a lot have people have said different things about this song, like its about drugs, his depression, etc.
for some reason I thought of the girl as hip-hop... all the metaphors make sense if you really look at it, like hip-hop is sort of his ex, but she always comes back around to him, and all the other guys are abusing her, etc.
think about it... regardless a great song, the writing could be applied to anything really.

I've always thought that "female" in the song is Death, as in Angel In My Life when Joe talks about how he walks hand in hand with Death or like Biggie in his first album "I swear to God it feels like Death is fucking calling me..." This song quotes "Me & My Bitch" and "Suicidal Thoughts" from Biggie's first album.
