wasn't it a shearwater trip in bahamas where some guy recently got munched by a bull last week?! crazy stuff. i've never once felt threatened by bulls while diving - guess you can never be too careful though!!!
The Ganges shark, Glyphis gangeticus, is a rare species of fresh water shark that dwells in the Ganges River. It should not be confused with the Bull shark, which also inhabits the Ganges River and is sometimes referred to as the Ganges shark.
So...I couldn't really tell which one was the bull and which was the tiger. I could just barely see some stripes or spots on one of them but they were very light. I know the bull sharks are freshwater sharks but what freshwater do they swim in? Anybody know...?
They are able to swim up freshwater rivers, but I believe thats mostly to lay young so they are safe in their early stages. They have swam up rivers in africa and also in the US. JAWS was based on a series of Bull Shark attacks in freshwater that people thought was a Great White. Soon they figured out Great Whites aren't able to and singled out the Bull Shark as the culprit.
If you like sharks check out adoptashark (dot)com where they let you adoptashark and you get all the data from the satellite tag they have on the sharks, I adopted a hammerhead shark, very cool
Always a stupid cynic like inkspillz. That was amazing how the aquarium glass would move forward and backward with you and surround you nearly 360 degrees!
no bull sharks
