how'd you get the clutch master cylinder to work with ur stock clutch pedal? i'm about to to do an nv4500 conversion in my 71 chevy c10 and the only thing i'm really worried about is getting the clutch pedal right. or at least close any help would be great =)
Love that truck man! They sure don't build em like that anymore. Automakers complain about slow sales....if they would build stuff like that again, they'd sell em like crazy. I am in the middle of restoring an old 1953 Oldsmobile with a 303 Rocket engine. Gonna try to keep her as original as possible.
Congrats on your Jimmy. I would be lookin for a 302 for that thing. ;) Yes, I have been running premium gas because the compression is a little higher than stock. (Shaved Head) She does take a little time to warm up on cold mornings, but they are kinda rare here in Florida. :)
Gorgeous 5 window! I'm building a '46 GMC right now, POR-15ed the frame a couple days ago...waiting on rebuilt springs from local shop and a bunch of brake parts from Jim Carter. I picked up a rebuilt 216 chev mill for cheap...original motor was seized. The engine is from a 50 chev coupe that was rolled...owner decided to hot rod it when the rebuild started so the 6 had to go! Wish it was a 235 though! Oh well! Do you run premium gas? How long do you let her warm up on a cold morning?
@shipSwright I bought one for a 68 jeep gladatior with a 232 in it,im planning on eventally getting for all my point eqipped vehicles,i have a1949 chevy 4400 with a 235 in it
That stovebolt 6 sounds awesome. Did you update it to a full pressure oiling system from the stock spalsh lube? It looks like the T-5 and rear gears make the truck pretty quick. Its nice to see someone hot-rodding the stovebolt- most people dont realize that its a valve in head design and more durable than the flathead v8 ford used at the time.
It's a 1957 full pressure 235. Not original but looks like it. Next is a dual carb intake manifold, 2 carter carbs and a set of fenton headers. Thanks for the kind comments.

Very nice!
I have a '37 with the '57 235. It's stock except for the Pertronix Ignition and a split exhaust (from the PO). It ain't fast, but it sure is fun!

Nice truck, how do you like the pertronix ignition?
NVOLEON 4 years ago
Pertronix works great. Easy to install and keeps the original look as it hides under the old distibutor cap.

what kind of gas mileage are you getting with this?
surfinstyle 4 years ago
I drove this truck from Denver to Atlanta and averaged 18 mpg on the highway. I get about 14 or 15 around town. Thanks

Sweet truck. I'm doing a '47 Chevy truck and am going to use a '72 250 L6 (got for free!) and a '69 Saginaw 4 spd. Enjoy it!
