very soft drumming in my opinion.... even though emerson is the most skilled musician in ELP, the keyboard player here resembles more like emerson than the drummer resembles palmer!
The drummer, Tamas Tatai on this video is not our drummer. He has just jumped in to play the concert because our drummer at that time suddenly got ill. (and later on unfortunately he passed away) By the way Tamas is a drummer of a Hungarian band "Cry Free", a cover band of Deep Purple and he had a chance to play several times together with Jon Lord, both in Hungary and Russia.
By the way you can find among our videos which are "pieces of my heart" the "America" and the "She belongs to me" from "The Nice" as well as the "Lucky Man" from ELP......
Great job! The unison fills in this song make it a fun one to drum to.
Too bad for the crowd that they can't really see your excellent keyboard work. Perhaps if you turned more toward the drummer like Keith used to, they could get the thrill of seeing you tickle the ivories.
This is a very good cover of emersons material and america /she belongs to me. I saw the nice a lot in the early days, and you could never properly describe the excitement of the time
Wow, very impressive! Now to complete the illusion you have to chew gum while you play, like Keith! :-) BTW do you have a transcription, or did you learn it totally by ear?
All the songs we play are learned "by ear". It needs a lot of efforts until hit by hit everything is complete, but I enjoy it very much.
The songs from The Nice "She belongs to me" and "America" - which are also on YouTube among our videos - made more "headache" while generating the transcription by ear.
GREAT JOB! EErie too! The keyboard player looks like my identical twin! I'm adopted ,and twins seem to run in my family, soooo.I know its a million to one shot but, can you tell me who he is? (Even my Wife and Sons thought it was me).Nevertheless, Great Job on a Great song,(which I've also been playing on keyboards since the 70's) Roy.
I am - mokusmisi - the organ player, and I was surely born in Hungary. :-))
The Hammond organ has always been my favorite instrument, but I could only afford a "real one" just in 2002 when I bougth an A102 with a Leslie 122. I play it just at home, on rehearsals and on concerts I play a Hamichord organ which has identical control surface as my "real one" but the sound in generated on the Native Instruments' B4 software organ.
this is a really serious cover...you play it really good, with nearly no mistakes...I'm learning it on the organ at the moment, too, so i know how hard it is...
Now I succeeded to find the Moog sounding close to the original. Maybe in September we will have a new video recorded during the forthcoming summer...
The Oberheim OB5 organ is the MIDI keyboard, while the sound of the Hammond organ is coming from the Native Instruments' B4 1.1 organ plugin on my notebook.
You may also like the song from earliers years of Keith Emerson, The Nice "She belongs to me" which is also uploaded in HD quality from one of our concerts last summer.
Great job on that one! It's particularly good figuring you've got Dick Cheney on Bass. I'll bet it's tough getting him to take time off from his busy schedule for gigs!
Ezt állati jól lenyomtátok! Megnéztem az eredeti 73-ast is, mielőtt kommentáltam volna. A fő érdem a tied Misi, de a többiek is nagyon szépen hozták a szólamokat. 6* :-)

Hey. This is a really nice rendition. If you could put a little more excitement into it I think it would be THE BOMB.
All my best,

Lmfao. That dude does look like Cheney. Haha.
Anyway, the keyboardist is the best I've seen on this song besides Emerson himself. Nice job!
