@journeytheoutdoors when you made this video what time of year was it? and what was the water temp? it looks like winter or fall but im curious about the temp. im wondering if i could do this in maryland.
@Cmadden52 It was early spring time in April fishing for Crappie. The air temp was about 50 and I suspect water was about high 40's there was no ice. we were getting rain like crazy, but this was the one sunshine and high pressure day.
coool vid(again) not trying to tell you what to do but I use my"jug" as a reel(same thing with ice fishing a homemade tip up)...that way you can unhook them release or keep as you go...also nice boat dude! wish I had that instead of my canoe lol
i notice a good thing about you as a black man because for me, its rare to see black people go hunting and fishing and etc, i like that, not the reno type of black poeple.
Try setting lines off of tree limbs allowing the live bluegill to be a foot and a half to two feet under. I caught a hundreds that way, the biggest being 56 pounds.
i bet your line is a tangled mess after not coiling it and just dropping it coil it into a bucket then set the hooks on the rim of the bucket way neater less headache
Are you using nylon stockings to put the livers in? You have a cool setup, like the boat and that looks like a nice river to fish. I fish in a reservoir, the fish get sucked up with the water from the dam so sometimes you can catch some monster strippers.
I catch just about everything, but I prefer cats. I've been night fishing with my nephews since they were pretty young, all they do now is fish. More than me actually. LOL
This is an interesting video, i fish for catfish all the time, but unfortunately float lines are illegal where i fish, but it seems to be a very effective technique.
yeah, I do in spring time. its real hard though because my area is low on numbers of turkeys. Im searching out private property and knocking on doors! hunters now days can't be afraid to do that!
every time i go trotline fishing i'll always put a jig on there for a bass i mean wow!thats how i caught my biggest bass 7lbs...but yeah where do you go trotine fishing?
have you ever heard of the term "if a fish don't swim they die" my lead was too short, so some will die if its to short. the cure is one of these two. check the trot line sooner or make your leaders (tag line) longer so they can swim.

good vid but if you would have used more weights on the ends you wont have the truble of untangling your line

What did you do just attach it to a bottle and drop it?
bhswolves65 2 years ago
yes it is cool, because now you can trot line fish in 20' 30' 40' even 60' of water!
its the same principal as the deadliest catch. in our state you can run several trot line in a area .
