Signas was one of Cain's last creations. They kind of fudged continuity on this one since Cain was around in X3 and resigned (and passed away) after the Repliforce debacle in X4. The manga suggests that Signas was a police detective before he became a hunter, so this could be kind of a shout-out to that.
@ChessPieceKnight WHAT?! Signas was based on Colonel, and was designed to be Colonel´s Succesor... Cain is already death on either MHX or Original Timeline before to mmx4.
@srnefe that is also included in video games MEGAMAN 1-10 MADE ME SLEEP! (my grandma could've had a better series!) MEGAMAN X 1-8 made my soul go to heaven...
@srnefe Megaman X is finfintely better, but in terms of the story he also is infitnely better. because Rock/Megaman could only steal powers, and have human emotions. X could learn, get better, make new abilities, and also had the ability to think, not just feel.
Also, again, for the newer viewers, that is not Signas. Besides what has been explained in earlier posts, there's also the reasoning that, since Signas was built to be a commander-type unit, if he was built before Sigma's rebellion, his name would probably be one of the remaining letters of the Greek alphabet, as other pre-rebellion commanders were, and he would have been Sigma's equal, not subordinate.
As for the "Wily/Zero" virus from the original X series: Inafune actually stated that he had never intended for there to be a virus, so it doesn't exist in the MHX version of the timeline, and Sigma's initial rebellion is fueled by his ideology, not a viral corruption. Also, with the retcon, I think it was explained that Zero's original behavior was cause by him being built without a conscience circuit, but Cain later gave him a copy of X's "Suffering/Melancholy Circuit" to act as his conscience
Ack; after reading through all the comments since my last post, it seems there's a lot of questions and errors floating around. First off, for the matter of Zero's sword in the other later X games: as far as I know, it was added to his design as a gift from Agile when he helped rebuild Zero (keeping in mind that the rebuilt Zero was supposed to be maverick).
@Zephyraven Amen. I think this might have been a proposed pilot though. Hey, did you notice Vile doesn't have his shoulder cannon? What's up with that?
@vipermatthias He was, but several years prior to this. After the battle against Stigma, Zero was ran through diagnostics by Dr. Cain and supposedly cured (the virus had instead jumped to Sigma); thus Zero became a Maverick Hunter (no specific time, but its believed by many fans that he joined roughly the same time as X)
This remake of X1 isn't very consistent with the sequels, namely X3, in regards to Dr. Cain, who is shown in X3 standing with a cane, seemingly a lot more healthy than here.
@MattHunX It was supposed to be a reboot of the X series loosely based on the first 6 games, but it seems Maverick Hunter X didn't sell as well as Capcom was hoping for to continue the project...
Well, the game itself received received negative reviews saying it was mediocre and kind of appears from game-play footage that it is. The voice-acting in-game is really bad.
But, this OVA "The Day of Sigma" is kind of cool. Seeing the characters riding around on the bikes and interacting more. I'd like one made with the characters from X5 up to X8. Alia, Axl, Layer, Signas. Or even the Guardians. Remember how the Mega Man Zero series had those promotional anime scenes. Damn!
@MattHunX Indeed the OVA is awesome, but I don't think Capcom is going to make new OVAs without new games in the "Maverick Hunter" series (as it seems no new Megaman X remakes will be made...)
HOWEVER
Have you seen the trailer for Rockman Online? It seems that the game will explain what happened to the classic cast that they don't appear in the X series, as we see Megaman and Protoman fighting seriously and Dr. Light's city being destroyed.
It's also interesting how Dr. Wily won their "competition" with Light. ZERO is his masterpiece. And he is superior to X. X needs those armor upgrades where Zero is just a slash and stab guy, and even bare handed he took down Sigma easily enough. And Sigma was no slouch. In this OVA though, they made him appear less cool tough, bit of a rookie. Sigma probably recruited him in his unit after their skirmish (X4 -Flashback). Zero got the maverick knocked out of him.
@MattHunX In my opinion, by breaking Zero's crystal when Sigma fought maverick Zero, he also weakened his original abilities forever, which is why he appears not-as-cool in this OVA and one of the reasons why his arm cannon sucks from X4 onwards (the other reason being the fact that he was destroyed in X1 and rebuilt in X2 but not very perfectly)
BUT, as the Z-Saber was made by Sigma when building his copy on X2, it isn't an original ability, so it wasn't weakened (and kicks major ass!)
But, how can we know that the Z-Saber was built by Sigma? Sure he has a saber in X1 which might be an indication, but it is so tailored to Zero, giving him new attacks from mavericks he defeats, that I don't know if Sigma could have had the technical expertise to make such a weapon for (Wily's) the first true maverick that was Zero. I think the Z.-Saber was always around, but Zero didn't use it, didn't know how to, perhaps.*shrug* I just can't imagine Sigma making his kick-ass saber.
Okay, this is wrong. The cities shouldn't even be that huge, it feels like the Mega Man cast is in the future 100+ years in 21XX. That's not cool. And it really doesn't look awesome how those toy robot masters are standing in the rubble staring little mega man down. And Signas is around, too, what the Hell?
@MattHunX Agreed in full. Just saw it after reading your post and it looks like they threw together a collection of characters from the entire series to "revamp" Megaman.
@MattHunX Well, Sigma had a pretty similar saber in X1 (and in this video, for the matter), perhaps it survived in some way and passed down to Zero, or Sigma had its blueprints and created another one
About Rockman Online: I think it will be the bridge between the classic and X series, and they put all those characters in the trailer exactly to shock and surprise people, who will want an explanation for that
Well, they had better come up with a good one cause Iris didn't show up until X4 and Alia and Signas until X5. Of course that doesn't mean they weren't around, but having them around already in the Mega Man time-line feels wrong.
@MattHunX Speculation among hardcore MM fans is that Dr. Cain replicated Megaman's ability to copy enemy abilities and created the saber for Zero to make up for his lack of an original cannon (given to X in the first game).
@EddyScbr Story-wise, Zero's cannon was supposed to be weakened ever since being recreated in X2 (X received it in X1); however because they started making Zero a consistent character from X4 and on they had to scale back his distance power. Nothing in the storyline shows evidence of Zero's powers being weakened when Sigma took him out. And there is nothing to suggest that Zero's saber is Sigma's. Energy weapons are nothing new in the Megaman story, and I doubt Sigma is the only one who has a
@EddyScbr saber. Again, nothing hints to Zero taking Sigma's saber (if you play X2 and rebuild Zero, he comes into Sigma's lair with it, he never found or took it)
@Mavrick295 Actually there is evidence that Zero uses Sigma's saber. In X1, Sigma's saber does exactly half of a full life bar (without body armor). In X3, Zero's saber does an eerily similar amount of damage to bosses.
@MattHunX The Maverick Hunter X storyline is relatively close to the initial events that Capcom had intended to lead up to Megaman X1. The consistency is still there; however you need the back story to link the games together. Even before MHX was released, the premise of the X series was that Dr. Cain found Megaman and used him to create revolutionary reploids like Sigma. Although the transition from the beginning of X1 and X2 was never defined in great detail, it was widely affirmed that
I'm aware of that. I know the back-story, X was the template for even Sigma, and I know it's a small thing, but when you see Dr. Cain with a cane, oh pun, in X3, and then this remake shows him on BIG machines before X1, it just kind of bugs me.
By the way I love it how it's all Zero's fault though. Remember the flashbacks in X4? Sigma got the "Sigma Virus" or actually Zero Virus from him and turned Maverick under the events of MM MH X. At least, implications are as such. ZERO OWNS
@MattHunX Dr. Cain had some form of robotic enhancement (until MHX the reasons why were just speculation). True, there is no solid storyline; however its loosely woven together so it can be tweaked here and there without completely alienating once segment from the entire series.
@Comangeit We already had this conversation. There is no evidence to support that it is, and the timing in the series is a little off for it to be Signas. Signas is not mentioned until X5, which is a good distance away time-wise from X1. Throw in the possibility of Hunters needing to earn ranking in the MHs and it makes it really unlikely. Yes there is a resemblance, but its probably not him (if you want to go by just the clip above, you'll note that a lot of the reploids have similar designs).
@TheAzureKnighthood Sorry for the post, but my inner nerd wants to correct that statement. I think what you mean is he doesn't have life support later on, not "back then". Now, it doesn't say specifically what happened, however a lot of fans believe that Dr. Cain was transferred into a full reploid body after the first incident with Sigma (which explains his presence in X2)
What I meant was that Dr. Cain did not have life support when he appeared in X2 and X3. The life support was added in this game, as the space between X's discovery by Cain and the events of X1as MHX portrays them is widened from some months to some years.
@TheAzureKnighthood Not quite sure what you meant (mainly because I never played the remake), but the time-span from X's discovery to the events in DoS was always several years. In fact, the story shows that Cain used X's design to specifically make Sigma (granted, many reploids before Sigma were based off of X, Sigma was the most sophisticated reploid, therefore had to have been "recently" created (no indication of time in the series other than "year 25XX" and so on)).
@TheAzureKnighthood I wasn't picking out a date from any megaman series. It was just random to emphasize that the dates all end with X or XX; we can't know for sure how many days/months/years in between games (minus X6's intro which tells the time span)
To add on to that, most likely, if Inafune manages to do remakes of X2-X4, Cain will either be erased since he supposedly dies in Sigma's missile attack, or he will survive and still be on life support, as seen in MHX1.
@TheAzureKnighthood Well, its not stated what happened to Cain; however from the games we can assume that in some form (whether human or reploid) he survived or was transferred into a new body. Anyway, thank you for clarifying your statement; I was a little confused at first.
@JediLink123 Not to be rude, but try playing the games; it helps you keep up with the story. (If you are interested in the Zero-Sigma connection, you can save time and just start with the ending battle in X4 using Zero).
props to mavrick295, i have played every game in the megaman (and x) libraries, and have never even heard of anyone other than myself who knows this much of the story line. these games inspired me to pursue a phd in robotic science. maybe im just a bit weird but i appreciate a fellow fan. and props to tallgeeseguy i almost soiled jeans when i saw day of sigma the first time. thanx for posting an awesome vid. hopefully they wont sign the guy who made the dragonball live movie for the mmx film
The Wily Virus was what set Zero off, you can see it in X$ while playing with Zero throughout the game, such as on his forehead when fighting Sigma. The games do not directly address it, mostly because its supposed to be from X's view (even the parts about Zero are incomplete because neither of them know their origins). In the past, hardcore fans hassled capcom for specific explanations for Sigma's actions, however they were largely unanswered. The term "Wily Virus" was actually created by a
forum junkie who had viewed the X4 video of Zero fighting Sigma. He (or she, it was a forum name, so you can't really tell) used the term in reference as to who the virus was inside at the time. Capcom got wind of this and used it as a fill-in-the-blank answer for the questions. Writers then formed the connection that the Wily Virus was the origin, then it transferred to Sigma when Zero's crystal was broken. Thereafter, the Zero virus was created by a mix of the Sigma and Wily virus inside Zero
After intense exposure to the Sigma Virus (this is X5 now), the Zero Virus exploded in growth and lasted until X6 (unfortunately, my story knowledge has a gap from X6 to the X-Zero series due to lack of funds :( ). Now, since the story fit so well, a lot of people think it was part of the original story, however this is what most forum junkies (the old junkies who knew everything, not the new ones that post even if they don't know the answer to a question) agree to have happened (either way the
term is an actual plot line in the Megaman X series). Well, now that I'm done rambling (and have filled up half of the comments, lol), I'm open to any other questions about the Megaman story you may have (again, I do NOT have story info passed X6, and am still confirming a few things in X6)
slight correction, the Sigma Virus was an evolution of the virus originally contained within Zero, when Zero's helmet crystal was broken, the virus transferred to Sigma and evolved into the Sigma Virus that was the staple for most of the X Series form the SNES all the way to PS1, i still wish the game Maverick Hunter X hadnt totally ignored the original Super Nintendo X1 storyline, else we probably coulda had an X2 and X3 on PSP, basically in this PSP Remake of X1, they threw out the Virus stuff
That's mostly what I said, but slightly off in detail (reached PS1 series) . The sigma virus didn't evolve until roughly about X2/X3. The virus was still the same as the one that was inside Zero, it was Sigma's CPU that allowed him to stay in control of his consciousness (not arguing, but being a big Megaman nerd I feel need to fully explain the story to the best of my ability). When X3 reached its conclusion, the Sigma virus had emerged.
@Lavos2007 As for the PSP version, its a remake. Most remakes tend to discard certain plot parts while adding extras such as graphics and so on. Never played the PSP version, so I don't know the exact differences. However, if the game did go off the allotted storyline, then I can't say I'd want to play that. (Btw, Lavos is from Chrono Trigger, right?)
@Lavos2007 That is exactly what I said; however the Sigma virus was not instantly created when it went into Sigma. His CPU fought against the virus, which allowed him to keep some level of sanity where as most other reploids (such as Zero) would succumb to it. As for the PSP version, we all know remakes are rarely on the same level as the original (can you imagine someone trying to remake blazing saddles, or the godfather?) Even with better graphics, it doesnt match up with the original.
@Lavos2007 I was just wondering btw, does the PSP version actually say what caused Sigma's turn? Unless it gives another explanation, don't count out the virus from the PSP version. Remember, in X and X2 there isn't any mention of the Sigma virus either. It could just be that it isn't revealed until X3 (which means its still possible for a PSP remake of most of the series if no other explanation is given).
@Mavrick295 in the PSP version, Sigma and the other X1 Mavericks basically are in a Rebellion, Sigma is leading it,
and also, there is mention in X1 of the Sigma Virus, your forgetting that little scene after the Credits where Sigma's head appears on a green screen and he says he is actually a Virus, and also, in X2, you fight the Sigma Virus, in the shape of a 3D Sigma Head, thats Sigma in his Virus Form from the SNES X Games
@Mavrick295 Thank you for the insight details on the MM saga. The Maverick Hunter movie show X and Zero as more advance robot (there not Reploids because they have unique designs). In the same hostage situation. Both of them are hesitant to pull the trigger (Zero was unhappy with his score).
Lol, you can thank the geek side of my. One tiny detail you're wrong about though: Zero doesn't hesitate. Although his relationship to X makes him question or rethink a situation, Zero has rarely hesitated. In fact, Zero's determination and headstrong fighting skills led him to blowing past S-class in the story and the Maverick Hunters actually give him his own rank. Megaman X has always remained at B-class due to his preference to negotiate than destroy.
Also, the part you are referring to, Zero did fire, unlike X. As free-thinking machines, even reploids need time to aim, think, and look for an opening. I'm not saying you are wrong, however the Megaman storyline more supports Zero's will to be the best rather than being hesitant. Although if anyone finds anything contradictory I would love to catch up on anything I have overlooked :)
It was the work of the Wily Virus (see Megaman X5 for the anime clip of how Sigma became infected). Having the most powerful CPU built, Sigma became twisted rather than insane when infected. The virus produced an uncanny thought process, making him able to talk and convince even the best reploids, as well as create in depth schemes.
Its actually more that they never felt the need to show them. something which continued until Zero 4. (Ciel was the equivalent of Dr. light or Cain. the human that assists the main character) now, after X5, then you can bet theres alot more robots than humans. although both sides suffered pretty much the same casualties.
I agree with all except the last statement. The same amount, hardly. More reploids and mechanaloids than humans. Now as a ratio, you bet. By the time X5 roles around, both humands and reploids are severely lowered in number .Needless to say it was a losing battle for X and Zero, yet there efforts against Sigma were not ineffective. Evidence to this? X5's massive virus outbreak that began affecting even humans to an extent, and lets not forget the downward spiral of X6. Although, you're right.
Zero was made by Wily while Protoman was made by Light but was used by Wily for a while then he changed sides. X was never established as a later version of Megaman so it can be assumed from his different stature he is a completely different robot.
Not true. In fact, it was shortly after the deaths of Rush and Roll that Megaman asked to be disassembled. From this, Dr. Light used Megaman's body and analysis to construct X. In a sense, he is an different robot, but he still has his old memories in the same storage banks as his memories of Dr. Light. The problem? He cannot access them. As the games have proven, X still can't piece the data together, relying heavily on the capsules left by his creator (yes, those are part of the story).

MattHunX 1 year ago
@MattHunX It was supposed to be a reboot of the X series loosely based on the first 6 games, but it seems Maverick Hunter X didn't sell as well as Capcom was hoping for to continue the project...
EddyScbr 1 year ago
@EddyScbr
Damn!
MattHunX 1 year ago
@MattHunX Indeed the OVA is awesome, but I don't think Capcom is going to make new OVAs without new games in the "Maverick Hunter" series (as it seems no new Megaman X remakes will be made...)
HOWEVER
Have you seen the trailer for Rockman Online? It seems that the game will explain what happened to the classic cast that they don't appear in the X series, as we see Megaman and Protoman fighting seriously and Dr. Light's city being destroyed.
That trailer had kick-ass animation too!
EddyScbr 1 year ago
@EddyScbr
Will check it out.
MattHunX 1 year ago
@MattHunX In my opinion, by breaking Zero's crystal when Sigma fought maverick Zero, he also weakened his original abilities forever, which is why he appears not-as-cool in this OVA and one of the reasons why his arm cannon sucks from X4 onwards (the other reason being the fact that he was destroyed in X1 and rebuilt in X2 but not very perfectly)
BUT, as the Z-Saber was made by Sigma when building his copy on X2, it isn't an original ability, so it wasn't weakened (and kicks major ass!)
EddyScbr 1 year ago
@EddyScbr
MattHunX 1 year ago
Just watched the trailer for the Rockman Online thing:
What the Hell is Alia and Iris doing in the same scene, in the Mega Man/Dr. Light time-line. That's wrong!
MattHunX 1 year ago
Okay, this is wrong. The cities shouldn't even be that huge, it feels like the Mega Man cast is in the future 100+ years in 21XX. That's not cool. And it really doesn't look awesome how those toy robot masters are standing in the rubble staring little mega man down. And Signas is around, too, what the Hell?
MattHunX 1 year ago
@MattHunX Agreed in full. Just saw it after reading your post and it looks like they threw together a collection of characters from the entire series to "revamp" Megaman.
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@MattHunX Well, Sigma had a pretty similar saber in X1 (and in this video, for the matter), perhaps it survived in some way and passed down to Zero, or Sigma had its blueprints and created another one
About Rockman Online: I think it will be the bridge between the classic and X series, and they put all those characters in the trailer exactly to shock and surprise people, who will want an explanation for that
EddyScbr 1 year ago
@EddyScbr
Well, they had better come up with a good one cause Iris didn't show up until X4 and Alia and Signas until X5. Of course that doesn't mean they weren't around, but having them around already in the Mega Man time-line feels wrong.
MattHunX 1 year ago
@MattHunX Speculation among hardcore MM fans is that Dr. Cain replicated Megaman's ability to copy enemy abilities and created the saber for Zero to make up for his lack of an original cannon (given to X in the first game).
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@EddyScbr Story-wise, Zero's cannon was supposed to be weakened ever since being recreated in X2 (X received it in X1); however because they started making Zero a consistent character from X4 and on they had to scale back his distance power. Nothing in the storyline shows evidence of Zero's powers being weakened when Sigma took him out. And there is nothing to suggest that Zero's saber is Sigma's. Energy weapons are nothing new in the Megaman story, and I doubt Sigma is the only one who has a
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@EddyScbr saber. Again, nothing hints to Zero taking Sigma's saber (if you play X2 and rebuild Zero, he comes into Sigma's lair with it, he never found or took it)
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Mavrick295 Actually there is evidence that Zero uses Sigma's saber. In X1, Sigma's saber does exactly half of a full life bar (without body armor). In X3, Zero's saber does an eerily similar amount of damage to bosses.
VoidedNote 1 year ago
@MattHunX The Maverick Hunter X storyline is relatively close to the initial events that Capcom had intended to lead up to Megaman X1. The consistency is still there; however you need the back story to link the games together. Even before MHX was released, the premise of the X series was that Dr. Cain found Megaman and used him to create revolutionary reploids like Sigma. Although the transition from the beginning of X1 and X2 was never defined in great detail, it was widely affirmed that
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Mavrick295
ZERO OWNS
MattHunX 1 year ago
@MattHunX Dr. Cain had some form of robotic enhancement (until MHX the reasons why were just speculation). True, there is no solid storyline; however its loosely woven together so it can be tweaked here and there without completely alienating once segment from the entire series.

Comangeit 1 year ago
@Comangeit We already had this conversation. There is no evidence to support that it is, and the timing in the series is a little off for it to be Signas. Signas is not mentioned until X5, which is a good distance away time-wise from X1. Throw in the possibility of Hunters needing to earn ranking in the MHs and it makes it really unlikely. Yes there is a resemblance, but its probably not him (if you want to go by just the clip above, you'll note that a lot of the reploids have similar designs).

DR.CAIN IS OLD AS FUCK!!!!
Faltzerbeast90 1 year ago
@Faltzerbeast90
He was like that in X2 and X3, but he didn't have the life support thing back then.
TheAzureKnighthood 1 year ago
@TheAzureKnighthood Sorry for the post, but my inner nerd wants to correct that statement. I think what you mean is he doesn't have life support later on, not "back then". Now, it doesn't say specifically what happened, however a lot of fans believe that Dr. Cain was transferred into a full reploid body after the first incident with Sigma (which explains his presence in X2)
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Mavrick295
What I meant was that Dr. Cain did not have life support when he appeared in X2 and X3. The life support was added in this game, as the space between X's discovery by Cain and the events of X1as MHX portrays them is widened from some months to some years.
TheAzureKnighthood 1 year ago
@TheAzureKnighthood Not quite sure what you meant (mainly because I never played the remake), but the time-span from X's discovery to the events in DoS was always several years. In fact, the story shows that Cain used X's design to specifically make Sigma (granted, many reploids before Sigma were based off of X, Sigma was the most sophisticated reploid, therefore had to have been "recently" created (no indication of time in the series other than "year 25XX" and so on)).
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Mavrick295
I thought the X Series took place in 21XX. Where'd you get 25XX?
TheAzureKnighthood 1 year ago
@TheAzureKnighthood I wasn't picking out a date from any megaman series. It was just random to emphasize that the dates all end with X or XX; we can't know for sure how many days/months/years in between games (minus X6's intro which tells the time span)
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Mavrick295
To add on to that, most likely, if Inafune manages to do remakes of X2-X4, Cain will either be erased since he supposedly dies in Sigma's missile attack, or he will survive and still be on life support, as seen in MHX1.
TheAzureKnighthood 1 year ago
@TheAzureKnighthood Well, its not stated what happened to Cain; however from the games we can assume that in some form (whether human or reploid) he survived or was transferred into a new body. Anyway, thank you for clarifying your statement; I was a little confused at first.

Mavrick295 1 year ago
The Wily Virus was what set Zero off, you can see it in X$ while playing with Zero throughout the game, such as on his forehead when fighting Sigma. The games do not directly address it, mostly because its supposed to be from X's view (even the parts about Zero are incomplete because neither of them know their origins). In the past, hardcore fans hassled capcom for specific explanations for Sigma's actions, however they were largely unanswered. The term "Wily Virus" was actually created by a
Mavrick295 2 years ago
forum junkie who had viewed the X4 video of Zero fighting Sigma.
Mavrick295 2 years ago
After intense exposure to the Sigma Virus (this is X5 now), the Zero Virus exploded in growth and lasted until X6 (unfortunately, my story knowledge has a gap from X6 to the X-Zero series due to lack of funds :( ). Now, since the story fit so well, a lot of people think it was part of the original story, however this is what most forum junkies (the old junkies who knew everything, not the new ones that post even if they don't know the answer to a question) agree to have happened (either way the
Mavrick295 2 years ago
term is an actual plot line in the Megaman X series). Well, now that I'm done rambling (and have filled up half of the comments, lol), I'm open to any other questions about the Megaman story you may have (again, I do NOT have story info passed X6, and am still confirming a few things in X6)
Mavrick295 2 years ago
slight correction, the Sigma Virus was an evolution of the virus originally contained within Zero, when Zero's helmet crystal was broken, the virus transferred to Sigma and evolved into the Sigma Virus that was the staple for most of the X Series form the SNES all the way to PS1, i still wish the game Maverick Hunter X hadnt totally ignored the original Super Nintendo X1 storyline, else we probably coulda had an X2 and X3 on PSP, basically in this PSP Remake of X1, they threw out the Virus stuff
Lavos2007 2 years ago
NERD!
wingnnn7 2 years ago
@Lavos2007
Mavrick295 2 years ago
@Lavos2007 As for the PSP version, its a remake. Most remakes tend to discard certain plot parts while adding extras such as graphics and so on. Never played the PSP version, so I don't know the exact differences. However, if the game did go off the allotted storyline, then I can't say I'd want to play that. (Btw, Lavos is from Chrono Trigger, right?)
Mavrick295 2 years ago
@Lavos2007 That is exactly what I said; however the Sigma virus was not instantly created when it went into Sigma. His CPU fought against the virus, which allowed him to keep some level of sanity where as most other reploids (such as Zero) would succumb to it. As for the PSP version, we all know remakes are rarely on the same level as the original (can you imagine someone trying to remake blazing saddles, or the godfather?) Even with better graphics, it doesnt match up with the original.
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Lavos2007 I was just wondering btw, does the PSP version actually say what caused Sigma's turn? Unless it gives another explanation, don't count out the virus from the PSP version. Remember, in X and X2 there isn't any mention of the Sigma virus either. It could just be that it isn't revealed until X3 (which means its still possible for a PSP remake of most of the series if no other explanation is given).
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Mavrick295 in the PSP version, Sigma and the other X1 Mavericks basically are in a Rebellion, Sigma is leading it,
and also, there is mention in X1 of the Sigma Virus, your forgetting that little scene after the Credits where Sigma's head appears on a green screen and he says he is actually a Virus, and also, in X2, you fight the Sigma Virus, in the shape of a 3D Sigma Head, thats Sigma in his Virus Form from the SNES X Games
Lavos2007 1 year ago
@Lavos2007 Oh yeah, my mistake XD (God, I need to replay the series. I haven't loaded up X2 in forever)
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Lavos2007 Although you are wrong; it never mentions any virus at the end of X
Mavrick295 1 year ago
@Mavrick295 Thank you for the insight details on the MM saga. The Maverick Hunter movie show X and Zero as more advance robot (there not Reploids because they have unique designs). In the same hostage situation. Both of them are hesitant to pull the trigger (Zero was unhappy with his score).
silveray7 2 years ago
Lol, you can thank the geek side of my. One tiny detail you're wrong about though: Zero doesn't hesitate. Although his relationship to X makes him question or rethink a situation, Zero has rarely hesitated. In fact, Zero's determination and headstrong fighting skills led him to blowing past S-class in the story and the Maverick Hunters actually give him his own rank. Megaman X has always remained at B-class due to his preference to negotiate than destroy.
Mavrick295 2 years ago
@Mavrick295 but thats what makes X so much stronger then zero...its explained in the story.
Faltzerbeast90 1 year ago
Also, the part you are referring to, Zero did fire, unlike X. As free-thinking machines, even reploids need time to aim, think, and look for an opening. I'm not saying you are wrong, however the Megaman storyline more supports Zero's will to be the best rather than being hesitant. Although if anyone finds anything contradictory I would love to catch up on anything I have overlooked :)
Mavrick295 2 years ago
i've been looking for this anime movie for years!!!
so...if sigma was their commander...
why is he a bad person in the NES games?
is it his own will? or is he infected with a virus?
PlinnRodolf 2 years ago
It was the work of the Wily Virus (see Megaman X5 for the anime clip of how Sigma became infected). Having the most powerful CPU built, Sigma became twisted rather than insane when infected. The virus produced an uncanny thought process, making him able to talk and convince even the best reploids, as well as create in depth schemes.
Mavrick295 2 years ago
My apologies, I meant X4. You need to play as Zero, and its before his fight with Sigma
Mavrick295 2 years ago
are all humans robots
marz1129 2 years ago
not true, there are simply more reploids than humans (ALOT more, 6:1 ratio in the storyline or something like that)
Mavrick295 2 years ago
Its actually more that they never felt the need to show them. something which continued until Zero 4. (Ciel was the equivalent of Dr. light or Cain. the human that assists the main character) now, after X5, then you can bet theres alot more robots than humans. although both sides suffered pretty much the same casualties.
FlameG102 2 years ago
I agree with all except the last statement. The same amount, hardly. More reploids and mechanaloids than humans. Now as a ratio, you bet. By the time X5 roles around, both humands and reploids are severely lowered in number .Needless to say it was a losing battle for X and Zero, yet there efforts against Sigma were not ineffective. Evidence to this? X5's massive virus outbreak that began affecting even humans to an extent, and lets not forget the downward spiral of X6. Although, you're right.
Mavrick295 2 years ago
Humans definitely lost numbers until before the X-Zero sage (mainly during Zero's disappearance).

Definitely not. The entire Megaman story has always had Megaman (later X) to be younger than Protoman (later Zero).
Mavrick295 2 years ago
Zero was made by Wily while Protoman was made by Light but was used by Wily for a while then he changed sides. X was never established as a later version of Megaman so it can be assumed from his different stature he is a completely different robot.
EpsilonKnight2 2 years ago
