I learned the song and the solos by tab and I am trying very hard to play your version but I'm just not hearing it. nice to do this for viewers but you should always play at speed whatever you are trying to teach, then break it down. This is way too disjointed and the thin synth sound is not pleasant to listen to.

Hey, I'll respond to this. When I was 14, I got a guitar, and an amp, but I didn't learn the magic settings until like a year later. There was no internet then.

Ok, to get a good 'distortion' sound from your guitar and amp, turn your master volume all the way down, then turn your gain or drive all the way up. Then turn your guitar up and set the switch all the way towards the back of the guitar. Then slowly turn up the master volume on the amp while you play to get your overall level.

This is just quick and dirty for a guitar and amp. To get really nice tones, without a big investment, you should buy a line 6 pod studio GX or pod studio ux. I got a used ux1 on ebay for about 50 bucks a while back. These devices allow you to plug your guitar into your computer and access hundreds of virtual amps and effects and recording software and all kinds of fun stuff! Not to mention, you can get the pink floyd sound bottled up and ready to go.

Avoid playing all three notes at 1.05 with a barre,under distortion this will sound messy and novice like,e.g use second finger on b14,third finger on g14 and back to second finger on g 14,once you get this down this part of the solo will begin to sound more pro,thanx to the poster

well at 3-4 weeks you shouldnt be worrying about playing solo's yet. learn some theory to get you going. make sure you have your chords down. and go play some riffs or something from your favorite songs. 3-4 weeks is not long enough for a person to get that "feel" for the guitar, to where its natural. thats what you need to play solo's. get comfy with the guitar. take your time. dont try and overload yourself! if you have any questions that i can help you with message me. -playing 8 years
