It will if it is soggy. it should be moist. When the top layer starts to look dry, pour a cup of water in the hide.

No, none of my gecko tanks have thermostats.

Just a warm side with a UTH  and the cool side.

But I do check the warm side with my palm to make sure the UTH did not stop working.

Yes i do; on all my tanks

leopard geckos need belly heat too digest their food, so a UTH is the best option. Make sure you the right size for your tank.also a UTH is good to keep the warm side of the tank warm.

TIP: Dont place the UTH in the middle of the tank. Place it on the warm side

but glass is best as wood can splinter.

a fish tank works good and are less expensive than a glass terrarium.

TIP: Get a long tank rather than a high tank

She loves it she spends allot of time in there. if she's shedding or not.
