I've never been to a Hillsong service or concert, but you ought to be careful about jumping on the bandwagon of accusations like this parody presents. You may not like Hillsong but how do you know if this is true, and I mean honestly before God know. And to spread stuff like this without going to Hillsong personally to speak with them about it really amounts to slander.
Okay people, you all have the right to your opinions and do I, so I will give mine. I've had the opportunity to meet some great christian artists/worship leaders and some haughty ones. As a worship leader, believe me, I know them when I see them. I met some of Hillsong United and talked to them for a bit, some of the most humble, God fearing musicians I've ever met. And I know others who know them personally, and they have always said the same. Just saying, be careful how you perceive people.
im a christian and i love the chasers war on everything and this song is awesome my parents love hillsong probly because they make 'good' music (good meaning most christians who listen to it because they dont know what music is. its pretty much a christian lady gaga or whoever is top of the charts now) ive been forced to go to a few of the anual week long conferences they do and this is actualy very close. so sad that the chasers have stopped what a waste of tax payers money ;)

I must say Hillsong is a great example of how large numbers don't make sense to most people. You've got 30,000+ people every week. Even if we just go by what your average church member gives in every other church around the country, something like half of the 10% they're meant to give of their income... Actually let's go stingy: $10 each. 10 X 30000 = $300 000+ EVERY week. Hillsong don't need to beg; large numbers do the work.

We all know that a church can't do its works,outreaches,feeding without the sole money of its members. Think of it, how can the church minister/evangelize without resources? Where can they get them? Only from the tithes and offerings of people. God don't need any money. When it comes to Hillsong, do some research. They go to diff. country to evangelize.

Like any business, Hillsong provides certain services, but reaps a substantive profit for it's leaders. Unlike churches who reinvest that money,, Hillsong's leaders spend their untaxed, undocumented profits on their millionaire lifestyles, while their Western Sydney members struggle to pay huge tithes and de facto compulsory fees.
I imagine Hillsong's intention are actually OK, but I generally think this style of church gathering/community is unhelpful to the gospel. OK, have a big event once in a while to invite friends to, but I think big Church communities are unsustainable and leads to people think they need to hear from the anointed speaker/worship leader/praying person, etc. to feel close to God. We no longer need an intermediary, because we have Christ.
God's work is bigger than the Church gathering we attend.

There should be constructive criticism in the church, but not carping or nitpicking. However if the church administration is totalitarian (monarchical episcopate) so, in such a church the pastor is always right whatever he says. And it is no use to talk to him.

Saints are people whose sins are forgiven. Those people try not to sin any more. Still they have got much corrupt nature. Prosperity Doctrine had been big throughout the 80s - people who were massively in debt had been told to give, give, give and became destitiute. Hillsong along with others like Joyce Meyer looked like more of the same.

I've been to countless hillsong events, they never asked for cash. In fact all the members of their band are volunteers, who take time off of there jobs. I must say Hillsong is a great example of how large numbers don't make sense to most people. You've got 30,000+ people every week. Even if we just go by what your average church member gives in every other church around the country, something like half of the 10% they're meant to give of their income... Actually let's go stingy: $10 each. 10 X 30000 = $300 000+ EVERY week. Hillsong don't need to beg; large numbers do the work.

We all know that a church can't do its works,outreaches,feeding without the sole money of its members. Think of it, how can the church minister/evangelize without resources? Where can they get them? I imagine Hillsong's intention are actually OK, but I generally think this style of church gathering/community is unhelpful to the gospel. OK, have a big event once in a while to invite friends to, but I think big Church communities are unsustainable and leads to people think they need to hear from the anointed speaker/worship leader/praying person, etc. to feel close to God. We no longer need an intermediary, because we have Christ.
God's work is bigger than the Church gathering we attend.

@mosdeadly98 Holy Scriptures teach us that the Christians should sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in their hearts to the Lord. Christian songs are not untended to level criticism against ministers.
There should be constructive criticism in the church, but not carping or nitpicking. However if the church administration is totalitarian (monarchical episcopate) so, in such a church the pastor is always right whatever he says. And it is no use to talk to him.

Saints are people whose sins are forgiven. Those people try not to sin any more. Still they have got much corrupt nature. Prosperity Doctrine had been big throughout the 80s - people who were massively in debt had been told to give, give, give and became destitiute. Hillsong along with others like Joyce Meyer looked like more of the same.

If you're a member of a local church, of course you'll want to put money in the collection - because you WANT to support the continuing work of God! Hillsong have money coming in because, for lots of people, it IS their local church!

Yea. some churches focus on money. some churches may feel like all they want is your money. BUT the reality is how do you think these churches will run if they do not get given money. Tithe is so that they can operate! how does a non-profit organisation survive? by donations! Hillsong has so many people that it needs money to operate. I've been to countless hillsong events, they never asked for cash. In fact all the members of their band are volunteers, who take time off of there jobs. All their merchandising(shirts and stuff) goes toward mission work....Why does everyone give opinions when they have no clue what they are talking about?

@TheZwazi I will never "understand" believing in a god based on what some people that were so clueless on the way the world worked 2000+ years ago. Then a king (james) about 400 years ago took the most popular collection of those stories based on a committee he set up and poof bible made. Why they do this? In order for the religious people to STOP FROM KILLING EACH OTHER CAUSE THEY COULD NOT AGREE ON THE REAL BULLSHIT STORIES.

@TheZwazi When someone 2000+ years ago say they seen god you believe them. If someone today says they talked to god. I assume you think they are batshit crazy. Does god actually talk to you? The more you think you can hear a god or demon voice in your head telling you things. The more batshit crazy you are...This is not something to be worshiped. Worship or appreciate the (mostly atheist) scientist that actually come up with cures for diseases and better tech to make you life better.

Scientist are the ones that eradicate it...Your god is losing and thank god...no thank the scientist and actual thinkers they are..Your life is better because of science and technology not bronze age myths. everything you eat has been modified not by god to feed billions through science thank them not god!!!

@TheZwazi What he is doing is satirizing aspects of evangelical Christianity which are disgusting and deserve scrutiny and criticism. Here he is addressing the commoditization of things like prayer, music, and ministerial greed by pastors who use their congregation's money for personal gain. If you think this doesn't happen in real life, you are kidding yourself. Satire is valuable for bringing attention to that which needs to be scrutinized by society, the same as political corruption.

@TheSatireChannel There are man different ways to react to a situation. You choose to criticize and scrutinize the bad..... I choose to pray for the bad, and cheer on what is good!! I'd rather be grateful that the music from Hillsong is able to inspire so many people, to touch people's hearts, just like it touched mine!! and after that, i can sit down and pray to God that he may touch the hearts of those who make this music, or church leaders, or whoever, that their motives be good! <3

@TheZwazi Praying for the bad and cheering on the good, as you put it, are nice gestures but those things do nothing to bring attention to what is wrong. My point was that this video is bringing attention to what is bad. That is the value of it. People need to know the truth about what is going on in modern Christianity. There's nothing like a provocative, irreverent video to shine some light on hypocrisy and force people to pay attention.
