This track was enormously influential on the way I formed my own music on guitar. Just beautiful.
@jodude711: I have always imagined something similar, perhaps a montage of years passing, but less clearly a bad situation than what you described. Certainly a portrait of a family, though.
i feel like the radio football game in the background is supposed to be like the son in the dark hallway listening to the game as his dad sits and drinks beer on the couch and throws his life away and the kid just wants a dad to love him, but thats just my input on it, great song, found this banned on pandora when i was listening to explosions in the sky
@jodude711 yes, because a) a father watching football = a father neglecting his children, b) drinking beer and watching football = throwing your life away, c) feeling morose or sombre = a deficiency in feeling "loved", and d) feeling morose or sombre = not throwing your life away. because of all those things, all of which are completely true
there's a reason mogwai songs dont have lyrics honey, you just havent thought of it yet
Wow, what a great history you created. I almost saw Billy Corgan and Chino Moreno in a dark stage in some night club in some town around there, spreading this melancolic sound all around the night.
@scottpastry finally? well, yeah, i`m glad to see more songs of `cmon die young` being posted too. and its even better to see that they liked the style of the video (the song + the album cover) and are posting by the same way.
I just kinda melt into my chair to this while high

This is like Team Sleep and Smashing Pumpkins had a one night stand and this is their bastard jam-session love child. Beautiful.
