Yeah, on the vocal version (which I have on 12" GET IN!) the vocal is off a bit. But it sounds more special because of it. Classic tune is a classic tune. It worked at Bowlers with the audio; it'll do for me.
@nantocsem Lol, i know what you mean, but you have to remember there was no digital audio editing back then, that didn't come til 5 or 6 yrs later when PC's became fast enough to handle it, everything is laid down on old studio multi tape tracks. imagine the pain trying to get a drum loop to fit your vocal and piano lines, it was done by simply speeding up old 80's hiphop loops manually laying them into the track and putting a kick and a bassline under it to replace the lost bottom end...
@ARUK1 ... This became the hallmark of underground music at the time & gave it that distinct... slightly out of tune, slightly out of time ruff & raw sound that you could instantly tell apart from the clean cut production of the commercial scene. Having said that Underground or Commercial the big corporates like EMI ... A&M masquerading under private labels fed both scenes ... A truly memorable classic era!!!
@ARUK1 Congress 40 exactly knew what he is doing with those things (the whole track building starts always at the same part of the piano loop), my favourite tracks born between 90 and 95
Lovely dancing! Is there any video or site with teaching how to dance it ? I am strongly interested in it :-) Please send to me any offers or videos rafalheart@o2.pl
Ahhh, so many memories. I also remember Blurred - Girls & Boys, it used the same loop a few years later. People said the 90s was full of shit house music but I beg to differ. It wasn't big or clever, just feel good music which didnt take itself too seriously.
i know this term came out a decade later but hearing this again i have to say boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo M!
get into the music & let the rhythm move your soul... yeah this was a dj sasha jam, kaos leeds warehouse 1991 with raze's bass power accapella over the top.. nobody bet that.
It sure is rave: the actual of the genre is Oldskool Rave Hardcore. If you don't believe me, look for "Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music". Also take a look on Discogs, you can see what genre it is. It says Breakbeat / Hardcore. Hardcore is another name for Rave. And by Hardcore they don't mean the hyper shit that comes out nowadays, no. It was way calmer back in the days.
@stazzy94 OK, i`m 42, been into dance music and djing it since summer 1998. Owned Euphoria Records in Horsham, so I know my tunes. 1/ fuck discogs. They make up their own genre if they can`t catagories it. What they say is NOT gospel! This aint house, it`s breakbeat, or at least that was it`s name in 1990. It then evolved into d&b, gabba, ragga, happy, tech, electro,....you get the picture. Though the track was played at RAVES, it isn`t rave. It isn`t fast enough 4 a start. That`s my penny worth
there was a time when it didnt matter what style it was it was all just rave music and a proper dj built you up to the climax with a combo of tunes until you felt like you were part of a magical composition..... and i heard many a ardcore dj whack this into a mix esp. the piano and it worked a treat or maybe it was the pills or both...
I agree. House is more kick drum, snares and hi-hats, a floating deeper feel,a totally different vibe altogether. Do an E and listen to the 2 genres. You will definately see the "vibe" difference duco :)
@coogeeboy2006 Never try to define house, house is a feeling, it encompasses garage, electro, d&b, jungle and all that 2 steep stuff and grime and dubstep. Just apreciate this huge choooooooon!!!
