  • thankyou! i love the beatles, and these tutorials are fantastic.

  • @JasmineU2 Glad you like them, thanks!

  • Amazing I love that song :)

  • @TheBeatlesfan28 So do I. Probably George's best.

  • my dad is in love with this song ( like many other beatles songs) and since i alread learned "Imagine" and "goodbye yellow brick road from watching your tutorial, i decided to see if u had one for " something" so here i am and my parents really enjoy me playing this song :) thanx soooo much! made it alot easier for me :)

  • You such at teaching

  • @TallBunnie you 'such' at learning

  • Thanks so much for this! and well done!

  • can you teach me I go crazy by paul davis on piano?

  • hi john, i love your videos but i notice you really only give the chords sometimes and then the little demo shows other little tricks.

  • @Mewgirl11 Yes, sometimes I add things on the demo, but forget to show it on the video.. sorry about that, much of it is made up on the spot!

  • you have the sheet music?

  • @Angellorus No sheet music yet.

  • Love it, I will follow your lesson instructions

  • OMG i showed this to my Piano Teacher and she said you are Amazing!!!! hehe ^^ Great job!!!!

  • John lennon didnt die. he fled to australia to teach people how to play paino!

  • Hell yeah John.

  • like your videos patrnon, youre for good.

    greeding from vienna

  • Is this wat john played in the recording??

  • Hey John: Thanks to answer my request. Please, don´t forget whtat i asked you.

    Best regards.

  • John: My name is Carlos Lemus and I´am 61years old. The first part of my life I played guitar, but when my mother gave me on my birthday an electronic pianoI fall in ove wiht it. I´ve been seen a lot of your tutorial and are excelent, beacuse you sohw what chords we have to play, they are very important.. Please send me all chords left hand and the melody right hand.of Sorry Seems to be the Hardes word song (Elton John). My english is not good enough.

Thanks very much and, God Bless you.

  • @clqmusica Hi Carlos, thanks, I'm glad you like the videos! It's good to know you're enjoying the piano. I can't send all of the chords and notes to the song, I'm sorry, but I will probably have a tutorial video on it posted soon.

  • i wish i could just import the songs you know into my head :( it takes me sooo long to learn new songs.. any tips?

  • @JAMxSkalla16 What helped me was to listen to the songs from the album MANY times over the years.. It takes a while, but it does work.

  • Playing beatles on piano is easier then breathing. I can play let it be and sergeant pepper perfectly.

  • @cellceus12 That may be true but songs like "you never give me your money" are a little more difficult.

  • Hey John. I have been watching your videos and learned quite a lot from your tutorials. I was just wondering if you could break up the parts when you "Flow through the chords." or "Bouncing around the C." I'm 13 and get kinda confused on the more complex parts. Just wondering. Great tutorial by the way! :)

  • @SuperHustlerman Yeah, I'll try to expand on that in the future. All that means is that you take the notes of the chord and hold the pedal down, then play each of those notes in a kind of random order.. that gives it the "flowing" sound. Same thing when you "bounce" around the chord, although usually in that case you don't use the pedal.

  • Nevermind John! Sorry I just now read your video message... I don`t think that Youtube would ever close down your account (that would be foolish of them...) at least I certainly hope that they never do. But if they ever did wouldn`t they also close down your alternate account? I don`t understand? But irregaurdless John we are all on your side!

  • @Ezlaguy Thanks! I don't know if they would close it down, but I have seen it happen with other tutorial channels. They wouldn't close down the alternate account unless a music publisher complained about the tutorials. The videos there can't be searched by title (at least the ones claimed by Cass Music), so it's doubtful the publisher would even find it.

  • I was a bit puzzled by the fill at 3:58 until I realized that you have your LH pinkie on G and thumb up on B...uh, my hand doesn't do that yet :-)

Thanks so much for doing so many tutorials; I'm so enjoying all the songs I've learned from your videos.

  • @spark29slowsdown Yeah, the 10-note stretch can be tough, I probably shouldn't have done that, lol. Glad you like the vid, though, thanks!

  • Words can't express the level of greatness you're at. The Beatles (along with everyone else) would be proud. I've never seen so much justice done by the tips of 10 fingers.

  • You can't imagine how grateful i am for this!! And you keep making more tutorials.. Thank you so muuch for this.. Its just perfect.

pd: I'm still wating for Jealous guy (jaaj just kidding)

  • You're strumming guitar licks on the piano again....... nice. just that the best part of 'Something' ( i thought anyway) was Paul's awesome bass line. then we start on the F.

  • Love your work! What kind of piano is that? It's like nothing I've ever seen before

Last thought: "Thunder Road" by Bruce Springsteen. I can't find an accurate piece of sheet music for it. Maybe it could be your next tutorial?

  • @cwchrisweed The piano is a Boston GP-163. It's built a little differently than most other baby grand pianos, with the bass strings laid over the top of the higher ones. It's a great piano, though.

Thunder Road is one I should have posted eventually.. I've had it on the list for about two years...

  • Hey John, Thanks very much for making this tutorial, one i requested as well, so a special thank you on that one, and again a pure pleasure to listen to, i gotta be honest i love your tutorials even better now you do them in stereo.

1 question how long did it take you to learn it?

  • @PhuckmeAgain Thanks, yeah it helps to have better recording equipment and software than I did a couple of years ago. I don't remember how long this took me to learn it, since I've had it in my repertoire for so many years.. but it was probably several days at the time.

  • John you have done it again, great song as all the Beatles tunes are, and another brilliant, note perfect tutorial!!! Thanks so much - this is probably George's best piece of songwriting in my opinion and I love it - now I'm off to learn the solo!!!

    Thanks again John!!

    Sam

  • Hey John great job once again. Gosh I've lost count how many great songs I've learned from you. Many thanks.

In Alan Pollack's Notes On series, he has a different take on the "dont wanna leave her now" chord progression of Am-Ammaj7-A7. He claims the notes that push that sequence are just a descending bass line A Ab G with a two note harmonization over it namely C and E, the remnants of the initial Am. So the chords are Am-Abaug-C6/4inv, if you insist on naming them. Sounds nice that way.Try it

  • @dboz33 typo/clarification on those chord names. The way you normaly play "dont wanna leave..." chords: Am - Aminor major7 - Am7 The alternate suggested by Pollack as "correct": Am - Ab augmented - Cmajor 6/4 The way I do it when I play it Pollack's way: LEFT/RIGHT notes A E / A C E Ab E / Ab C E G E / G C E D9...
  • @dboz33 I hadn't seen Alan's notes on this particular song, but I love his work.. very thorough and his analyses are spot-on. The way he describes it there can work, although I'm not sure I agree with the GE/GCE section.. it loses the Am with a shift to C major, and I sense more of a downward progression on the A until it hits the D9. I also hear an Am7 there instead of a C. But no matter, his interpretation is just fine, and the way you described it is a nice alternative.. I like it!

  • @pianojohn113

err john is it possible for you to do Isolation by John Lennon on the plastic ono band album i hear its really easier but very beautiful.

  • Thanks Pianojohn, you are absolutely the best tutorial guy on youtube for the piano as far as I can tell. Thanks a bunch for the great, easy to understand videos. Always great to check out your videos, you are truly a rich edition to youtube musicians everywhere. Thanks again, your inspired viewer.

  • I love the sound of your piano. I'm sure the person playing it has a lot to do with it. And of course, you're playing some of the greatest songs ever written. But I really enjoy listening to that piano.

  • All your uploads r just great. So easy to understand & a great teacher. Amazing. With that being said I've been searching youtube for some great piano standards such as 'Georgia",'As Time Goes By', 'Smile", My Way','"Someday","Memory",Fly Me To The Moon", well you get the idea. Some of this tutorials are out there but not explained very well. Don't know if you're getting many request for the old standards, but if you are I hope you could find time to post a few for us old folks. Many Thanks.

  • John, thanks again for this great tutorial. I always wanted to play this on my piano. Love the song, love the tutorial!

    Great job!

  • Your demo of it just gave me chills....any sheet music or anything like that to help us out?

  • i like it i want to play it !!!!

  • This is amazing! You are amazing! Thank you so much! :)

  • thanks, john!

  • Thanks John ! Awesome :D

  • Awesome thank-you very much I subscribe to your channel have learnt a lot from you already and really find your style so easy to follow. I do a great version of this of the uke so excited to have a piano one. Kia Ora from Kiwiland (New Zealand!)

  • @MrNudgit45 Cool, I'd love to hear the uke version. :-)

  • i think it would be much easier to learn if you could post some sheet music to it. or at least the chord progression ;)

  • Holy Moly - Another great chord arrangement & so well taught. Many thanks for sharing. I wonder when you get a chance if you could look at this website & let me know if there's anyway you could teach this great song - 'Together" by Hagood Hardy. Would love to know the chord arrangement to that song. Thanking you again for your hard work. Sk8er1979 - Together

  • Fantastic!! I want to learn it!!

  • Awesome

  • Ohhh man!!! you don't know how long I've waited for a good cover/tutorial of this song on paino!!! Thanks so much!

  • Ahhh, I can't wait to start learning this! Thanks, dude. ^_^
