  • The smoothie looks yummy!

You don't have to core the apples in the Vitamix though. There's lots of in that part of the apple.

  • You need more protein in there!

  • I never have to use my tamper, I guess it's just the way you position the fruit.

  • You don't have to core the apple with a vitamix.

  • We are waiting for our Vitamix to arrive. We got it from Costco. Very expensive but it comes w/ all the recipe books and all the extras. It better work like everyone says it works or it's going back. But I'm sure it will perform great. It's endorsed by the C.A.I. and and the Vitamix Lady I'm sure we'll be using it for many a year. I'll let you know how it turns out. Probably will make a vid of the unpacking...and Brenda put the whole apple in the blender!

  • great video thanks

  • Brenda, with a Vitamix you can use the whole apple, peel, stem everything. There is more vitamins in the stem and seeds then in the actual apple. just make sure you blend it long enough. You won't taste the stem, seeds at all. Great job!

  • @paula3280 Actually the seeds in apples contain cyanide. Although its only trace amounts in the seeds, and you would have to eat a ton of them to affect you.... It's probably better to just do everything but the seeds.

  • Oh i wish i had a vitamix but I just got a kitchenaid food processor for gift. I'm afraid I won't use it anymore if i buy one of these.

oh another thing you should try if your out of juice and can only use water is try a medjool date. They sell it at trader joe's a whole tray of them for like 3.99 but they will last a long time:)

  • Hey Brenda,

I have a Blendtec on the way. I can't wait to use it. I have been juicing off and on for a year or so, but I am no longer willing to sacrifice on the fiber. For me, that is what helps balance out the natural sugars.

Also, I am also using maca root. I can tell the difference when I take it vs when I don't.

    Keep up the good work.

    Rae

  • I was worried about the sames thing but, the smoothies are so smooth and I have never had alot of pulp or texture issues.

I will try your recipe. Thanks for sharing!

  • This looks great Brenda!

I almost got a Vitamix, but opted for a juicer and a one horse power blender instead. My blender can do the apples, but would have a hard time with the carrots I imagine.

Does the texture of the pulp in the smoothies take some getting used too?

My favorite smoothie is parsley, frozen mango and almonds. That doesn't have any pulp really to speak of.

  • Yummy!!!

  • looks good but my concern would be that is alot of nateral sugar all the fruits are high in sugar and so are the carrots even though its good sugar my Dr told me sugar is sugar and even in fruit and carrots should be used only in moderation just a question!!!!

  • Well it's a lot better to me better than processed sugar. White sugar raises your blood sugar really high because it has no nutrients in it for it to digest. Fruit has a lot of nutrients, vitamins, enzymes so even though it has natural sugar it won't raise it as much and it takes longer.

  • aw you're such a good mommy!

It makes me happy to see how well you feed your family. <3
