I've just watched the movie and it officially become one of my favorites<3It's really great and I loved Ben Barnes and Collin Firth in it.Actually I didn't expect that it'd be so good. @moe3161987 It's set in the 1930s and Ben Barnes' character gets married to an American woman without his parents ever meeting her. So he finally brings her round and his family decides that since she is American, she is horrible. This whole movie is about the family getting along with his wife, finding acceptance etc. etc.

I hate these period piece movies that don't stay true to the era they take place in, yes it supposed to be the 20's, but the characters all seem to have a 2009 sensibility. I would prefer it tell the story, but be as authentic as possible to the era it takes place in.

It's a great film, with a quite surprising and brilliant performance from Jessica Biel. I didn't imagine she had all the talent she shows in the movie. The rest of the cast quite predictably is excellent too, especially Scott Thomas, Firth (great tango dancer, I have to say) and Kris Marshall. The added bonus is the soundtrack.

Ben Barnes? Cute, adequate.

Has anyone seen this yet? I am SO curious! The actual play this film is based on was very sad (albeit quite witty at parts), exploring religious hypocrisy, the impulsiveness of "love," and the aftermath when reality sinks in and love fizzles. This trailer makes it seem sillier/far less focused on deeper psychological themes, and more on showing off beautiful period costumes, sets, and inane sit.'s (getting caught naked, sitting on dog, etc. never happened.) I hope they do the original justice.
