Daytona Beach Florida - Driving Along the Beach

The beach is great, but it sucks living here. Hope ya like unemployment cause daytona's got a 12% OFFICIAL unemployment rate.

@StowAlex A person would have to have the mindset to create their own job related to tourism. When there is no money coming in for someone unemployed, they will have different thoughts and need something now. It can take a few years to start a business from square one. What do they live on in the meantime?

Many of those hospitality jobs do not pay much at all. Maybe $5.00-$8.00 an hour. When someone has a family, that will not go very far.

You can't have an "Accept that this is the way it is" attitude until everyone elses actions change you situation.

You can find a way to make things better ~ even in you have to pool resources

Looks to me that there are plenty of people & nice vehicles on the

beach, with filled coolers, unbrellas, canopy, body boards ..etc

People won't go to the beach completely broke, just sayin

@Champnumber39 I remember those days up north when there was several feet of snow on the ground and looking at those images of Daytona Beach on TV. It is very nice living in a warm weather climate. It does get very hot in the summer.

Trust me, it's not as great as you think. I go almost every weekend.... Still fun but water is so dirty and you can't see through it so I am afraid of sharks and it is close to one of the top 10 most shark attacks, so yeah!

@tanrat7 People lay very close to the traffic lane. Sometimes their heads are only a couple feet from the traffic lane. It is very scary at times. Drivers have to be very conscious when they are driving the beach
