I'm not a Christian, and never will be, but hearing this choir and the beautiful sound they make does make me wonder sometimes. I love the mormon tabernable choir and i also love some aspects of the mormon church thought some like polygamy is very disturbing to me.

This is a beautiful production of this song. I love the control and discipline of the voices, the precision the emotion conveyed through their singing. Wonderful.
Only spoiled slightly by the accompaniment being too loud and out of balance with the voices although that may be in the recording and microphone placement. Bravo!!

Great version; dislike the intro, though (in my opinion, this song is best served by a choir, although I heard a good solo version from Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral). But I think the best version of this song is in Home Alone. When Kevin walks into the church - it's similar to this version but I'd call it simpler.

I thought nothing would ever compare to the Kings College Choir version of O Holy Night... but this is just amazing. I've always been told the Mormon Tabernacle Choir was incredible and I really believe it.This is magical.
I'm not religious, but this song still moves me to tears. The part at 4:30 is heartbreakingly gorgeous. This is probably the only song related to Christmas that I've ever liked.

@dahncer Fact......... the Mormon Church has ALWAYS (and I do mean since the beginning) accepted people of all nationalities. It has NOTHING to do with discrimination. It has to do with who has an interest in singing in the choir, are capable of singing well, and if they are a dedicated member of the church. That is how it works. Not enough blacks are in it, because many choose to not be in it, and also that they are limited with how many people can be in it.

Religious opinions should only be discussed in friendly environments, but ideally religion should be accepted and not discussed ever. @cabrillo06 Actually, the chior has a few blacks in it, male and female. One of the males has also done recordings with other musical artists, such as R Kelly as backup vocals. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is one that not just anybody can join. Not only do you have to have a great voice, but you also have to be a member of their church. If you're a member, it is considered to be a great honor to be part of the choir, because their numbers are deifnitely limited.
I don't know what being a Mormon has anything to do with this, but I love this song, and to hear it in a choir way gives me chills throughout the whole song.

That's beautiful! My high school choir is doing this same arrangement this year for Christmas concert. It's such a beautiful song. At my school, we have some of the top choirs in the state, and even though I'm not in that choir normally, I get to sing this with them! Me and only eight others. I'm really excited. LDS did a wonderful job. I hope we can sound this amazing :D

I am not a Mormon - do not know what it is really - but I believe in Jesus, the son of God - I guess that is all that matters - and how you treat others. I'm not religious, but this song still moves me to tears. The part at 4:30 is heartbreakingly gorgeous. This is probably the only song related to Christmas that I've ever liked.

@dahncer Fact......... the Mormon Church has ALWAYS (and I do mean since the beginning) accepted people of all nationalities. It has NOTHING to do with discrimination. It has to do with who has an interest in singing in the choir, are capable of singing well, and if they are a dedicated member of the church. That is how it works. Not enough blacks are in it, because many choose to not be in it, and also that they are limited with how many people can be in it.

Whoever (and I challenge all who disagree, including other Religious Pastors to try and prove me wrong) thinks that Mormons are not Christians, try taking a good look at the name of their Church. The Church of ______ ________ of Latter Day Saints. Fill in the blanks. Why on earth would a religion that is a cult, satanic, or whatever even sing songs like this, along with doing "The Lords Prayer" with Andrea Bocelli? Please enlighten me.

I am Italian and Roman Catholic Christian, I know very well the Mormon church, I also visited Salt Lake City and the Mormon Thabernacle Choir. I think that the various religious opinions should only be set aside in the face of a musical show like this. Absolutely awesome! Beautiful!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!

@pistaun I disagree, im not in any way religious, but i do believe in the good in people. Religious opinions should only be discussed in friendly environments, but ideally religion should be accepted and not discussed ever. I dont care if people are christians, mormons, muslims or buddhist or whatever. Human beings are human beings, and humans are different, hence all people should be respected and accepted in one big unity. Just my seven cents :)

SILLY BICKERING...i thought the video was here to praise JESUS and the miracle of His birth...doesn't matter who sings it...i am Baptist but have ALWAYS loved listening the Morman Tabernacle Choir they are a large group but sound like a small group in that they are so spot on they sound like few but are many! I strongly dislike the fact that every Mormon Tabernacle choir has a Mormonism fight on it's comment page... It doesn't matter if you like Mormons or not, they make beautiful music, appreciate it for what it is.

@zZzRiderzZz They simply hate Mormons because they believe that their religion is right (which every religion does, including Mormons). Their religion taught them to hate Mormons (because their religion uses a misprinted Bible where Christ never said "Love your enemies"), so they do as their religion teaches. When you attend Mormon Church services on Sunday, you will never, EVER hear them preach about how other religions are bad, evil, or whatever. They teach what they believe about the Gospel.

@cliffy827 I believe He does care. If he didn't, He wouldn't have sacrificed His only Son. The Son is the bridge that fills the gap between God and man. He is the Great Mediator - the Man Christ Jesus.
The sole subject of the lyrics of this song from beginning to end: the child who, the moment He was born that Holy Night, was already Lord of Lord and Kings of Kings. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and NO MAN comes to the Father except by Him. Worship Him. All else is vain worship.

@dahncer Wow. Do you know to be part of this choir you have to go through numerous auditions. And did i mention you have to live within 100 miles of temple square. Have you even been to Utah. There arnt that many african americans, and most dont even care about joining a choir, which means less african americans. It doesnt mean Mormons discriminate. You will find that Mormons treat everyone just, even the people who spit in our faces and curse us, do some research before you assume something.

All this religious bickering does is turn people off religion and make the bickering factions all look like hypocrites. We can all walk our walk without walking all over other people.

@cabrillo06 Actually, the chior has a few blacks in it, male and female. One of the males has also done recordings with other musical artists, such as R Kelly as backup vocals. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is one that not just anybody can join. Not only do you have to have a great voice, but you also have to be a member of their church. If you're a member, it is considered to be a great honor to be part of the choir, because their numbers are deifnitely limited.

That's beautiful! My high school choir is doing this same arrangement this year for Christmas concert. It's such a beautiful song. At my school, we have some of the top choirs in the state, and even though I'm not in that choir normally, I get to sing this with them! Me and only eight others. I'm really excited. LDS did a wonderful job. I hope we can sound this amazing :D

@draco19571 . What makes you say that? If you look more closely at the Book of Mormon, you will see that it says "Another Testment of Jesus Christ." Then name of the "Mormon" church is "The Church of Jesus of Latter-Days Saints." Please do your homework before making such a statement.

@liencharm Just because someone puts Jesus Christ next to a book 1700 years after the bible was written doesn't mean that it has anything to do with Jesus Christ. Same goes with putting Jesus in your church's name. That would mean Islam talks about the true Jesus Christ just because they have him in their "holy" book. What them believe is antithetical to historical Christianity as is Mormonism. Believe it if you want, but you can't say that isn't an observation.

@bhaggen In the Book of Mormon there is a second group called the Jaredites that came to the North American just before the Lehi's group and they are Asiatic descent. After the Lehi settled in North America, they mingled with the Jaredites. I am not going to have a religious discussion on Youtube. If you want.. read "Lehi in the Desert: The World of The Jaredites: There were Jaredites." It was published in 1988 by Dr. Hugh Nibley.

I am not a choir person - but this brought me to tears... I am not a Mormon - do not know what it is really - but I believe in Jesus, the son of God - I guess that is all that matters - and how you treat others. And I have friends that do not believe, and I feel sorry that music like this will never speak to their souls. I respect them regardless.
