It's true, she doesn't skate like she used to anymore, but still nice enough for me to enjoy her programs.

My favorite Baiul programs were from the beginning of her skating career though. She's been through a lot and it's amazing she still skates after all that. Comparing her with other skaters who were doing more at that age is perhaps unfair, since they had different kinds of lives, different kinds of problems. Baiuls problems affected her mentally and physically.

This was just a little painful to watch in places, poor Oksana is just not the skater she was. Look at her face between 1'10 and 1'13 when she tries to raise her leg above head level, now that's a grimace of pain. Having said that though, I don't think she looks bad in terms of her weight, she is in her late twenties, of course she is not going to look the same as she did when she was 16 so give her a break! I just wish she still had the same joy in her skating...

Was it a bad video or did she only land a single axel and a FAR-underrotated Triple Toe?!? She's not even 30! Katarina Witt was performing far under her peers when she reinstated in 1994 at age 28-- but at least she landed 3-4 triple jumps in a program.

easy on the criticism NO GAMERS! lol... she still looks gorgeous and i would not be surprised if the t.v. is a bit to blame for her appearing slightly overweight. i did notice a grimace when she first lifted her leg over her head... OUCH! she will always be special, no matter what. GOLD BABY GOLD!

Even those with women's bodies like Katarina Witt, Dorothy Hamill, Rosalynn Sumners, Elaine Zayak, etc. skated with speed, did high jumps, long fast spins, etc. when on ice. Oksana looks sluggish and heavy (not only weight-wise). She used to skate with such lightness. Even her footwork is slow.

Katia Gordeeva is 36 and has had 2 children - and while she is not still built like a 16 year old, she is in amazing shape. Oksana is a cow compared to non-athletic 30 year olds.

Katia Gordeeva is a smaller person than Oksana. As far as I know Oksana is at least 5'7" (that was back in 96) I don't think Katia ever broke 5'2".

I mentioned her weight, not her medals. And believe me, I've won stuff you'd never win because you seem like a loser and never won anything in your life.

It's hard to see her perform like this, knowing how great she was at 16. She gained so much weight and her body lacks the flexibility to do the tricks she was able to do as a teenager. She should have us remember her the way she was and stop skating like this publically.

She is my all-time favourit skater. I loved her to death growing up and watched all her performances. She is such a "special skater" with a unique style which is unmatched by any other skater in the world!
