I don't understand many of these comments. The rules for 2011 are that there will be parity between S2000 and NGTC engined cars . An assurance was given that teams would not have to switch to NGTC engines until 2013 to remain competitive.

The fact that TDIs in 2008 and autogas in 2010 had an advantage is not relevant because of this assurance.

now you know us BTCC fans know about Plato not happy about the other cars faster than his Chevy... saying that its not fair that the other cars are 5mph faster... can we go back to i believe 2008 when Plato was in a diesel powered Seat... them cars were 5mph faster than the vauxhalls, honda, bmw's etc, was Plato complaining then?

@AleXcr86 What are you talking about? BTCC has some of the best drivers in the business. Just because they occasionally hit each other, does not mean they are bad drivers. It's close racing. Not like F1 where they are terrified of contact or close racing.

Tom Boardman's race engineer has commented on a well known btcc forum. The telemetry shows that Boardman lifted off the throttle and actually braked in an attempt to avoid contact with Plato. Tom was straight on the radio making sure Jason was OK. No arguments now, this is the truth so I hope some of you take your nasty comments back and give the guy a break

Let's get to the point: Chevys and Bmw haven't invested a quid and a minute in developping a Turbo engine: people like the Andrew Jordan team totally focused on that from the last year, the others just worked on new cars now and, in the first part of the season, the amount of experience RML Chevy team had by using an "old", reliable car was a good vantage on the others. Now they're slower, but the decision to be slow was up to them initially: how can they complain with the organization now?

I dunno, Boardman turned inside plato cause he ran wide a bit and there was contact when plato closed the door. Seems like sour grapes to me and Im a fan of plato. Plato probably would have done the same himself and often has....

The guy that knocked plato off should have been disqualified... it was intentional 2 taps 1 on the straight and 1 on the rear quater panel its not right and the team should have to pay for the damge to that chev

I hope the Silverline team knows what theyre doing by not making a competitive car. If your trying to make a statement this season, post numbers, and let the people see it. Although Plato may have been playing to the camera, he eluded to past seasons when the cars were much closer, i bet he meant the early to mid BTCC that we all love. You cant have a racing series as prestigious as this, and allow such a standings effecting gap run rampant from round to round. its a mockery.

Boardman knew exactly what he was doing. if your faster on the straights, why not race that way? he bullied Plato into the top position and i feel that he doesnt really deserve the win. This should be brought to the organizers so that they can see the imbalance between the vehicles. its almos childish how big the gap is in performance these days. 1 motor, with different shells is how it should be run until manufacturer obedience is at a level that can make for better racing.

peak of the sport. and the cars are not matched properly. not fair. but if this was to happen with plato and boardman in the same car it wuld be called a racing incident given the same car boardman would have had a welldeserved second place and plato would have opened up a massive lead, plus most people would be comlaining about that to.

Plan and simple Plato defended his place bourdman got pissed off and pushed Plato out the way. Plato is a hardcore race driver and wants to do the best he can with what he has and he simply cant race fairly this year and he was pushing as hard as his car will allow him to and its just not possible.

And now, everyone shut up defending both, Boardman had a much quicker closing speed, and they both held their lines. Just the lines crossed. And Boardman hot him once (that looked a bit on purpose) and then a second time. That second time looked highly unintentional to me. As for keeping the win, 3 points and £500 fine most please. Boardman's 70% fault take out ruined Plato's race, Plato's 95% take out on Neal ruined Neal's weekend. On this basis Boardman will be payed by Alan Gow.

Okay. Boardman, finally got that win, brilliant race too. Plato, don't go on moaning. Its your own teams decision, and Alan Gow is being stupid not forcing teams to have them or quit, because this kind of argument would happen. You can't make a turbo engine as slow as a normally aspirated engine. So keep the turbos at full pace to encourage more teams to get them so they get the good results. And finally someone other than Matt Neal brave enough to take out Plato! Tom, only £500 and 3 points!

Plato is not a total idiot. He has decided to race in a series with has these equivelancy issues most seasons, and he knows that. He has decided to race with a team which decided to stick with normally aspirated engines. End of story.

He is playing to the cameras, and if the Turbos and Next Gens get pegged back as well that is a bonus.

Jason makes that point himself. All the rest of the field were moaning when the Focus on gas was faster than everyone else and that was seen as ok to complain. Now most cars are running turbos up front and Jason is seen as the only moaner when in fact he has a point.

They forced the Seat Leon TDi cars to drop their power. Not sure why they view turbocharged pertrol cars much differently.

Maybe Jason does go on about it, but he is trying to win. 5MPH is a huge gap in BTCC

Nudging is BTCC all over is it not? It's widely accepted all over.

There was two nudges and in full view I don't believe there was the intention to punt him out. It was minimal contact.

I understand Plato's frustration because as per real life, turbo cars rule! They are faster through sheer torque on top of the power.

I was miffed when I saw this today but later on Boardman said his car is about 5mph faster and wanted Plato to get out the way hence the nudging. I wasn't happy when he both nudged Plato out into a wreck and then later on after safety car slowed down on a sharp corner and the pack following wasn't watching closely and it caused another wreck. Boardman caused two accidents today which were toying with the rules a bit. Hmmmm

What goes around comes around Jason you bellend. He wasn't complaining when he used to have the TDi Seat Leons that were a leap and a bound above everyone else. I was there today and if there is any doubt what people think of him then it was dispelled with a sarcastic cheer when he slammed his door. Chevy could have chosen the turbo route but they didn't so tough luck to them. N/A has advantages over turbos as well, better engine braking for one.
