This would've been helpful to have seen this video earlier...I was interviewed during Vancouver Open 2010 for a local TV station and I managed to mispronounce "Akkersdijk". ("acker-sick") A thousand apologies from a humbled Canadian.
so you said "the most horrible name ever" because even dutch can't pronounce his name correctly? what if guus saw this video? I think he will kill you
What about Matyas Kuti? I've been told I say that wrong.
I used to butcher most of the Japanese names (Such as Ryosuke Mondo). There is a Japanese girl at my school who taught me how to say it. I also used to pronounce Stefan Huber wrong, until an Austrian girl I know corrected me.
hei Erik. When you said that Lars Vandenbergh is almost dutch guy, what did you mean with that? I mean Lars is from Belgium. So I do not really get it when you say " he is almost Dutch".....
cause he speaks dutch (he's from the dutch speaking part), goes to dutch cube meetings, lots of dutch competitions and because Dutch people sometimes think Belgium should be part of The Netherlands again ;)
I think you said 'Schultz' the wrong way. I think the 'Sch' is pronounced more like 'Sh' like in 'space Shutle' and Shoe. Also, I think the U is more like the Dutch 'oe', and more like Germans say the U.
10k!

Im actually from Germany, but I really like how you Dutch people pronounce things :D
Ive actually an aunt in Belgium, and although she speaks german perfectly, she kinda pronounces some words in a terribly funny way.
Really love you Dutch people,
Your Neighbour Sebastian from Cologne.
