I remember watching this film and then trying to screw meccano legs to my brothers Sinclair ZX Spectrum before my dad caught me and stopped me from playing with the computer any more.
@TangledWeb Much better than I Robot and the plots not the same. These future cop shut down runaway robots when there's a normal malfunction. But they realize that now it's not a normal goof and some person is using household robots for murder. No robot is safe from being controlled. The cop even has to worry about his own nanny robot trusted to care for his son and figure out why certain bullets will chase a specific person around corners passing others to hit it's assigned target.
I loved this movie (partly because of tech and of course because of Kirstie), but when I red on Wiki, that THIS was supposed to be the sci-fi hit of 1984 that was surpassed by "low budged movie named "Terminator""... I was like.. WTF?! LOL! 8D
@GetMeThere1 In Kirstie's case, lots of coke and a huge royalty check from "Star Trek II." As for the others, they had no shame in the first place, so it's not too hard.

I was a little girl when I saw this film, and I had to agree with all the boys, Kirstie Alley was simply stunning.

Basic diy with malfunctions in household appliances - this seems to be a worthwhile movie! Thanks for posting!
