  • With the greatest respect, this is just a video of you playing, with out explaination of even the first pattern you play, the rest is just you messing around. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just a waste when you are obviously good enough to actually teach something.

  • I appreciate you're critique, especially when its done in a non-insulting manner.

The pattern that Im playing is ffrlrlrl. This is done throughout 70% or so of the video, just, like the description says, Im using different rates, motions, and embellishments (like doubling certain notes) which gives the illusion of completely different patterns.

  • Thanks, I knew you had something to teach me :).

  • eww i dont like the sound of your snare lol, now to bad tho (:

  • I really like the freedom you are expressing. Keep it up!

  • rip it upppppp

  • sounds good. Have you ever tried the aquarian texture coated heads? They sound KILLER on the gretsch kits!!

  • I can dig it.stickings? take the basic 26 rudiments and play them at triplet rate so they cross the bar line.Like a paradiddle.Instead of

counting it as right left r l rr lr l ll r lr ll

count it as trip e let trip e let ect.....best i can explain here.

  • 36-38 sounded sooooo sick dude. that low hit.. was guhhhhhhhhhhhhh .. im at 1:00 now was more sick shit. 1:12 now. yumm...

didnt like some parts.. so imma give you a 4. but sick job dude

  • Write down some more sticking patterns, that you use in this video, pleeease :)

  • Sorry, another question about your kit tuning...

Your medium tom sounds great, are you using a diffrent head on that one? whatever it is, i think that is the best sounding tom!

    stay with that series.

  • i think the kit sounds great. are u a great tuner or is it a high end kit? serious question. thanks

  • wow, thanks! I can tune pretty well, and this is a LOW end kit; Gretsch Catalina Birch.

  • i think you rely a little too much on the bounce, but other than that this is pretty cool

  • i like it.... at 00:10 to 00:15 is there a pattern your using?

  • good job, but im not feelin ur set especially the heads. but i like the cymbals!

  • You are very good indeed you have a great feel going on,lovely dynamics and you're cool for showing us stuff.Good luck mate!

  • nevermind lol....it's BBRLBBLR :) it sounds different when you listen to it! i play that lick all the time lol....

  • youre close, but the actual sticking im using there is RFFR LFFL. You have the notes in the right order, the only difference is Im thinking of that first R as the downbeat.

  • i was wondering if you could give me some of your stickings??? it's like three in the morning here and i have to get up early for a drum lesson and i'm not in the mood for transcription. I would really like to know the lick you play at 1:08! Thanks a million!

  • Wow, i am very impressed. Would you be able to suggest any books to work out of?

  • Any of the Gary Chaffee books. I studied with him, and use his material to help me all the time...

  • thanks! Theyre a low-end Gretsch birch kit, with a Brady Snare drum. Im not one for big, expensive drum sets, but I do appreciate a high end snare, like Brady.

  • I hear ya,I have 3 kits by Premier and my low wnd kits sounds almost as good as my top range.Your kit sounds great, thanks for great tips mate!Nice to know there are some nice drummers out here.

  • niice, what brand of drums you got?

  • drumming is maths but you also need to know how to groove

  • man, drumming is not maths. very cool video though, you're very good.

  • Without math, how could you keep up the right tempo?

  • Nice job man, lots of feel in your playing :)

  • your snare sounds like it's off, like the wires are hanginging idle.

  • They are!

  • what is the pattern that you're using?

  • Well I liked it
