that money and spare time and money for feeding the hungry and clothing the homeless.

Plus, you're missing all the benefits evolution science gives us. Many diseases, e.g. heredetary ones, can be fought with the knowledge we gain from this research. Science is rarely ever wasted, and it usually indirectly DOES work towards feeding and clothing people, so to speak.
