  • Stay off the bluetooth, greentooth, whatever and PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DRIVING BEFORE YOU KILL SOMEBODY!

  • on the ford website to upgrade the firmware it said to bring it into a dealer, I don't want to do that. why can't I use a flash drive and do it that way. I understand if you where going in and replacing any bit of hard ware but come on ford!!!

  • I don't like on sync that I can't control my ipod through the ipod itself, I understand it's a saftey feature most likely but hey If I have a passenger it's the most intuitive just you use the formilar UI

  • n00bs

  • i have sync beacuse im from the futer

  • that is so cool.

  • The female voice of Sync is too commanding... needs to be softer...

I don't like how it repeats what you say...

  • should make it sexy, lyk "hey baby, say that again" lol

  • oh yes! :)

  • Never thought I would but I bought a Ford...and Edge, mostly because of the Sync system. It is miles ahead of anything else on the market and actually works...easily. Plus the Edge is a competitive CUV too.

  • not a fan of Ford vehicles but this is really cool.

  • one problem with it look for windows vista voice and look at the problems it has how is this better and if so can you give me a ford to try out for 5 or so years lol

  • i am a sync specialist for a dealership here in the us this is cool guys

  • I'm currently employed at a ford-lincoln-mercury dealership as a service advisor-when the sync system was first introduced to me at an advisor meeting I thought my God-people driving now with a cell phone in there ear are not paying attention to the road the way it is and now they are going to have more bells and whistles that they know what to do with. The only drawback of this is the distraction from paying attention to the road.Isn't saftey more important??? BOB G

  • Its just new tech for music yarddog. If your state of mind is distractions, we should have taken away the radio in 1938. Welcome to new tech. Its great that ford came up with it first. i hope they copyright many of the trademarks!

  • fuckin hell i was looking for nsync, and i end up with this boring shit

  • wow, it's pretty cool what mediocre companies (Microsoft and Ford) can do with your media. This guy isn't very good at presenting the technology. I can't wait to see Steve Jobs introduce a car system. I'm sure Apple will eventually make similar systems for cars that people aren't wary to purchase, like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, Honda, and Acura. Let's get real people, Ford and Microsoft are both sucky companies.

  • There is a video sent to Ford Motor Company employees on Aug-2007 and it shows all the potential in place or "a hands free system" and it is really cool !!! It will even come on the Focus later on... wow!!

  • linux sucks

  • Wow this seems really cool. I wonder why this isn't advertised more?

  • I haven't owned a car for 12 years but the voice control feature seems very cool - the less physical distractions a driver has, the better. When renting cars, I've always had to fumble for controls, including everything from lights to station tuners...

  • It isn't supposed to be capable of running some kind of crazy thing; it's supposed to be work with you still being able to concentrate on the road, so it doesn't need Linux. It actually seems to work very smoothly with Microsoft software.

I wonder whether I'll be able to stream sound from my laptop to the system though, or even the sound from a movie. It does have Bluetooth, so it should be possible.

  • I wonder how long it will take before people start modding it and converting it to linux. I'll bet it will take less than a year for someone to come out with a better system that can be installed in just about any vehicle.

  • So? What's with the Linuxization of everything?

What's the need of putting Linux inside a car, or anything? If Linux is so flexible, then makers would have installed it. Putting Linux in anything will void the warranty of it, might crash a lot, pretty much kill or wipe-out the other system, have little support in the real world, and is just other non-sense.

Just for a bunch of geeks with nothing to do.

  • Well, Linux is open source. Would it be better? I don't know. The thing is that Microsoft doesn't share their source code, so it makes it more difficult to modify the software to add other functions. Primarily I would like to see systems that can be installed into other vehicles as after market products.
