OMG you guys do not know f*cking irate I was for paying 4 F*cking dollars for what was not even a full issue worth of story! This incredibly poor purchase was my fault entirely, though. This being a Marvel book I should have been prudent and flipped through the book before purchasing. Lesson learned! Incidentally, what do you guys think of the Avengers books going to $4? Are/will you be buying them?
Thanks for joining in BlackPhoenix! Jose and I did a review of the new Avengers books, which I'll have up within the next day or so. Sorry I'm running behind. I bought #1 just to read it, but can't justify staying with the title for reasons I'll explain in the review.
Jose's anger IS contagious, but don't let it infect you! ;-)
I agree on the price hike. Problem is, lotsa folks bought the book, thus eliminating any deterrent to Marvel discontinuing their current practice of charging more for less.
Whoa, Mason, is that Punisher story only 16 pages? I didn't take a count. If it is, then I'd have to change my review a bit on the book. I could've sworn it was 22 though.
Do you remember when Marvel did 100 page giant issues back around 1999-2002. Back then Quesada seemed to have good ideas that didn't hurt fans.
Now they seem to want to gouge money out of fans which reminds me of the early 90's and hurts my love for comics.
Thank god for books like Solomon Kane which takes like 30 minutes to read and still only costs 2.99. Marvel should be ashamed of these stunts that they're pulling because the actual books are good...their business tactics stink tho
The recent numbers also show that Marvel has a significant majority of the comics market, so not only are they charging more for there books, people are still buying them.
COME ONE MARVEL JUNKIES! IT WON'T GET BETTER UNTIL YOU STOP BUYING IT!
Marvel should price all #1 comics 1.99$ instand of 2.99$ to attract new readers buying that book and after reading the first issue the readers can decides to continuous or not reading this series. (and then #2 and on should be sell at 2.99).
I wish that could be, but I've accepted comics at $2.99 as a reality of life. I just don't like these 3.99 and 4.99 books that are full of reprinted material and other junk I didn't ask for.

Well i dont want anyone actualy hurt, bitch slapped with a baseball bat maaaaaybe. lol jk
I think the Punisher #1 was only 16 pages of story, have to recheck.
This price hike is inexcusable.
Would a book reader pay more $ for only half the pages?? I think not.

Hey Mason. Punisher #1 was indeed a 22 page story. Due to the lack of dialogue it did feel like 16 pages though. Thanks for all your comments.

Ive been able to get literaly stacks and stacks of comics from the 70s-now for under $1.00 from a certain website online and from local dealers.
Its pathetic that i can buy roughly 20 comics (some annuals or doublesized isues) for only $10......but can only get 2 current comics for that price.
The marketing exec who OKayed this price gouge should be shot in the head on his front lawn and have $3.99 shuve up his ass.

As good as this tiny little 2 second story is... anyone who actualy buys this is guilty allowing MARVEL to arse rape us without lube.
MARVEL is blatantly slaping readers in the face and pissing on them with a 16 page story for $3.99.
