  • Why isn't your channel available in the United States? I want to see more of your videos...:(

  • Is there anything we can do to save these bears????? :'( *stupid dust in my eye.....*

  • :(

  • Fuck all y'all that say that polar bears are dumb and that we shouldn't help them. if you were stranded on a piece of ice would you want to swim 4 miles to shore?

  • @taggybor24 Well, just another ignorant person that knows nothing about what they are talking about, good luck dealing with floods that will cover a good amount of land once the ice caps melt

  • Wasn't this polar bear threat proved to be a myth started by a bird watcher?

  • The polar bears don't seem too concerned

  • Comment removed

  • i pity these poor creatures....they might be wondering wats wrong with tis place...who ate up ol the ice...is it my fault that i ate an extra seal yesterde...

For no fault at all....why will de suffer....this is terrible.....i guess we still have time.....guys....share this as fast as psbl...ppl need to know....

  • @sailipsi I see you like to use alot of periods.

  • @TheWritersMind and thats ol you noticed eh? its like so fulfilling. hah!!

  • fuckin global warming scammers of BBC, I hope the fuckin ice caps melt faster, so we can start drilling the shit out of the arctic for oil

  • good, their world is melting away, nasty fuckin great creatures who'd eat you alive even if you begged them to stop it.

  • calm down the earth has been doing this shit for millions of years....theres gonna be an ice-age in a few thousand years....this is normal.

  • Is this real?? ....is this how our world is dying ...i can't believe this...Like my motto :No one can change the world but anyone can help world to change. If we keep in this way soon we'll be nothing ;)

  • @TheRedHunterrr that seems to be the direction we're heading I'm afraid.

  • You do know polar bears can swim, so those polar bears are not "doomed".

They aren't dying on that piece of rock, they can literally just swim away.

I'm not saying that the whole species is fine or that the amount of ice melting is good, I am just saying those two polar bears there are not dying and there is nothing to really be sad about by watching this video ...

That's my opinion, please respect it and not argue it with me.

  • @MyLittleCornerOfMe I am going to argue with you, because they can swim, but they have nowhere to go to and nowhere to eat from (I don't think they can eat while swimming), so they ARE going to die. They can't keep swimming forever and they need to sleep too. And if they fall asleep while swimming, they drown, simple (and sad).

  • Seems upscaled, no point in 1080 when the quality isn't down to the pixel.

  • ugh. so sad.

  • The reason that there are starving frickin bear is because libs have saved them ALL! There isn't enough food because of libs saving and banning EVERYTHING including hunting which managed the population you freaks!

  • @usgp1

Nah, it's because we are treating the Earth like a toilet. Not to mention what fishing has done to the population of the Oceans. All our industry, most of it manufactures shit no-one needs, just to line someone's pocket with numbered pieces of paper, we all decided would allow us to control one another. We are mad :-|

  • @PICLex We are mad :/

  • Apologizing to a f@ckin' bear? Libs are whacked!

  • @usgp1 lol you're extremely arrogant and pathetically stupid.

  • Who gives a sh@t. F@ck the stupid filthy anamals. Do you think they give sh@t about you?

  • mother nature is a cruel bitch

  • Feel so bad for those bears

  • Bring them a CocaCola

  • Can somebody feed those damn bears !!!!!! ;(

  • that water would taste so good

  • maybe they didnt had the resources to do that... how do u rescue a huge bear like that? just put him on your boat? :O

  • don't worry, they probably survived. polar bears are known to swim very far.

  • bears seem not to be giving a fuck. cool!

  • poor polar bears!

  • A polar bear killed my father

  • @Regginyaga thats horrible

  • The Arctic is a Russian colony

  • BBC= British Brainwashing Company

  • watching this makes me kinda sad :(

  • damn its so pretty

  • bears sorry and fuck humain polution earth

  • @lecool888 Polar bears can swim over 100 miles.. They love the ocean =)

  • Amazing, it gets more and more compelling every year.

I have a humble side project, an app for iPhone that tracks and visualizes melt over the last 30 years.

    Arctic Watch

Check it out if you like!

    Hope it helps!

  • 1:01 woh!!

  • Magnifico trabajo, y una inmensa tragedia

  • the music kinda reminded me about harry potter

  • Just read that this is the shortest Arctic melt season on record. Ice is now beginning to reform. With the Sun entering a Grand Solar Minimum, I would prepare for a bitterly cold winter in the northen hemisphere. La Nina is reforming in the Pacific again which will cause Global temperatures to plummet. Remember that the atmosphere cannot warm the oceans.

  • This is a normal, natural process...This has nothing to do with global warming.... do you really think they would have titled it "Natures Great Events" if it were??

  • @bosshallucy Climate goes in cycles, sure, but we're not helping. And, in fact, we have the power to equalise the cycles so that such creatures can survive.

  • well the ice is melting cause of us humans, and humans caused global warming.so its like our fault its melting faster

  • Damn, see what we're doing to our nature. It's the only thing we can live from, so why the fuck do we destroy it? Look at the eyes of the polarbears, they're innocent but they have to suffer from our stupidity :'-(

  • @wcgwav Well said. Really well said. Human arrogance knows no bounds, and the innocent will suffer and die. And really, we're only killing ourselves.

  • amazing scenery. i would love to own a camera that good.

  • great fucking nature events? really? those poor animals are need to survive and your making a documentary out of them. rescue the polar bears!

  • @iseewhatyoudontsee its happen since millions of years and you can do everything and its happen

  • The air in Arctic is so transparent!

  • fantastico paisajes muy hermosos

  • Nice time-lapse movie! smooth! Do you know you can make time-lpase movies with any camera with this device: (copy address to browser): tempusALL.bymac.org

Works with ANY camera! cool :P

  • omg!! they were taking videos but not helping the polar bears.. stupid !! :P

  • @arifyakub35

They are taking videos because they want to show us what's happening and what were eventually going to do to the world.

  • All you global warming fuckwits:

"The summer melt of Arctic ice opens up nearly three million square miles of ocean and land."

This video is simply showing the effects of summer, a yearly phenomenon. You do know it gets hot once a year, don't you?

  • @Rotpig prestar atención, imbécil

  • @Rotpig: Oh, now I understand! The mountain and continental glaciers are melting away in the and the polar icecap gets smaller every summer, and it's because it gets warmer in the summer than winter! What a brilliant contribution! All those PhD climatologists are simply stupid - we should listen only to you and Rush Limbaugh, as you two have doubtless spent your lives studying the issue.

  • HERMOSO!

  • i loves teh polar bears .___.

  • @AUSM92 No, but we're certainly powerful enough to alter the chemical basis of our atmosphere. You denial morons are always preaching about the value of common sense. Tell me this: Look at your chimney, or just look at cigarette ash. We're putting a ton of that shit into all levels of the atmosphere, and have been for a while now. Do you REALLY think that's somehow not going to have an effect ?

  • Ugh. That was depressing.

  • they should have fucking rescued those polar bears

  • @kzwj How do you rescue a 800lb polar bear which will probably try to kill you?

  • @lost4468yt i don't know but you can't help but feel sorry for those cute bears

  • @kzwj Why? Polar bears can swim hundreds of miles.

  • @kzwj Polar Bears can swim like a beast. Actually, contrary to popular belief, ursus maritimus (polar bear) is not endangered. Their population is around 20,000-25,000 (mostly hibernate and are hard to account for).. They are not in, nor have they ever been in any great threat or new threat over the past decade. Their population has actually increased, due to bans and regulations on hunting them for their fur. Just thought you should know =)

  • @BomaBoi Are you a wizard?

  • @kzwj No but Harry Potter use to be my best friend =D Until he got accepted to Hogwarts and I didnt >=O

  • @kzwj u are so right

  • polar bears are a bit stupid.

  • But help them u a- holes don't just stand there filming as that could be the last day for those bears

  • ok so the bears are just supposed to drown?

  • just a matter of time before the ice cap melts completely...just a matter of time

  • 0:48 ... 0:52 great for screen saver.

  • September Arctic sea ice is now declining at a rate of 11.5 percent per decade, relative to the 1979 to 2000 average.1 Arctic sea ice reaches its minimum each September.

  • THE EARTH IS TURNING INTO PARADISE!!!

  • @AUSM92 Do you really believe that a graph over one year disproves long-term melting when it isn't even compared to anything? The ice is going back every year, some years more than other. The important thing is the long-term changes, because there's a clear pattern.

You know, they plan on putting up trade routes now that the ice is dissappearing, but I guess you missed that. This is just a bad excuse for not bothering to do anything.

  • "Wikileaks cables show race to carve up Arctic"

my god, no wonder these super powers have done nothing to stop global warming when they have known the retreating ice will be a scramble for the resources.

Hillary Clinton is one of the guilty and she is, like all these vile beings, souless.

  • 0:00 to 0:52 is so beautiful..

  • Humans suck... period.

  • 99.9% of all species on this earth over its lifespan have died.....why should the polerbears be more special than any other

  • @rugbyking32 Because they're cute as hell!

  • @Bmule112 you could say that about many other creatures that have been and gone everyone might as well face it most animals will become extinct anyway not from humans but from natural events

  • Polar bears are one of the meanest creatures on earth, they actually kill, not just for food, but almost like its for sport.

  • @sasquach37 so do humans

  • Seems like Polar Bears are going to go extincts, Coca Cola!!! :(

  • David Attenborough did it again.

  • Comment removed

  • The earth’s environment is cyclical. Eventually we will have another ice age and another global warming. We have been on this planet for a very short mini period. We like to think we control things such as destroying our planet or saving it…

  • sad

  • There is nothing we can do to stop the changing environmental patterns that the Earth will go through. It has been like that since the beginning. Engineering weather patterns and so on will only disturb the natural sequence. And will cause even worse natural disasters than we have seen recently. Unfortunately there are consequences but trying to change the natural occurances will only make matters worse!

  • its just like our generation, the older generation gets all the glory and they fuck things up for us

  • they drank coka cola after

  • fake, lol

  • Great work BBC!

  • HA HA HA FORCES OF ICE!!! YOUR TROOPS ARE NO MATCH FOR THE MIGHT OF SUPERSCIENCE!!

  • No, it's more facts. Alarmist hate the truth

  • 0:51 look like ice age

  • Makes you wonder how the penguins made it throuigh the great ice ages and all the warm periods in between. For the past 10,000 years the earth has been slowly cooling. Penguins and polars bears are in no danger.

  • @RandomConcepts If only FOX provided news. Instead they provide propaganda and call it fair and balanced. Maybe they're the reason many Americans don't even believe in climate change.

  • RIP the bears

  • :(

  • I just love BBC and David Attenborough !!

    Planet Earth

    Life

    and Nature's Great Events

they all are legendary ducemantry shows !!

  • @ZidaneRMDWHL There's a new series called the human planet, not sure when other countries will put it on t.v but if you have BBC i player it will be on there.

  • @elbowlickerr OMG..... Thanks !!

how could I missed a great show like that .....

did not watch it yet, but seems SUPER GREAT !!

    Thank you agin....

Officially ... a dream has changed...

from playing for Real Madrid .. to work for BBC ...

  • @ZidaneRMDWHL They are amazing, I found the jungle episode the best but there all just as good. Hope you enjoy watching them!

  • This really breaks my heart.

  • At 2:08 it looks like a polar bear!

  • colapsados . com

    Tu web de Time Lapses

  • 1:48

    Right side...

    POLAR BEAR!

  • Sorry but switching from one picture to another is NOT a Time Lapse. Correct the title

  • @TheKhalic It IS a Time Lapse. The pictures are taken from one point to another. That's what it means as in Time Lapse.

  • @deathrange08 well take a look in the wikipedia definition from timelapse...

  • @TheKhalic

what.. the beeb have got it wrong have they?

    yeah sure..

  • maybe icebear could change to brownbear ^^

  • i think the fish are gonna die first cause ice is fresh water and fish cant survive in fresh water

  • 1:42 at the right i see either a horse head or a dog of some sort.

at the top right of the ice I see a sideways pug dog face.

  • @xxxAndrew69xxx its called green land

  • @checkeraka47 No sht really?? I had no idea.... thank you for your un-needed stupidity

  • awww.the bears..:/

but ya what were they supposed to do...thats just shitty situation.i always feel bad when watching shows about lions n such eating a zebra or w/e..but thats natures way,we shouldnt mess with it.the thing with the bears though is our fault,n ours alone,so i do feel bad.

  • nature is amazing!

  • Haha yeah

  • holy shit O.o

  • CGI

  • Wow at 1:42 if you

    look closely on

    the right side

    of the ice

    You see a face

  • @Orangez25 i see a dogs head... took me awhile to find the face near the neck kinda cool

  • @beyondrunning not that if u look a liitle more to the left then you see a actuall human face

  • @Orangez25 like where the darker ice meets the lighter ice...and its on the lighter ice part? lol this is funny we are haveing a discussion about this.

  • @Orangez25 I see a dog head.

  • @Orangez25 like a wolf face or something like that?

  • @XXXBRYAN23 look a little more to the left

  • @Orangez25

now i see it lol hard to c

  • @XXXBRYAN23 haah yeah

  • Ooooohhhhh :(

  • Global warming is natural. In history forests populated far north. You can find Petrified wood on the coasts of Svalbard which is most of the year covered in ice and snow.

  • @MrJanezs So then you haven't heard of continental drift?

  • wow....beautiful footages and touching story about global warming

  • Yeah,really!.... The Humans are stupid!... Instead of talking about the Melting Ice and

The Natural Causes you stupid People, you

Are Making Comments about the Freaking Bear?... Who gives a Flying Fcuk about the Polar Bears,ass...h..holes!

  • if anyone thinks that this is there falt you should waitch a documentary called (gasland)

  • Beautiful pictures! :')

  • Did that really Happen ? or are they predictions?

  • polar bears are awsome swimmers:)

  • @DERAJ13 but if they swim to long they get tired and drown

  • Guys, they CANT help the bear! Polar Bear can be aggressive and there are soo many of them, it is not the job of the camera man or the people who made this documentary video to capture them or save them in anyway, they just can't, it is not that easy, where would they keep the bear then? The money? The only way to save these bears and all other creatures dying because of their habitat being destroyed in some way is to have almost every human beings putting in effort to change.

  • @PeaceOfTruth many of them?

are u stupid? they re in the red book and under danger!

stupd american hunters like to kill some stong male, eliminating the stong genetics.

  • @PeaceOfTruth YES!!

  • @PeaceOfTruth i think it should be the camera guys job to help em,mhmm let em get injured in the process, more polar bears for 50 years more :D

  • @TheMichael408

their job is to capture nature how it is, not intervene with what mother nature does.

Excuse my language but i hate it when stupid fuckers think nature has to be politically correct. (no not accusing you personally of that, just saying in general)

  • @RenoGregory oh ok

  • look at those sick polar bittys

  • awwwwwwwwwww i want a polar bear

  • @XpianoxboyX , you can't interfere with nature .

  • WHY DIDN'T THE CAMERA PEOPLE DO ANYTHING.

    GOSH.

IF I WERE ONE OF THEM I WOULD HAVE SAVED TROUBLE ANIMALS.

    LOL.

    common sense -_-

  • Is it normal that i broke down in tears after this?

  • @fern244

It's heartrending from the human perspective that those bears are probably going to die, and we can't and shouldn't help them out.

It's also tragic that we have no place in the ecosystem of our own world anymore, or our evolution is such that other species pay the price at a much higher speed then one would assume would be natural extinctions.

The whole piece and the landscape is also hauntingly beautiful.

More people should break down in tears more often.

  • Thumbs up thought of "Ice Age" at the beginning of this.

  • I say we dump ice onto the north pole.

  • A shocking video :(

  • at least its easier to get to the north pole.

  • Why would some people think that those polar bears are in danger? As you can see in the clip land is like 1 km away and polar bears are famously strong swimmers. They are just hanging out for the night, being cute while doing it.

  • @Katjing Because polar bears food is out in the ocean not back at land. Without sea ice they can't eat.

  • Comment removed

  • History will bitterly remember the ignorance and selfishness of this past generations. And omg i am shocked at the end of this video. What will it take to make the world aware that this is the most critical time in our history?

  • It's very sad seeing the amount of Climate sceptics on this website. Ahwell, ignorance will be payed for with a heavy price. I guarantee it.

  • @SamMitchell90 fuck you sam mitchell u flagrant homosexual

  • @azmi12345 i do believe they swim

  • Come on, let's cry all together because polar bears could possibly disappear! Seriously, I bet you don't even look at hobos when you cross one in the street... I'll never understand that : wanting to help an animal that would eat you if you crossed its way, and then spit on humans that are starving next to you...

  • @hook0123 hey thats the society our past generations have created, you either live with it or try to change it. The choice is up to you. But i believe that, animals like polars bears really can't stand up for themselves, in the other hand the hobo is able to change the way he lives because he is part of a species of intelligent mammals who can speak and protect themselves. While the bear can't do anything, because it cannot speak, it is not intelligent enough. It needs protection.
