nah... I doubt it, Bikes can take faster corners because of the 2 wheels. Cars no matter how awesome the handling will always loose speed and power on a turn no matter how nasty and smooth the turn was.

However for a REAL contest see Motorcyclist's test of the Corvette Z06 versus the GSXR1000, or EVO mag's GSXR1000 against the Murcielago, M3, 911GT3, and Radical SR3 (which is quicker than an Atom). In a long sweeping corner a bike will win, in a tight one, a car will but not because it can corner faster, but because it handles the forces BEFORE the corner better. That CBR rider was crap, plus they shuda used the 1000.
the only reason the atom beats the bike. is because it basically is a bike with 4 wheels. you can take any corner at any speed, and get on the gas quicker as it is alot more planted then a bike. The atom will probably be the only car to beat a bike, primarily because it basically is a bike
DARQMX is right. bikes corner much better then cars do. bikes use gyroscopic forces to their advantage in cornering. cars cant do that and must cancel out the forces due to the other wheel, effectively meaning lower cornering speeds. as far as the ducati goes as a superbike tho, its one of the worst ive ever ridden. very confidence inspiring, but not very agile in comparison to some of the jap bikes.

i thought that too before i rode them. ive realised italian things just arent built that well. for instance the MV augusta wont touch a GSXR-750 and its a 1000. It still uses a single overhead camshaft rather then duel like jap ones have been doing forever. ducatis a name. dont get me wrong...nice bikes...but when u compare it to the league its in (superbikes) it doesnt touch a jap bike.
thanks for telling me i was just about to buy an italian,DUCATI1098 but Im now gonna get a yamaha r1 2007 because after your comment I did some research and the jap bikes are more faster and reliable,but not as good looking,the best looking one is the r1 because the front lights are identical to the 1098

Ever heard of the MTT Y2k? That is the worlds fastest production bike. It would decimate a Ducati 999 hands down. Nice bike the 999 tho... and considering the Lambo costs 10 times as much... id rather have the Ducati AND a BMW and still have enough cash left for a holiday!
And if the Ducati had a faster speed past the starting line.. then thats the Lamborghini's fault for being slow hahahaha

The lap should be started from a standstill though. The bike probably had a greater speed past the start-line, so it's not a very acurate race.
