Always loved the matriarchal relationship between Janeway and Ensign Kim. You always felt Janeway looking after Harry like a mom, determined to get him home.
Like I said before - I wish the writers explored a 7 of 9/Harry Kim relationship. It should have evolved more than what the writers gave him. And fans all over - even in Germany - were rooting for him. Damn writers. Screwing it up for the Asian guy. I wanted him to get Seven of Nine. And those other "kisses" and "love scenes" really did not add up to much for his character, despite the break-throughs. What would would have made me content was he got with Seven of Nine in the end of the series.
For hundreds of foreign and strange characters out there in the STUniverse, they find names you can only spell correctly when you hear them a few times, BUT, for a human character who should be of "simple 24th century Korean descent" they find the most stereopyical korean name, "KIM". Why??? Why??? Why??? Couldn't he have a name like Obi Wan Kenobi or so? Now when Harry Kim is even chinese or japanese why then even Kim?
note the irony he always was worried he would be replaced...and he ALMOST was replaced by Seven of Nine in Season 4...but by pure luck he was saved and Kes took the fall

It's sad that they did not spend time to develop Harry Kim. Other characters have much more growths and changes in the show.
