@badboinini It took me atleast 3 mins to figure out what you wrote.. please dont buy a flame kit especially for a 1.3 Clio you'll look the biggest knob going. Yes you're right its not NOS.
When you heat nitrous oxide to about 570 degrees F (~300 C), it splits into oxygen and nitrogen. So the injection of nitrous oxide into an engine means that more oxygen is available during combustion. Because you have more oxygen, you can also inject more fuel, allowing the same engine to produce more power. Nitrous oxide is one of the simplest ways to provide a significant horsepower boost to any gasoline engine.
it rapidly cools intake air causing it to become more dense allowing more air into the cylinder at a cooler temperature which we all know burns faster and more efficiently. (makes it go faster if your that dumb).
it does burn... its essentially liquid oxygen but has nitrogen added to it to make it stable. otherwise it would explode. it is not actually flammable with the nitrogen and even says it on the bottle. it has a flash point of 470 degrees or so. just enough to burn in the combustion chamber. basically your increasing the amount of O2 in your engine. the nitrous doesnt do shit but make it safe.
it itself doesnt burn. light a match to it. it may be liquid oxygen, yeah, but its not a fuel. if it burns, why dont people use it as a fuel by itself? it encourages a better burn
yes it does make the air more dense. but that fact is minimal in comparison. you cannot use it as a fuel. you need 3 things to complete the combustion cycle. air, fuel, and spark. if you dont add fuel to the no2 your engine will go lean and explode. it has a very high flash point and will burn given enough heat.
@ihaveamassivehead10 Then the extra oxygen from the oxide side of things doesn't help then? The extra power comes mainly from the extra oxygen in the nitrous system. The extra cooling effect doesn't make much of a difference, as the increased rate of combustion with the nitrous causes more heat in the first place, so it just balances out.
@ihaveamassivedickhead10 - Nitrous oxide is an oxidizer you thick person, which increases the amount of available oxygen in the cylinder, and while not technically burning (FYI pure Oxygen doesn't burn either) IS consumed in the combustion process. It's effect had NOTHING to do with cooling the intake air.
@ihaveamassivehead10 - Partial credit! Nitrous Oxide degrades under high temp and pressure resulting in separation of the nitrogen and oxygen, as a result you can have more oxygen to burn fuel in, yes you are correct nitrous doesn't burn, stuff burns in oxygen. The cooling effect is just a bonus, though nothing compared to the chemical advantage!
That's what happens when u put spit fire bottles in your fuel tank
