  • but the question is will it blend?

  • Put some pants on!

  • DLNA is just so slow - some software programmers need to get fired for this..

  • @JesperSP Mine is plenty fast enough. Maybe it's your hardware?

  • @JesperSP u r right!... its sooo slow... that function is not something to be proud...

  • Hey I can't seem to play any videos from my Galaxy to my tv... I could play music and look at pictures, but everytime I try a video it says file not supported on my phone... I even recorded from my phone and tried it like the example from this video and it still didn't work.... help?

  • Galaxy SII is the best, i just placed anotehr order for my wifes present, they have great prices at bit.ly\vOpADA

  • "Rather than having the BBC on as youtube will probably sue my or something" LOL, I love the cynical techs. I am one too at heart <3

  • Hey andy, :D

  • I tried this on a LE46B650 samsung tv using an S2. I thought it would be simple as the TV says "wireless DLNA" The phone didn't find the TV. After a while I called samsung and they tell me the TV must be hard wired to the internet so the DLNA could be wireless!!! I'm pissed off about this. Wireless my arse.

  • @TheMrWevo So... you want to connect to your TV when your TV isn't connected to anything? Come on, little common sense surely?

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet The video very clearly shows the TV playing when it is not connected to anything. Obviously any normal person would know that a TV needs either a wireless or a wired connection to work. However, it is not as obvious that a DNLA-compliant TV would lack wireless capability based on this description. TheMrWevo alerted me in his comment to something important I should watch for.

  • @TheMrWevo The Tv must always connect to the Router or AP, if I where you , i will never buy a wireless tv , it has a less performance of streaming FHD , while by wire it is faster and FHD, next time only look for a DLNA tv or devices, and have your Router Ready!!!.

  • Omg hes naked

  • i bet that i cant stream hd ;) 3gpp is poor quality

  • ha! i have almost the same tv and soon (already ordered) the same mobile :)

  • is he using micro usb-hdmi?

  • how do i check if i TV come with this???

  • Fat woman behind u

  • you can use any dlna media sharing app on any android phone, which is dlna certified, and your tv should also be dlna compliant, the cellphone will work as a streamer and tv will be a client.

  • can you use the 3.5 mm headphone jack to tv out too ?? like the galaxy s 1 ??

  • Is DLNA only useful for viewing videos that are shot using the phone's cam?? I mean, is it possible to view movies as well??

  • but i was not able to activate AllShare on my Samsung 40 inch LED 5000 series TV and thus could not connect the device....what do I need to activate my Tv's AllShare (DLNA) ???

  • Hi,

How scratch resistant would you say the glass/display is?

  • @TexasLonghorn82 It's Gorilla Glass, so it's excellent.

  • why cant my s2 detect my samsung tv?my tv finds my phone on tv screen,i can watch videos, pictures etc. but i cant remote from my s2...

  • Nice vid. I didn't know about playing it from the phone - I usually play it from the target player. Works a treat connecting it to a PS3 too!

  • does it have HDMI?

  • @keveydaking I should soon be reviewing the HDMI cable that is available.

  • @keveydaking

no it does not has any hdmi port but samsung introduce whole new technology ( MHL ) that means u can use an usb to hdmi adaptar it minimises the slots and looks beautiful overall u can use usb port both as usb as well as hdmi

  • @sandeepgahlawat12 so is the cable like a mini usb at one end and a normal USB at the other end, but if you plug the USB into the TV it transfers 1080p?

  • @keveydaking it got mhl, so yes.

  • in the future cell phones will cook food, drive, teach, preform surgeries, and ENSLAVE US FOREVER!!!!!! MMMMUUUHHHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH ok i just jizz'd in my pants

  • @treeman2007 they cannot slave us cuz we can build auto slave detection which the phone will self destruct and the phone cannot hack it or stop it :)

  • hi there, i would like to know, your screen on the phone is interestin, where did you get it? nice vid

  • i have a panasonic DLNA enabled tv, does that mean i'd have to get a wifi adaptor to pair up the phone to the tv?? thank you!

  • No pants ftw!

  • This is too awesome, we won a 3D samsung TV the other day and now I just ordered

the Samsung Galaxy S2 wich should be arriving tomorrow

  • A TV within the TV? SAMSCEPTION

  • God Job

  • @harpersneil u can use DLNA from a DLNA mobile to a ps3 streamin in real time, i download movies all the time and watch them direct from my galaxy s to my ps3 :-)

  • Imagine what we'll do with our phones in ten years :s

    Man....

  • are you not wearing any shorts??? look at the reflection... 1:19

  • @Eddo85

hahahah you´re right man, he isnt wearing no pants. I guess the Galaxy is THAT beautiful, he was so enthousiastic.

  • @Eddo85 LMFAOO

  • @Eddo85 GROSS!! xD

  • @Eddo85 sexposed. lol

  • @Eddo85

ha ha ha Obviously not... Have seen one more before. Dunno why some video uploaders were naked while shooting the video and somehow people notice them naked in reflections. HA HA HA

  • Does it have NFC??? Thanks!

  • @rahmanroni

    yes

  • Andy, this is great upload! I'm amazed how few video's there are about DLNA as it's brilliant! I do have a nice big Samsung 50" Plasma at home... but it doesn't have DLNA!!

I do however, have a PS3 which of course DOES have DLNA. I use it to stream from my PC. Are you able to make a video showing the Samsung GS2 connecting to the PS3 via DLNA? That would be amazing! Thanks for this upload, great video.

  • I move all my photo's and videos from one phone to the next, so the video list is every video I've taken in the last 2 years, which is quite a lot! The lag is simply while the phone loads in thumbnails for them all.

  • hmm scrolling thru vids looked very laggy, is it because of the app or does that happen often?

  • @guyon2342

I have yet to experience lag on my SGS2 yet, so probably the video.

  • @otester Yeah i meant the video app, he's scrolling thru the video's and it lags badly. I thought it might be the video app.

  • @guyon2342

If you look closely it's the amount of videos, when he starts scrolling the scroll bar moves up then flickers a bit showing its loading.

Doesn't necessarily mean the phone is at fault, probably the video app as you said.

(Btw originally I meant the video - camera recording).

  • @otester Oh yeah, i didn't see the scroll bar ;) That probably explains why it looks laggy. It's just scrolling in a list thats growing :P

  • What's with the .3gp extension. Did you record that video in 1080p?

  • I think I have that TV, mine is 46" led :-) nice:-)

  • Do you have CM7 on your GS2??

If yes, where did you get it from?

  • is that thing in the background the ventilation for your indoor grow? ;)

  • Do you need to have a WIFI USB connected to the TV? or is the TV connected to a LAN via a network?

  • lag much when you were looking for the video :/ ?

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet how many videos where there?

im worried about the way it lagged as i too want to buy this phone.

  • @anshul0316 it probs becuase thats over the internet or something so it had to get all the vids so it probs lagged then

  • stupid question, but does the TV need to be plugged in via ethernet or wirelessly for it to use dlna?

  • Nice, your video's are great! Really getting a good feel of the phone.

  • Samsung gs2 has wifi direct, you can connect usb dongles and external HDD that you would connect to pc's directly to SGs2 (with the correct lead) with no need of a pc.

  • Yes, Power + Home = Screen cap :-)

  • @Hemorrdroidsnet Thanks for your videos. However, i have a question if you dont mind, how do the tegra 2 games work on the samsung galaxy s2? i think many people are wondering about this issue, and that what causes the controversy of exynos vs tegra 2 chips. So if you can show a video about that, ill be very much thankful. Again, thank you

  • I assume he has the videos saved on his micro sd card, if the card is not a class ten it will be very slow to read such large files thus giving you a jerky motion because the device couldn't read it fast enough.

  • 3gp ???????????

  • Hey, love your reviews, but I've just got 2 small questions, hopefully you'll mention them in your upcoming review of the phone. Firstly, I've noticed in some spec sheets and photos that the GS2 has a second, noise-cancelling mic, for stereo sound recording and obviously noise cancellation. Secondly, I've heard a rumour that the GS2 can natively capture screen shots by simultaneously pressing both the home and power buttons. Can you please confirm both of these features?

    Thanks, from Down Under

  • whats up with the scrolling in the video list @ 1:03 ? it looks very jerky? how could that be?

  • @Tradingtrends Too much videos in there :D

  • hi andy...did u put htc sense clock on your galaxy s2? can u please share the link ?

  • Hey, it has got MHL port, Which replaces HDMI port and 7.1 Audio Out.

  • hi Andy, what UI are you using on your gs2 ? is it launcherpro instead of TW4.0?

  • This works on any tv that supports DLNA. I got my gs2 today....wow! Its super fast, light, thin, its just super!

  • @TheCrazyfruitbat Better then Iphone4? also I have a Bravia Sony t.v. is it DLNA?

  • @Ambushcrysis yeah sony bravia should have it depending on what model?. most sony led tv's will have it. htc desire is better then iphone 4, so yeah samsung galaxy s2 loads better.

  • @TheCrazyfruitbat

its outsold in whole freaking sweden :*( i want one!

  • Hey Andy, it does have HDMI out... the USB port at the bottom is actually MHL which combines microusb and hdmi. Pretty cool...

  • @np231 On the HDMI topic, it should not be forgotten that HDMI out has different purpose than DLNA - DLNA is mostly media streaming and sharing, and you can actually have it on as a server for file sharing or even playback/encoding as shown, while HDMI only shares the screen, not files. HDMI will output at higher bitrate (e.g HD) content better, as WI-FI tends to hickup on HD, but at the same time the OS might limit output resolution. HDMI also is the only way to see apps on a TV screen.

  • @rajurahman1985 what is MHL? Also does it support a full output 1080p mirror?

  • can you only do it if you have a samsung tv?

  • @freesylecollector No all Tv´s :D

  • Touchwiz 4.0 or Sense 3.0?

I love the hardware of the Galaxy S II but I love the Sense UI :/

I'm looking to buy the HTC Sensation or the Galaxy S II

  • not a bad TV mate :)

    How old is it?

    LCD - 40" Samsung :P

  • Andy, DLNA is cool, but you've also got the option of HDMI, the SGS2 supports MHL, which means you can get a micro USB to HDMI cable and connect to any TV, monitor, projector etc with HDMI. That's just another option for those with out a DLNA supported TV.
